Children and staff at Chilton Meadows Private Day Nursery in Chilton Moor, Houghton-le-Spring are celebrating thanks to becoming the first Day Nursery in Sunderland to achieve the maximum recommendation score in an online guide to day nurseries, daynurseries.co.uk.

The recommendations cover the nursery’s overall standard, care, resources, facilities, outside space, activities, safeguarding, nutrition and value for money along with personal recommendations from parents.

Nursery manager, Joanne Punshon is delighted with the accolade, she said;

“To have a recommendation score of 10 is a wonderful achievement and to be the only nursery in Sunderland to achieve this score is an accolade in itself.

The recommendation score is calculated using a combination of the average of all ratings on user recommendations submitted in the last two years, and the total number of user recommendations submitted in relation to the number of child places at the nursery. A family run nursery established in 2003, Chilton Meadows Private Day Nursery provides day care for children aged 0 – 5 years.
