In Cheeky Hens, the enhancement of speech, language and understanding of skills is a priority. Daily messy play activities ignite creativity, while focused topics deepen the children's knowledge and understanding of the world around them.

We absolutely love Little Green Rascals in Elvington. Our child has settled so well and quickly. The team makes sure she is always well looked after, and she has come on leaps and bounds in such a short space of time. The instant updates via the Famly app are really useful - allows us to instantly see
what she has had for lunch, how much sleep etc.


The staff are amazing, the food is phenomenal, the daily activities are varied and the care is second to none. We can't say enough good things about the nursery!

Elvington Little Green Rascals is an amazing nursery. Our two daughters are in Pre-school and Cheeky Hens and have an amazing time. The range of activities is extensive, and the Forest School and outside space are both favourites of my two. The meals offered are varied and nutritious. Importantly, the
nursery has a good balance of male/female staff, which the children love. I wish I could spend my days here!

The nursery is beautiful and we really appreciate the outside spaces. Our eldest has been with the nursery for three years now and the nursery has evolved from a stand-alone organic setting into a chain and this is definitely noticeable in the increased rules and regulations, announcements on the nursery
IT system and increasing staff turnover.
The room manager and his key worker are fantastic but the number of children in each group makes for a very busy environment, which can be overwhelming for young kids.
I personally wish the nursery would focus less on ‘add-ons’ such as yoga or sports, and more on making my child happy and settled in a warm and nurturing environment.

We’ve had a fantastic experience with the nursery and I can not recommend it highly enough. Our son was very shy, to begin with, but is now thriving and enjoying himself with close relationships with the team and his key person. The team have been very patient with us and our son in settling in and
always give lots of feedback when we go to collect him.


We love the app and way in which we receive updates in real time about our son and also the fact we can contact the room at any time.


A great location, facilities and above all people.

My son has been at the nursery for about 2 years now and I've been impressed with it from the start. The outdoor space is what - among other things - attracted us first to the nursery and it has proved to be excellent; the kids are outside as much as possible! Since joining the pre-school room my son's
been attending forest school as well which he has loved! The warmth from staff is a constant across all three rooms that my son's been in. My son's current key-worker is particularly excellent - she is able to pick up on the subtlest signals that he needs a bit of a cuddle and that's extremely reassuring for me. There is great care and attention paid to providing a wide variety of activities and stimulus to the kids and letting them pick what they want to do. The food is amazing, my son eats all sorts at pre-school that he wouldn't contemplate at home! This is not the nursery that's the most convenient for us but I haven't once regretted choosing to send my son there.

I now have 2 children attending Little Green Rascals and continue to be extremely satisfied that they are offering the best possible nursery provision available. My eldest daughter started 3.5 years ago and whilst always excellent, throughout that period I've seen the nursery continue to evolve and
improve. The recent transition to online system for daily updates and news, has really helped me with the transition of my second daughter to nursery as I've felt very connected to her and loved seeing real time photos of her day, and given me even greater insight into the vast array of activities that are on offer to children throughout their day, as well as making it even easier to keep in touch with Staff and management.

A close relative has recently suffered from an aggressive form of cancer which led to an operation leaving her with life-changing disabilities. This had a huge impact on my daughter which caused anxiety and fear around the family member which also extended to people being sick and hospitals. Her key
worker and management took the time to schedule a meeting so we could gain an understanding of how to support her in re-establishing a relationship with the family member. The output of the meeting was new books bought for the room with a focus on relevant topics and subtle support through storytelling and drawing! I felt so supported and also impressed with both members of staff involved! Thank you.

This is a great nursery. Communication with parents is excellent. There are a range of stimulating activities planned each day and lots of time spent outside in the fresh air. All the staff are lovely and seem to be happy to be at work. Staff turnover is very low. The food is amazing. The only downsides
are the carpark, which is sometimes hard to find a space in at busy times. The daily rates of the nursery are also pretty expensive, although I think they are comparable to other nurseries in the area.

We have been so impressed by Little Green Rascals, our son joined the Wiggly Worms room back in August 2016 and has just graduated to Dancing Dragonflies this spring. The whole team have been fantastic; really enthusiastic, caring and encouraging with the little ones, professional and friendly towards
us bigger ones. A special thank you to his key worker, who I'm sure is destined for big things. It always makes a painful drop-off and goodbye so much easier, knowing the quality of the day he's going to have, huge thanks to everyone there.

My second child has followed on from his brother and attends this nursery. He has had a milk allergy and asthma and suffers badly with eczema. The care he has been given has been fantastic. The staff have bent over backwards to maintain his skin and inhaler regimes, and the care given to food allergies
is consistent and reliable. Knowing how well he is looked after is a huge reassurance. I would highly recommend this nursery - the staff are a huge asset and deserve a huge amount of praise.

Excellent setting, loving, caring and experienced staff. One member, in particular, is fantastic, can't recommend her enough. This is my second child at nursery and I have been extremely happy with their care for my children teaching confidence, kindness, independence and love.

Perfect nursery for my little girl, she enjoys going and always happy to wave mummy off in the morning. Her key worker is amazing. They have a good food menu and lots of different food to try. She is taken for outside play and her key worker takes on board my comments of what my little girl enjoys.
They give her hugs when needed and explain to her what is right and wrong. I know my little girl is being taken care of and in good hands.

Our daughter started in 'Wiggly Worms' in September and we have nothing but praise for the staff. They made us all feel extremely comfortable with how our baby would be looked after and made sure that we felt we would ask any questions about her care. During the first few weeks, phone calls to check
how she was getting on were welcomed and we were reassured kindly on all occasions. As a result, our daughter settled beautifully and loves going to nursery and all of the staff! Thank you!

I couldn't be happier with the care my one-year-old son gets at Little Green Rascals Organic Day Nursery. His induction was well planned and managed. He receives warmth, kindness and happy engagement from every member of staff and his key/shadow key workers are both fantastic - they've taken the time
to get to know my son's needs and I have every confidence that he's brilliantly looked after in their care.

The team at Little Green Rascals Organic Day Nursery are absolutely fantastic. They show so much care and energy and are devoted to making everyday fun, educational and safe. The setting is fantastic and I love that there is so much space indoors and outdoors and that the children have access to animals
both on and offsite. The food is all organic. The four-week rolling menu looks delicious and balanced and my daughter eats very well! We travel out of our way to come here - that should say it all.
