Chestnut House Kindergarten, rated Good by Ofsted (February 2020), provides care for children aged six months to five-years-old, offering children early years education in a safe and secure environment.

Staff at the nursery place strong emphasis on each child’s personal and social development, recognising that each child is different and offering a variety of different resources and activities to accommodate the needs of all children.

The safety and security of children at the nursery is of paramount importance and activities are designed ensuring that children are safe at all times.

Chestnut House provides children with the opportunity to enjoy free-play as well as planned activities that are designed to meet each child’s individual needs and interests according to their personal level of development.

The nursery follows the Early Years Foundation Stage and tailors all activities around this, while pre-school age children follow the Letters and Sounds framework when developing their speech and language skills.

Chestnut House Kindergarten believe that children thrive when there is a positive partnership between the childcare provider and parents. This partnership is characterised by trust and mutual support and parents are encouraged to discuss their child's progress with the nursery team.

Our daughter has been at Chestnut House for 11 months. The staff are amazing. They really know our daughter and have an amazing relationship with her. It is a joy taking her to nursery; she is so happy and is supported and encouraged in all areas of her development. As parents, we couldn't ask for anything
more.

Our experience from the first contact we had with the nursery, the settling in days, to his day to day care currently has been great. Staff have been very friendly, helpful and understanding of how difficult it could be to start sending your one year old to nursery. I have seen staff with my son and
they have been exceptional. He has now developed a good relationship with his key worker and even lets her carry him (rare for him!). We would highly recommend it.
