Selca Day Nurseries, with locations spread across Rhondda Cynon Taff and Bridgend area, are dedicated to providing affordable, reliable, and high-quality childcare for local families.

What began in 2019 as a small, family-run business in a charming Old Gospel Hall in the heart of Llanharan has grown into a beloved network of five nurseries, four of which offer full-day care. The Selca family has always been passionate about offering children a safe and nurturing environment where they can thrive and develop.

Each Selca Day Nurseries is designed to feel like a home away from home, with a strong emphasis on ensuring that every child feels safe, valued, and happy. The team works tirelessly to make sure each child receives the best possible start in their educational journey. There is nothing to fault about Selca, my baby loves going here. The staff are wonderful and so caring, and I love the updates we get. She always seems to be doing something new and stimulating. Communication in general is excellent. It's peace of mind knowing that your most precious person is being

The staff are all welcoming and really personal with parents and also my child loves going.
The nursery keep daily pictures of what they get up too which so lovely to see from painting to being outside.

Such a lovely setting.
Affectionate and caring staff - it feels like you're handing your baby/toddler over to a member of your family.

The whole team at Selca Daycare are absolutely fantastic and go above and beyond to look after and educate our children. My son has been with Selca for morning sessions and wrap-around since September 2023. I cannot begin to tell you how sad we are that he's now leaving for full-time school. The staff are just exceptional and the care is amazing! Not only that, but the activities they do indoors and outdoors are great
and it really adds to the children's early experiences. My son has learned so much from Selca and will often come home and tell me something new he has learned. As a Mum who usually worries over everything, I've not worried once while my son has been in Selca's care and I am just so grateful for the contribution they have made to his development and how lovely of a young boy he is becoming. Would I return to Selca when we extend the family? Yes. Thank you Selca.

My son has been at Selca for 2 years plus. To say he enjoys it there is the biggest understatement ever. To see your child so happy is a joy and he has lived his best life at Selca. He wakes up at 6 and the first thing he will say is School!

Selca are an absolutely fantastic nursery setting, I recommend them to everyone and anyone who asks. Having previously used another local nursery for my first child, I can honestly say the service is worlds apart from Selca. They keep you updated and informed throughout the day with regular pictures
of the activities taking place. The communication is incredible including from management. Fantastic value for money, which in today's world is exactly what you want. I really really cannot thank the staff at Selca for the level of care they provide for my child. I trust them wholeheartedly to care for her.

Our little one has been going to Selca full time since January. The staff are really good with him and he has an absolute blast everyday. We get regular updates on his activities and feeding etc. And lots of lovely pictures and videos. They also ask assist his development and we are very much looking

I’m really happy with Selca, Pencoed. Each member of staff is absolutely lovely. They’re welcoming and happy every single day. They tailor what they offer to suit individual needs like no other nursery I know of. They’re incredibly flexible, accommodating and helpful, and always available to answer
any questions. They have a really big open hall which the children love to run around in and explore the different activity stations that are laid out. I love that they can burn off energy even when they’re indoors because the room is so large. They take the children out for walks in the village, to the shops and the park regularly, which I love. They use an app to update you on their daily activities and food that they’ve eaten, which is really useful, and it comes with a daily photo as well. They have been really helpful with figuring out tax-free childcare, the free hours etc, as well, so I can’t fault them.

My son has been attending three days a week since Selca opened in Pencoed in January. The staff are always helpful, and it’s lovely that the children are all happy leaving. The app, which is updated throughout the day with photos and information, is great, and you feel like you can keep up to date with
what they are doing.
The wrap-around care provided is a huge help for us with our son attending afternoons in school and us working full time, it’s a long day, but he’s always keeping busy and worn out when we collect him.
Can’t fault all the staff and the commitment they have to the children!

The wonderful team at Selca provide wraparound care for my little boy from school five days a week. They are so welcoming and accommodating and have really taken the time to help my child adjust to a new nursery setting. They have gotten to know my son and vice versa since opening, and he absolutely
loves it there! The food they provide is amazing; they always do extra little activities with the kids, and I honestly couldn’t be happier with Selca!
They have amazing resources, make craft objects, and provide excellent space for learning and play!
On the management side, they are quick to respond to emails and always so lovely.

My children have been using Selca Day Nursery for around four years. My eldest went to Llanharan, and my son is now in the sister one. I can honestly say I would recommend the nursery to anyone. Every single member of staff has always been pleasant, enthusiastic and welcoming to our children and us.
I have never once felt anxious leaving the children there and knowing they are in the best hands.
The children have always had fun, and I love the daily pictures/updates. Communication is excellent and feels lucky that the children have such a lovely nursery on our doorstep.

My little boy is non-verbal and so I was apprehensive about leaving him in a nursery setting. However, the wonderful staff at Selca Day Nursery have made him feel comfortable and adapted ways that work well with my little fella. He absolutely loves one member of staff in particular, and I feel his time
with Selca Day Nursery has helped him to be able to settle into a school setting more easily when the time comes. There are daily reports via an app on my phone which usually include photos so I can see what fun he's been up to. I use the free childcare offer but unlike some nurseries, he has meals and snacks included in his day without any extra cost to myself. Overall I would highly recommend Selca Day Nursery to anyone looking for childcare within the Llanharan area.
