My son recently joined this nursery and he absolutely loves it! All the staff are warm and welcoming, and the environment is clean with lots of learning activities for the children.
My son has settled so well and I feel that the staff genuinely enjoy and care about working with children and that is
what makes the nursery so great!

Please avoid! When we initially started my daughter at Happy Hearts in July 2021 we were very happy with them. But after 4 staff members left, it became clear the nursery was struggling to cope. Invoices were not sent for months, despite parents chasing repeatedly. The staff that left were not replaced
and agency staff brought in to maintain legal ratios. My daughter was not allocated a replacement key worker. Staff knowingly went in with covid! Hygiene was ignored and my potty-trained 3 year old was put in a nappy for the afternoon on more than one occasion even after we requested that it stop! My daughter was devastated. She was frequently bitten, hit or kicked by other children who were known to lash out yet nothing was being done to prevent it. All contact with management ceased. When I formally gave notice to withdraw my daughter I had no response. I couldn't get her out of there fast enough. I'm not sure how this place is still in business!

My daughter had been attending Happy Hearts for the past 3 years and she loves it. Happy Hearts is a small but wonderful nursery. All of the staff are very friendly and take the time to get to know every child well. It is a very loving and nurturing environment.
The sessions are well-timed and the
nursery is open all year round (with the exception of bank holidays). The fees are incredibly reasonable considering what is included in the price. The food is lovely and varied and always includes a hot meal at lunch.
My daughter has come on leaps and bounds at Happy Hearts and I know she will be sad to leave next year.

Happy Hearts is a lovely welcoming environment for little ones. It is small enough to have a family feel but also has great flexibility. The staff are caring and welcoming and seem to know all the children really well.
Both my boys, aged 4 and 23 months are very happy there and enjoy telling me what
they have done each day - my youngest doesn’t want to leave! The nursery have been helpful in recognising a slight speech delay and supporting my eldest with this. There is good communication between nursery and parents.
The food provided is generally healthy and nutritious and all meals provided. There is good structured activity, especially in the pre-school room to help get ready for ‘big school’. It’s so hard deciding on childcare but we’re so pleased that we chose Happy Hearts and I know my eldest will miss it when it’s time to move on.

Current Review Score: 6.5 (6.542)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 6.5 (6.542) out of 10 for Happy Hearts Day Nursery is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 3.4 out of 5 from 2 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.2 out of 5 from 1 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 3.375 for Happy Hearts Day Nursery is calculated as follows: ( (12 Excellents x 5) + (3 Satisfactorys x 3) + (3 Poors x 2) + (6 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 24 Ratings = 3.375

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 3.167 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Happy Hearts Day Nursery is based on 1 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 = 3

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 30 number of registered child places is 6. 1 Positive Reviews ÷ 6 = 0.167

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
