Great place, all the staff are professional, but more importantly they're fun. There's a lovely garden that the kids go out to with tonnes of fun stuff. I suspect my two kids have a way better time here than at home!
Great jobs guys.

What can I say? Busy Bees at Canterbury is fantastic.
The staff are friendly and helpful, my daughter's key person is outstanding and so helpful when I need advice.
I love that she goes outside so much and uses the wonderful large garden.
One of the highlights for me is the awesome food that the
chef cooks, his food always smells amazing and my daughter eats all of everything every time she is in nursery, I cook the same thing at home and she will not eat it!
I would highly recommend this nursery.

I am very pleased with the care given to my little girl at nursery and feel that she is happy and confident to attend often giving me just a backwards glimpse as she goes to explore with her friends. Her dedicated key person provides fun and engaging activities that challenge her and support her development.
Her room offers free flow access to outdoors meaning she is able to make decisions on what she would like to do and when.
The meals offered are outstanding and my daughter enjoys them all and I'm happy because they are well balanced and nutritious.
Staff are professional and will always take the time to talk to me about my daughter and her day.
I couldn't recommend this nursery enough and my baby son will start attending in January.

Current Review Score: 7.8 (7.792)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 7.8 (7.792) out of 10 for Busy Bees Canterbury is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.5 out of 5 from 2 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.3 out of 5 from 2 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.542 for Busy Bees Canterbury is calculated as follows: ( (13 Excellents x 5) + (11 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 24 Ratings = 4.542

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 3.25 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Busy Bees Canterbury is based on 2 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 = 3.125

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 80 number of registered child places is 16. 2 Positive Reviews ÷ 16 = 0.125

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Centre Director

I have managed the Canterbury nursery since we opened in 2006 and I was previously the manager of another nursery in Kent. I have been working with children for 19 years and have gained my NNEB Diploma in Nursery Nursing and my Advanced Diploma in Childcare and Education. I also have a Grade A certificate in Advanced Practice in Working with Babies. Most recently I have worked towards my Leadership and Capability Programme which has furthered my knowledge in management.

During my time at Canterbury I have had the opportunity to gain additional training and experiences which I use to support my staff team at the nursery. These include SENCO, Safeguarding and First aid.

I genuinely believe that working with children is the best job in the world. Our team at Canterbury know how privileged we are to be working with children in some of the most important years of their lives. It is an honour that parents entrust us with their children’s care and we do our best to ensure that they have a fantastic nursery experience while learning so much at the same time.

I am passionate about working well in partnership with parents as they are their children’s first and most enduring educators. I am also keen to develop the staff’s skills, knowledge and understanding within childcare. It gives me great satisfaction to see them work their way up within the nursery and develop their career.

Our staff hold qualifications ranging from Level 2 in Childcare and Development to a BA (Hons) Degree in Primary Education. Our Assistant Manager holds Early Years Professional Status. Our team at Canterbury are dedicated to providing the best possible standard of care for children’s learning and development and work hard to ensure individual children’s needs are met.
