The Coventry-based group, which has three sites in Radford, Chapelfields and Whitley, decided to produce a video to show parents the safety measures each setting has in place in order to keep the nurseries virus free and safe for children to return.

The response from parents since uploading onto their social media site has been very positive including one parent who thought the video was ‘brilliant.’ The nursery group has also been recognised by Ireland’s ‘Big Start’ campaign.

Area manager, Margaret Prentice said: “We decided to make the video to reassure our families that we had made it our top priority to take every step possible to ensure that our nurseries are fully compliant and safe for both children and staff following the government’s early years guidance.

“The videos have proven to be a success as parents have begun returning to the settings feeling more at ease with the current situation now they can see how effectively we are managing it.”

’We have managed to reassure our parents and children who are really enjoying being at nursery’

The nursery team have produced three videos, one for each setting, so parents can see a comprehensive step by step account of what happens during and after drop off with their children.

All three videos show staff and children having their temperatures checked before entering with a member of staff wearing gloves and a mask. Once in, the children are then taken to wash their hands and this will continue regularly throughout the day.

Reassurance is the key to all three videos and highlights to parents what their child can expect throughout their day at nursery.

Director at Tiny Teddies Day Nursery Ltd, Paul Ingram said: “The safety of our customers is our priority and we have managed to reassure our parents and our children, who as a consequence are really enjoying the benefits of being back at nursery, as are their careers.”

Tiny Teddies Day Nursery Ltd decided to close two of their three sites during the initial lockdown but kept its largest flagship site open for children of key workers.

Mr Ingram said: “We have had a wonderful response from parents for doing so, enabling those who might not have been able to work otherwise to do so. Even those who couldn’t attend the nursery have been grateful for the support we’ve provided by keeping in contact to check in on their little ones and give advice and activity ideas where necessary.

“We’ve been consistent in our social media too, providing daily activities, educational resources and information to help people through this difficult time – our levels of engagement on this front reflects how well received it has been.”
