Busy Bees Leicester Blaby nursery opened in 2009. It is situated on the outskirts of Blaby.

It offers a warm, welcoming and stimulating environment and provides a broad range of play-based activities for children to learn and grow.

The self contained baby unit has play areas, quiet areas, a calming sleep room and practical eating/feeding areas. The play area is bright, spacious and fun. Babies and toddlers have direct access to the outdoors where they can explore a wonderful area of both planned and spontaneous activities to discover the world around them.

The free flow environment allows the children to choose where they would like to play with access to bikes and outdoor play equipment.

Highly motivated and enthusiastic staff team provide top quality care and learning for all children. Between them, they have a wealth of experience and qualifications.

My son loves attending nursery and I feel the experience has given him confidence and social skills. The staff are fantastic and so approachable. He's enjoyed doing more structured activities now that he's in the preschool room and I feel confident this will help when he transitions to school.

Absolutely love the nursery.
Everyone that I have had the pleasure of meeting always goes above and beyond.
My children love coming and get excited every morning.
They do so many activities that the children love.
They also include the parents in a lot of activities.
They keep you up to date
on everything that is happening with your children.
You can also speak to them in confidence about anything and they will always do what they can. I really would recommend this nursery to everyone.

We have two children at Busy Bees Leicester Blaby and both are thriving. The staff are warm, friendly and engaging and both my son and daughter go in so happily each morning, excited to see their friends and the staff. Our son is in the pre-school room and the amount of activities they do with the children
is amazing; he's always talking about what he has learnt and in addition to this, the preparation for transition to school is beyond what we could have expected. Our daughter is currently in the baby room and has so many opportunities to learn with lots of indoor and outdoor play. Having already been through the transition of moving through the rooms with our son, we know she will continue to love her time at Busy Bees Blaby.

Great standard of care provided for our daughter. Our older daughter also previously attended the nursery and had a great experience. Friendly staff and clean facilities. Would highly recommend to all local parents.

My little boy has recently started Busy Bees Blaby. All the staff are so welcoming and offer a range of amazing activities for him to have various opportunities that he loves and enjoys which has made the settling in a lot easier for him. Being a full time working mum, I often feel guilty for sending
him into nursery full time. (Mum guilts are the worst haha). But the love and the care the staff members throughout the whole nursery give him, makes me feel at ease. It’s lovely to see him happily walk into nursery each morning and be so happy and cheeky when I’m collecting. Couldn’t recommend this nursery enough!

My child attends nursery 1 day a week and started in the baby room - she has recently moved to the 2s room and her transition support has been amazing. She remains to be so happy at Busy Bees Blaby and has made lots of friends. All staff members have been friendly at handover and it has been great to
be met by the manager in the mornings - my daughter loves this each week and I think this gives great consistency for the children to see a friendly familiar face. Would highly recommend Busy Bees Blaby and we are so glad we chose this nursery for our little girl.

My two children attend this nursery and I couldn’t be happier with their care. The manager is so warm, friendly and approachable and is always very professional, open and honest.
The staff at Busy Bees are very professional, friendly and approachable and all take great care in their roles and are
excellent advocates for children.
During the pandemic the staff have been even more attentive, supportive and professional and have enabled myself and my husband to go to work, knowing that our children are safe and cared for.
The manager and the team always keep us informed of what’s happening at the nursery with regular emails and texts and the new app is a great way to follow our children’s progress and have a look at what they are doing day to day.
I couldn’t recommend this nursery enough. I was so anxious as a parent to leave my children at nursery and I have always been completely reassured and supported by the manager and the team. They are all fantastic! Thank you!

Absolutely love this nursery! My daughter has been going since she was 8 months old and she’s developed so much since being there and loves the entire staff there. She is always so happy when there and loves playing with her friends and doing loads of different things she doesn’t have the opportunity
to do at home.
The staff members are always so welcoming and make your child feel so at home and loved, I would recommend this nursery to everyone because they really are incredible!

Our little boy has been attending Busy Bees Blaby for over a year and loves it! He is happy going in every morning and happy when we collect him so we know he is being well looked after and having fun. The staff are lovely and are really helping with his development; they do lovely crafts with the children
throughout the year and particularly for ‘events’ which is nice for us to see when he brings them home. He has just moved into the next age room and has settled in really well. We can’t recommend the nursery enough! The only things we would welcome an improvement on is the front outside which could do with some maintenance and upkeep (the outside space where the children play is lovely), and the fees are more expensive than other nurseries in the area and other nearby Busy Bees where nappies are also supplied at some.

My little boy has been coming to this nursery since he was a baby. He is in the preschool room now and ready to start school this year. This nursery has been brilliant for teaching him all the skills he needs to get him started in life. He has learnt so much coming here and has loved every minute. The

After looking at several nurseries, we decided on Blaby Busy Bees as our favourite and we haven't been disappointed with our choice. My son joined Blaby nursery at 9 months old when I went back to work and the staff made us very welcome and my son took to nursery really well thanks to them also.
A
year and a half on and my son loves going to nursery. He tries so hard to tell me all about his day, always comes out happy and tired, which I really appreciate.
Since moving up into the middle room he had come on leaps and bounds. With the lockdown restrictions my son has had no other contact with other children his age other than at nursery as he's an only child. He's learning so much there too. He likes the staff and always talks about who he's going to see the following day at nursery.

I love Busy Bess Blaby. After visiting a large amount of nurseries in the area I found this one was just right for us. My son loves his key worker and she makes a real effort to meet his needs and help him grow and develop. I have referred two friends to this nursery over the past year and a half and
will continue to recommend them to others.

Excellent care given to our two children at every stage of the nursery as they progressed, one having left now to attend school, and our second child currently in the 2-3 years room. Great staff and management who really care about the experience that the children have, and the app has really helped
with communication and updates on progress, especially through the difficult pandemic period.
Some issues with parking area, and pick-up logistics through the pandemic period, but this should not take away from the quality of the childcare provision given to the children.

Our little girl has come on leaps and bounds here, which is testament to the skill, care and dedication of the team. This nursery is so incredibly well managed (both overall and room management) – this is reflected in the positive attitudes of staff and in the wonderful work that goes on within this
place.


They are a really skilled and knowledgeable team, who know their ‘child development’ stuff. They also really ‘know’ and understand our child, so they get the best out of her.


They embrace all of her little quirks and take everything in their stride; implementing beautifully crafted learning exercises, into the day, to help with her development where needed (for instance, when she was refusing to brush her teeth at home). They pay excellent attention to her cultural needs, dietary requirements and to her individual needs - as a unique, little person. We have complete faith in this nursery’s ability to keep our child safe. You cannot put a price on that! Definitely 'outstanding!'

I cannot thank staff enough for their continued amazing efforts in these difficult times.
My boy has thrived at Nursery.
Being an only child I think it’s so important for him to attend to learn social skills, sharing and making friends.
He will be off to ‘big school’ in September the team at Busy

My twins have been attending Busy Bees for about 3 years and I can not recommend it enough. This year was different to last year regards to Christmas party’s and I was worried that my twins would miss out on the experiences they had last December but I’m so pleased that Busy Bees made it extra special
for them with their Christmas party still (smaller scale but twins still thoroughly enjoyed it) Christmas dinners, Christmas jumper days etc. Each year they receive a lovely and very useful Christmas present from the nursery and one also from their key workers. Thank you to all the staff for being fab.

My son transferred nursery’s in November 2020 and started at Busy Bees Blaby in the pre school room. They have been nothing short of fantastic and I am so glad I made the decision to move him. I was very anxious about the move but it was the best decision. He absolutely loves the nursery and is excited
every time I tell him it’s nursery day! The new app has been amazing now we cannot go into the nursery and see our children in the room, it’s so lovely to see what they have been up to and know they are happy.

I am really impressed with Busy Bee's Blaby and their staff.
Not only do I know that my child is being cared for but he is learning and growing constantly and most of all he really enjoys it.
The management and staff at the nursery have been excellent in dealing with and following the government
guidelines in relation to the recent pandemic. Always reminding us how well our children have coped with the situation.
I couldn't have wished for a better place to send my son.

Katie Mahal

Job Title: Centre Director

Hello, my name is Katie Mahal and I really enjoy working for Busy Bees and being the Centre Director here at Busy Bees Leicester Blaby.


I joined Busy Bees Leicester Blaby just over six years ago. I gained my Level 3 qualification through the Busy Bees Training Academy and haven't looked back since. I have worked my way up and became the nursery SENCO, supporting children and families and I still continue with this role now. I then became the Room Leader in Preschool which I continued with throughout lockdown while being a centre that stayed open to key worker parents. After reopening our doors to all our families, I then stepped up to Assistant Centre Director. One year later in 2022, I was then given another exciting opportunity and become Centre Director. I am very grateful for this progression and have loved every minute of the journey. 


I have two boys myself, so my spare time is taken up with after-school clubs during the week and we enjoy long walks, swimming and visiting family at the weekends. 


I'm very proud of my team, we are like a family away from home. They are highly qualified and very dedicated to ensuring the children are kept safe, engaged, and constantly offered exciting, fun, and developmental activities. We see each child as an individual and take into account their interests, their home experiences and areas for development. We are passionate about our parent partnership and are always finding new ways to get parents involved in the nursery and in the development of their children.
