Overall Experience

I love this nursery, and would recommend it to anyone. I am very grateful for everything they have done for my daughter, and for us as parents too. This is a happy place where children learn and have fun at the same time. The outdoor space is fantastic and it feels like they make a real effort to get

the kids outside as much as possible. Our child has been with the nursery from Baby Room through Toddlers and into Pre-School, and at every stage she has been looked after by extremely kind and warm people. She is very happy and so are we. Thank you.

Overall Experience

Both our children attended Fulford Montessori nursery from being in the baby room at 1 until they graduated from pre-school. The care they received was exceptional and catered to their individual interests. Staff were able to go with whatever sparked the children's interests on any given day, working

inclusively to support participation in everyday tasks and maximising independence. The Montessori curriculum was well-rounded, and celebrations to mark birthdays were always special. Staff utilised the local environment well, for example, shopping trips to buy ingredients for cooking and baking, trips to the park to find frog spawn and the local woods to do forest school. The attention paid to social and emotional development has resulted in friendships formed in the nursery that has stood for the rest of time. We are sad to be leaving after 7 years, but the foundations Fulford Montessori gave our children will last a lifetime!

Overall Experience

I just had to give a review of the fantastic experience we have had at York Montessori Nursery Headingley. We welcomed a Ukrainian family to Leeds in May - Mum, Dad and two and a half-year-old daughter. She had been at a Montessori Nursery in Ukraine, so her parents were hoping she could go to one here

in Leeds. I called, and from my first conversation with the manager, I was so impressed with his willingness to help in every way. He and the staff have really gone above and beyond to help the whole family settle in, taking time to get to know them and make sure that they are comfortable before leaving their child. They have completely understood the scale of moving to a new country after the trauma of what the family have experienced in Ukraine, and my husband and I are so grateful on behalf of our new family that they have ensured the best possible start for them all in Leeds.

Overall Experience

I sent my little one to this lovely nursery. They were so attentive to my and her needs starting nursery in the toddler room. I was very impressed by those who work in the toddler room, and the awareness of infant mental health and making the transition to nursery really steadily.
The attention to

developing safe attachments within the environment is excellent, and I’m so impressed by the accessible environment too. So much that her independence and confidence has increased tenfold since starting. The regular updates, pictures about her care and learning are again excellent, and the ongoing reports of her progress both online and also in person mean we get a great run down each time she attends.
I’m really very impressed by the toddler room and how much the learning of different topics is encouraged and structured but also how freely and child-focused the day to day play is. I love the focus on the outdoors too.
I really think the staff do a fantastic job.
I would recommend it!

Overall Experience

My son has attended this nursery for two years and has flourished because of his time there.
He is growing into a well mannered, articulate, responsible boy, and I know Montessori teachings and staff have influenced this.
The day is well structured, and I love that they help tidy up after lunchtime

and are encouraged to do so throughout the day.
Every day he is happy to go to nursery and has made lots of friends. He often doesn’t want to leave!
The activities they do are exciting and challenge my son in his learning and development.
My son especially enjoys the forest school, playing outside on the bikes, playing with the dinosaurs and the messy play. He loved roasting marshmallows on the fire and still remembers it now.
Nursery staff have worked incredibly hard to form relationships with myself and my son, and they are always more than happy to talk through concerns and parental worries
I thank the nursery for all they have done for us both, especially during the pandemic.

Overall Experience

This is the best nursery in the area.
I have both my children in this nursery, both started at 9-months, one is 19-months now, and the other one is 3 and 1/2yrs.
I looked at pretty much every other nursery in the area, and this is the best by far! Wonderful and friendly staff and great management.

If there are problems, they address them immediately and always have an open ear. My children couldn’t be happier. Compared to their peers, they learn so much more in this nursery.
The words I’d describe the nursery; friendly, warm, individualised, Montessori values, independence supporting, outdoorsy, happy, open, colourful, encouraging, age appropriate, caring, nurturing, safe, forest school, great and nutritious food, clean.
I can’t recommend them enough!

Absolutely love this place. Visited 3/4 in the area when we were first looking, and I knew it was the right place for my boy straight away.

Cold and ignorant management.
Never reply to emails, do not arrange meetings about the safeguarding of my child. I have been waiting since 19th September but nothing. I had to ask for an injury to be put into the accident book.
Twice my child has said bye to the manager and twice been ignored.
I

have given notice and have informed Ofsted. I have given notice yet even when the manager was in front of me she told myself and another child's parent that 'supposed to be my day off, but you know', like it was a chore. Either be there and be happy or don't.
There are much much better places to put your most precious people, and this is not the place.
Do your research!

Our daughter attended this nursery for two and half years and spent time in each room (baby, toddler and pre-school). We initially chose this setting largely based on the fantastic space available for the little ones, both indoors and out. The beautiful garden space is a real asset - outdoor play is

encouraged whatever the weather and there is a forest school area and outdoor classroom. We found the quality of childcare to be excellent, the staff really are amazing - so caring, supportive and knowledgeable. They have always ensured great communication to parents (even throughout the COVID pandemic), via the parents' app updates and regular newsletters, as well as having time to provide daily face-to-face feedback, which was very reassuring. Our daughter has thrived in the Montessori setting and is very independent and confident. The settling-in phases were managed particularly well and I was always confident she was in great hands.

Our daughter has come on leaps and bounds since being with Montessori in Headingley. The staff are very caring, warm, friendly and attentive. I am writing this on my daughter’s last day in the toddler room. She’s had a wonderful time at this nursery since starting in the baby room and I am rather sad that she’s leaving! We were new to the area and this was recommended. I was so impressed by the staff and how interested in the children and

happy in their jobs they seemed (especially compared to a lot of the nurseries I’d visited in London). My daughter has been really well looked after and she has flourished in their care. The team has a sensible approach to mishaps and illnesses and dealt really well with the challenges of Covid. Food is great, care is great and plenty of time outside at the nursery itself and on little trips out. Very much recommend this nursery!

Our son has been here for a year now and we couldn't be more impressed. The nursery is in a beautiful old house, which gives it a very homely feel. There is a great outdoor space, with structured play areas set up, a forest school, and a poly-tunnel where they can be a bit sheltered from the weather.

There is a lot of emphasis on play with nature, and they seem to have quite a lot of outdoor play compared with other nurseries, which is great for our son, who is a very active child who needs lots of fresh air! The staff are professional and well-trained (including lots of ongoing professional development), but also just super nice! There's lots of daily communication, inc. sending lots of photos with their reports. They are always coming up with creative play ideas. There is clearly a lot of careful thought that goes into the design of their activities that reflects the Montessori philosophy and seems to go way beyond the industry standard. Most importantly, our son absolutely loves it there!

I have both my children in the nursery at the moment and I honestly couldn’t imagine sending them anywhere else. My son is very shy but the love and support he has received, whilst there, has seen him blossom. He is now incredibly confident, articulate and caring. I love the Montessori ethos for promoting

independence and all the staff do such a wonderful job of helping the children to have fun, whilst building valuable skills. Pre-school, in particular, has helped him to be so ready to start school soon. My daughter has several food allergies and not once have I had any cause for concern. They have gone above and beyond to ensure that she is safe. All of the staff are so well trained and genuinely treat each child as if they were part of one big family. The nursery has a wonderful community feel and I will be devastated when we don’t have a reason to go there anymore!

My husband and I are extremely pleased with the incredible service and care that Headingley Montessori offer our child and all the children in their care. The nursery has a wonderful homely feel, is well equipped with exciting, educational and exploratory toys and games for the children, along with

a large rotating library of books and excellent outdoor and indoor spaces. Our child has blossomed in their care. Her language and independence has increased 10 fold and she is now very confident in all social settings, interacting with adults and children. We feel extremely lucky to have found such a consistently high level of care and we are over the moon with the progress our daughter has made there. She is happy and confident and enjoys her time with a group of motivated, enthusiastic, highly trained, members of staff. This nursery feels like an extension of our home and we regard it as part of our family. I can’t recommend it highly enough.

I feel very lucky that my son has attended Headingley Montessori since he was 13 months old, beginning in the baby room, progressing to the toddler room, and now in preschool. He started with 3 full days (8am-6pm) when he was 13 months, and after a year that was increased to 4 full days per week. He

has been lovingly cared for during his years at Headingley Montessori and has thrived in all aspects of his development, socially, intellectually, creatively, emotionally. The staff have been engaged in his development every step of the way, providing a happy secure environment for him. He will attend till the end of August as he is beginning reception in September. I am grateful for the immense support the nursery has provided in my son’s development during these crucial early years. As an unexpected bonus, I’ve made some dear friends amongst other parents whose children attend the nursery. So much gratitude. Thank you to all the hard-working, loving staff at Headingley Montessori Nursery.

Overall Experience

Our daughter has been at York Montessori since she was 10-months-old and she has blossomed. As a 'lockdown baby', I was concerned that she would struggle to settle in, but she has really grown in confidence and her speech and communication, in particular, has improved hugely.

The staff clearly care

deeply about the children, and I love the positive relationships that my child has forged, particularly with her key worker. She's always really happy to see her! The staff are really flexible and accommodating; for example, we chose to use cloth nappies, and they've been really open to using them even though it's not what they usually use.

Mostly though, we love how child-led the nursery is - even the baby room. We're encouraged to update the staff with what we get up to so that can integrate it into their activities. It makes us feel like our child is being respected, even as a baby, and it's great that she has the freedom to explore and develop in the way that works for her.

Our toddler (2 y + 2 m) has attended Yorkshire Montessori at Headingley for a year now (he was initially meant to start last March, but we’re all aware of that worldwide pandemic). We couldn’t be happier with the level of care he receives. The staff are very attentive and sensitive to each individual

child - they’re wonderful and we are so grateful for their hard work. The meals are nutritious and varied and they cater well to vegetarian diets etc. The updates on the parents' app are really helpful and it means we have a nice summary of his day - meals, sleep, nappy changes etc. We have had zero concerns since he started and he has come on leaps and bounds in this time. We have had limited time inside the nursery ourselves due to Covid, but they follow strict hygiene measures and the times I have been inside (settling sessions), it was super clean, warm and inviting. Couldn’t be happier and feel very lucky to have found this nursery for our son. We intend for him to stay here all the way until school.
