Overall Experience

My daughter loves attending the CPHS nursery. The nursery staff are extremely caring and hardworking and they keep me well updated on how her day has gone and her progress. We are very pleased with our decision to send her here.

My son is very happy at Colchester Prep and High School Nursery. He loves the teachers and is happy and excited to go into school. His speech and confidence have grown since starting and he loves telling us about the learning he has done. Parents are kept up to date with school life via daily written

communication in learning diaries and with photos and videos online. Thank you for helping my child to feel so happy and confident at school after a negative experience at his first setting!

Overall Experience

I am extremely happy with the nursery at St Margaret's Prep School and Nursery. My daughter has settled in so well and absolutely loves going in. The teachers are all so lovely, friendly and genuinely care about the children. The school as a whole is such a warm and welcoming environment and I've noticed

how much she has grown in confidence and learned new things since starting here.
The staff always keep me updated and it's clear how much effort they put into creating a fun and nurturing space for the kids. I feel confident knowing my child is in such good hands. Highly recommend.

Our child is currently at the nursery at Colchester Prep and High School and we couldn't be happier. The staff are so kind and caring and our child has grown in confidence since joining the nursery last year. The nursery offer subjects that other nurseries don't and the key workers are so engaged with

Overall Experience

We transferred our 3 year old daughter to Colchester Prep and High School Nursery midway through the year as we were dissatisfied with her previous nursery. Within 2 days of starting, she had bonded with the staff, settled into the routines and was excited about going into nursery in the morning and

asking to attend on more days. This year she is absolutely loving nursery still, and gaining great enjoyment from the wide range of activities available, including phonics, music, PE, cookery, forest school. We are delighted with the way she is being supported in her early years learning and it is all testament to the sensitivity, care and professionalism of the fantastic nursery team. Our younger daughter will be joining as soon as she turns 2. A really wonderful environment!

We couldn't be happier with the exceptional care and education provided by the nursery. The facilities are second to none, offering an enriching and immersive environment where every corner inspires learning and exploration. The abundance of high-quality resources ensures children are constantly engaged

and stimulated, setting a firm foundation for a flying start to reception.
The care here is profoundly character-building and focused on setting the children up for success, fostering both kindness and independence. Activities are thoughtfully designed to captivate young minds and encourage creativity. The staff are simply outstanding - attentive, nurturing and incredibly skilled. Overall Experience

My son (3) started here in September this year, after a few stay-and-play sessions. We were keen for him to have a smooth transition into pre-prep for Sept 25.
He was with a previous childcare provider 4 days a week, but before the summer had become more reserved and not progressing. He wasn't joining

in at song time anymore, completely out of character, he lost his confidence and we were so worried.
However, after only a term at St Mag's he is flourishing, he loves the teaching staff and chatters the whole way home about his new friends and what he has learned. Today he had his first Christmas play, he sang his little heart out in front of all the parents. Learned the words and the actions and we are so impressed with how much he has progressed and regained his confidence in such a short space of time.
The lunches are of excellent quality and choice.
All the staff are so helpful and informative.
They really go beyond expectations and deliver excellence, we are so grateful for St Margaret's.

My daughter only joined in January and speaks highly of her teachers. She looks forward to going in every day, which is quite contrary to our experience at a previous nursery. She comes home excited, with lots of her creative artwork and her overall growth is easy to see. I love that she gets 1-2-1

attention and we’re informed of what’s planned for the week with regular updates as she works at her pace with the right support. She’s dreaming big again and being nurtured to take flight!

Oxford House has brilliant Early Years teaching staff who are both courteous and highly qualified. I was particularly impressed with how the teaching staff taught my daughter how to read: by offering challenging books which accelerated her reading. She is now a fluent reader beyond her years and I attribute

this to the excellent teaching at Oxford House. The Early Years is such a vital part of one's learning journey and I have nothing but praise for Oxford House, my daughter would not want to be anywhere else.

Overall Experience

Generally speaking, myself and my partner have been thoroughly impressed with Oxford House, especially in comparison to other childcare providers we’ve used. The staff are extremely attentive, the environment is both rich and well tended too. Plus, I really value the smaller class size. Our daughter

is blossoming as a result. I see opportunity for the school to improve its communication practices though. There are often multiple forms of communication (different apps, newsletters, email, reception etc.) often sent simultaneously which is confusing to receive. Some of the basic practicalities of communicating absence, managing uniform and clarifying pick-up times were also difficult to confirm due to such a variety of comms channels and lack of replies on some. I also sent emails to the finance team that were left unanswered for more than a week on more than one occasion too. These are small but important details I expect to be in place.

The leadership and staff at CPHS are exceptional. Their dedication to providing a safe, nurturing environment is evident in every interaction. Regular updates and open communication reassure us our son is in great hands.
They truly understand the needs of each child and go above and beyond to ensure

they feel happy and supported every step of the way. Starting nursery was a big step for my shy son, the staff were patient and kind helping him settle, and he’s now thriving.

We had had a bad experience in another setting so were very anxious about care for our little boy going forward. One viewing went a long way to assuage any anxiety I had. My wife felt the same when she was obliged to also view two weeks later (while they held our place). The decision made itself once

I had a conversation with the wonderful Nursery 1 teacher.
Suffice to say they have exceeded expectations and bringing my little boy here has been one of the best decisions ever. He has flourished in leaps and bounds under their care.
His little brother is also on the list we are chomping at the bit to get him started.
Highly recommended. 7-star service.

My youngest daughter started at St Margaret’s Nursery in October 2023. Since day one she settled in very nicely, the staff made her feel comfortable and safe. Every day she goes in she is always very eager to see her friends and teachers! At pickup, she loves telling me all about what she has been up

to during her day. The nursery provides a variety of learning opportunities from PE, music, French and more, all of which are very enriching even at this early stage.
