Both of my sons attend Major Minors. My eldest has been going there for over 2.5 years now.
The staff are super friendly, caring, attentive and helpful. I feel both boys feel happy at Nursery and know they are comfortable with the staff. The staff always ensure every child’s needs are being met.
Major
Minors is well organised. They have lots of activities, equipment and materials they access to ensure the children experience and learn lots.
The garden is fantastic, such a huge play area for the children. The children get plenty of fresh air and time to burn off excess energy!
We have nothing bad to say about Major Minors, it’s fab!

We've been particularly impressed with my son's key worker who continuously strives to always meet his needs. His key worker has been especially attentive to his language skills and he has excelled in this area.

Absolutely outstanding nursery, amazing staff and facilities. Before finding a nursery for my son, I visited lots of nurseries to try and find one that I was happy with. The minute I met the manager and had a tour of the nursery, I knew there and then that this was the best nursery and I wouldn't find
another like it!

My son is now at school and my daughter attends. The manager and staff take security and health and safety extremely seriously, they organise and undertake fun and educational activities and games daily. The nursery has a large garden with outdoor equipment and toys for the children. They also keep you up to date on all developments and organise regular parents information evenings and fun seasonal events - what more could you want from a nursery?

You would be hard to find a nursery better than Major Minors Dorking!!

We would have no hesitation in recommending Major Minors. Our daughter has been going for nearly 2 years and has loved every moment. It was nerve wracking to leave my 6-month-old and go back to full-time work but the nursery made it so easy. The range of activities on offer and the fantastic outside
space make for very exciting days. Whilst the structure and high expectations enable the children to make excellent progress against their early developmental goals. Thanks to the lovely staff, We have a very happy and confident toddler!

Love this nursery! Staff are all so friendly and seem to genuinely adore the children in their care. It has a lovely outdoors area that the older children can free-flow in and out of and my son is very happy there.
I've no qualms about returning to work this time round and leaving my second child there.
Would highly recommend to anybody looking for childcare.

My wife and I viewed a number of nurseries before selecting Major Minors for our 9-month-old daughter in 2014. We picked Major Minors because of its purpose-built nature, the warm feeling from staff and the fantastic garden facility. We have not been disappointed and have found the smaller size of
the nursery and inclusive nature across all age groups to benefit our daughter and her development.
We have found the nursery to have great flexibility towards our needs and those of our daughter. The size of the nursery has allowed ourselves and our daughter to know all members of the team and as such makes the transition through age groups and occasional staff movement and change easy for all. We have recommended the nursery to friends and would happily do so again in the future. The additional family events such as the sports day and Christmas bizarre are a great way to meet with other parents and have fun with the children.

Our child has been at Major Minors since he turned one in the summer. We are delighted with how well he has settled in and how happy he seems when we drop and pick him up and put this down to the great staff and management team. The entire team is very friendly and I like that every single member of
staff knows my son by name. There is a fantastic, large and safe garden/outdoor space and I think its great how much time the children get to spend outside and all the outdoor activities that are available to them.

It is also great to see how all the varied activities (indoor and outdoor) are aiding my son's development when he does new things at home that he has learned at nursery. The level of communication and updates on your child's development is also really good. We know we made the right choice selecting this nursery and go to work knowing that our son is safe, very well cared for, learning new things and also having a brilliant time.

My daughter has attended Major Minor's for a year and she absolutely loves going to nursery. We chose it because of the good reviews we'd heard from friends, the relaxed happy atmosphere and the outdoor space. Our daughter started sleeping better, settled into a better routine and ate more varied food
after attending the nursey. They even taught her to cover her mouth when she coughs! Most of all I know she is safe and happy at the nursery.

The staff are friendly, engaged and always answer my questions and deal with any of my concerns. We feel very fortunate to have secured a place for our daughter at the nursery.

Current Review Score: 9.1 (9.115)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.1 (9.115) out of 10 for Busy Bees Dorking Chichester Road is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 6 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.3 out of 5 from 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.833 for Busy Bees Dorking Chichester Road is calculated as follows: ( (61 Excellents x 5) + (10 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 72 Ratings = 4.833

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.282 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Busy Bees Dorking Chichester Road is based on 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 = 3.6

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 44 number of registered child places is 8.8. 6 Positive Reviews ÷ 8.8 = 0.682

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
