Spring Seesaw is a purpose-built, modern-day nursery in the heart of Braintree, close to train and bus links. The nursery provides care and education for children from 0 years to 11 years and 11 months, offering flexible sessions and support with 2 years, 3 and 4-years funding and 30 hours funding. From September 2024, the nursery will also be accepting 0-2 year funding.

The nursery is staffed by a team of fully qualified staff who hold safeguarding, paediatric first aid, health and safety, behaviour management, and food hygiene as standard practice; staff also have experience and training with supporting children with special educational needs.

The nursery is proud to have large outside spaces attached to each room as well as a separate forest school area for the children to access freely throughout the session which provide a variety of different physical activities, role play opportunities, mark making opportunities and games.

The setting has close links with John Bunyan infant school which supports and aids the children's transition to reception class and actively promotes parents as partners, holding regular stay and play sessions as well as opportunities for parents to take part in events.

The nursery has a sensory room dedicated for children with additional needs and also hosts weekly forest school sessions within the grounds which is led by the forest school leader.

My grandson attends this lovely nursery. His brother attended until starting school last year. Both children have been extremely happy there, the care is exemplary and the activities always stimulating. Highly recommended.

My son first attended this nursery at the age of two and seemed to take to it instantly. The staff made me feel very at ease leaving him to go back to work and the biggest compliment I can give is that he couldn't wait to get in there each morning. The staff are experienced, fun and imaginative which
makes for a great atmosphere and good environment for learning. The kids seemed to really engage and I was always surprised with how quickly my son picked up on new things. The staff played a huge role in getting my little boy ready to start school and made it such an easy transition for him (and me!).
The manager is great, very approachable and always played an active part in addressing any concerns I had. I have some great memories to look back on for my son's time at nursery and I can't thank them enough.

Spring Lancaster Way is a FANTASTIC nursery. The management and staff are really well-trained, highly knowledgeable and above all really care about all the children there.
My daughter has been attending Spring for 16 months and I have only hugely positive things to say about their care for her. Really
great communication, fantastic and varied activities, and they work with you as a parent to help maximise your child’s development.
I cannot recommend this nursery highly enough.
Loads of great things about it, but the outstanding thing for me is the commitment, positivity and loveliness of all the staff.

Outstanding nursery. We have been using the nursery for 4 years and it gets better. Staff so welcoming and my girls love going there. So helpful and always have time to fill you in with what your children have been up to that day.

My son wasn't keen on going to the nursery at all. He was very shy and didn't want to play a lot with other children. After 3 months we can see a huge difference in our son's behaviour. He finally settled in thanks to the staff.
All the nursery staff are very supportive and professional. My son has
made friends and enjoys his time at the Spring Nursery. He feels happy and most importantly, safe here.
The food is really good and versatile. There are many additional activities available at the nursery (dancing, forest school, sport etc).

My children have been coming to the nursery for over 4 years now and we have always found it to be very welcoming. The staff at the nursery always go that extra mile to person centre your child’s learning journey and the girls always ensure the children have fun whilst at nursery.


We have always

been very pleased with the staff at the setting and enjoyed attending parents evening when you get to see photos and updates of what they have been up to.


My children speak very highly of the staff there and love the bond that they share with the girls, they look forward to going to nursery in the mornings and are always doing something fun when we collect them.


It’s such a pleasure to feel confident in the staff that look after your children and we are very happy with the service they provide. They have always made a huge effort in welcoming each child in their new rooms and settling them into making new friends.

The staff are very friendly and welcoming. My daughter has been here almost 2 years now and the staff have supported her through all her learning and some hardships in our lives. They go above and beyond to help in anyway possible. They bring out the different personalities in each individual child

From the day my daughter started she has been made to feel welcome. As parents we have been kept up to date with progress she has made and areas the nursery staff feel she needs additional support with. She looks forward to going each week and has made some friends which she speaks about often. The
events they put on for the children always brings a smile to my daughter face. Food options are amazing and has encouraged her to try different things.

Sarah holds a level 3 childcare and education qualification, First aid, safeguarding, health and safety, fire awareness and food hygiene qualification and has been working with children for over a year. She is responsible for the health and safety of the nursery. Sarah works in our 3-5 year room.

I am the cook for the nursery, I plan and prepare the meals for the children ensuring they have well-balanced nutritious meals and have the ability to try lots of new foods. I hold a City and Guilds qualification in catering as well as food and hygiene level three and allergen awareness. As well as developing and planning my own menus I provide alternative meals for children with dietary allergies and preferences and actively encourage all the children to become involved in the menu planning too.
