We’ve been really happy with the team at Monkey Puzzle Billericay, and it really is a home away from home for our daughter. She’s learnt a lot in the time since she’s been there, and her day is clearly packed full of fun and enriching activities. It’s great to know she’s so safe, well looked after and
happy.

Our daughter loves attending Billericay Monkey Puzzle - she always runs in and never looks back at me each morning. The staff are all so friendly and genuinely care for our daughter.


Our daughter has learnt so much over her time there - nursery rhymes, numbers, letters and subjects such as the seasons/weather/how

plants grow/types of animals etc. They also have lots of outdoor play in the garden which has recently been extended and improved.


The food is healthy and varied, and occasionally the children get to make their own food (e.g pizzas) which they love doing.


Most importantly our daughter always goes into nursery with a smile and comes out with a smile, and I never have to worry if she’s ok while she’s there.

Our boy has been there since 6 months and is now 2. The staff has been incredibly patient and nurturing, supporting him through the first half year when he was quite a needy child. He now loves going in and is always happy and chatty. There were also really good activities by external providers (such
as music and movement) that we know he enjoyed very much, and look forward to having them back again when lockdown restrictions are lifted! We have noticed all the new words and good habits he has picked up from nursery, and are really happy with his development. We would happily recommend Monkey Puzzle Billericay.

My son has attended Monkey Puzzle for almost 2 years and we have been very happy with his care. As some others have commented, the building itself is a little run down, but this is no reflection on the nurturing environment the staff offer. As a teacher myself, I have been very impressed with how well
the staff know and understand my son's needs. They always give a detailed report at the end of each day and have successfully helped my son navigate potty training and the arrival of his baby brother (who will also be attending Monkey Puzzle).
In addition, the recent introduction of the parent app allows parents to track their child's day in detail. I have no hesitation in recommending Monkey Puzzle.

Thank you so much for your lovely review, Abigail. I just thought I would let you know the nursery has recently gone through a complete renovation, it's just sad due to covid restrictions parents are not able to come in and see it. Our garden has also recently gained lots of new additions, such as new peddle bikes, large soft equipment, and a new and improved mud kitchen. An updated nursery tour video will be uploaded soon so all our parents can see all the wonderful improvements that have been made! We can't wait to show everyone.

Excellent nursery with a great focus on children’s development. Parents received daily feedback on activities (with pictures on the parent app) and regular observations about their own child (something they did, say, a new skill they develop etc). And it also ties in with the official EYFS curriculum.
The
nursery also adapts to certain parents’ requests (e.g. we prefer our son not to have sweet things to eat containing refined sugars and the staff have kindly accommodated this at every meal).
I think the best testimony to the quality of the nursery is the way our son runs at the door of the nursery in the morning and quickly jump inside when he’s let in by a practitioner (due to Covid safety measures of course).

Both of our daughters have attended Monkey Puzzle, starting at 4 years, and 7 months old.
Both the baby room and pre-school room have been great for our girls. Our eldest, who has now left for school, really enjoyed the pre-school room. The learning opportunities, day trips, and the work the practitioners
did in getting her ready for school were great. She made some lovely friends there and she thinks very highly of the teachers there.
Our youngest is still attending, she loves the garden, the art activities, the food and playing in the toddler room. She is always keen to go into nursery and loves the practitioners, she talks about them on the weekends! She settled in there quickly.
We also like getting the updates, on the parent app, on what she is up to and we appreciate the milestone reports and parents evenings that give us a good guide on development.

Both my children have attended Monkey Puzzle and loved it. The team are amazing, they really care and the activities they do every day are really impressive. We looked at what felt like every nursery in the area before we put my oldest in and we picked Monkey Puzzle due to the team and the environment

The girls who work in the nursery are all very good but the environment is cramped and often a little tired looking and the owners have a tendency to put profit margins before honesty in my view. I took my daughter out in May and it's the best decision I've ever made. When I saw the comparison between
this nursery and other establishments locally there wasn't really any question about moving her out, as the offering elsewhere was so obviously considerably better. I just wish it hadn't taken me three years to realize it.

My son has been attending Monkey puzzle for two years now and I cannot recommend Monkey Puzzle enough. When I first visited the place I wasn’t sure as I thought the building and outside area seemed a bit small, however location wise its perfect for commuters travelling to London as it's within close
proximity to the station. The management team and practitioners really make this place run brilliantly. The Management team make a huge effort to ensure the kids have a vast variety of activities, both fun and educational like phonics, maths, french, nature studies etc. They have events once a week where they bring in entertainment like ‘Jungle Jive’ or ‘Wild fangs’. He’s made lots of great friends and has close bonds with the practitioners. When we pick him up, the practitioners always have a detailed review of his day and seem to take a genuine interest by commenting on his developments and personality.

I can't speak highly enough of the care given to my children at Monkey Puzzle. My daughter loved her time there and now my son goes to the nursey and the care continues to be fantastic.
My son has delayed speech and the time and patience staff have given him has been amazing. One staff member has been
working with me to teach him Makaton signing. It's great to know that when he's there he is able to communicate as he does at home.
I love the fact that there are extra activities on most days which are all included in the price you pay. Singing, sports etc, all included. I would always recommend this nursery to people and to be honest, when my son goes to school in a couple of years it will be hard to say goodbye to all the staff at Monkey Puzzle.

Both of my children have attended the nursery over the past 4 years. I’ve consistently found it an extremely nurturing and caring environment. My children have always been so happy to attend, building up strong relationships with both the staff and other children. There is a broad variety of activities
both from the internal staff and external classes brought in (sport, French, phonics, music). The variety of activities gives a great range of development opportunities for the children and ensures they are well prepared for school.

My daughter has been attending here for nearly 6 weeks after moving from another nursery and I can hand on heart say that this is the happiest she has been. She enjoys the daily activities that are provided, especially the phonics, which she mentions all the time. The daily routine is great and there's
always plenty for the children to do. The atmosphere is always welcoming, and she is always very happy to go, even asking to go on weekends! All the staff are all very friendly and are always happy to help with any issues. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

I cannot recommend this nursery highly enough. My little boy has attended since November last year and absolutely loves it. The staff make it what it is, their compassion, patience and kindness know no bounds and they have also given me great advice to help my child’s development. Two particular members
of staff deserve special praise. As a first time mum leaving your son alone with strangers is never easy but you made the transition a dream. Thank you.

Our eldest attended Monkey Puzzle for over a year and our youngest is still there now. I couldn't recommend them enough. They are kind, nurturing and have been great at preparing our children ready for school. All of the staff are so approachable and go above and beyond to ensure the children are at
the centre of everything they do. The most important point to make is that both of my children have been/are happy at Monkey Puzzle. Highly recommend.

We have been very happy with our child's experience of Monkey Puzzle. Our child has been attending for the past 3 months and has settled in very well. The staff who work there are all very friendly and know our child's name, even if they do not work in the same room. Our child has developed many new
skills and qualities since joining the nursery and is always happy to be there. Routines have been established very quickly and they are always creating new activities and ways to stimulate the children's development.

Hi, I am Daisy! I am the Manager, and I started here in 2016 as a Level 2 apprentice. I quickly gained my Level 2 and Level 3 qualifications and then became the Pre-School Senior. I loved this role! I enjoyed the concept of getting the children ready for school, and teaching confidence and independence, although the goodbyes are so hard! I became the Deputy Manager after this, and now the Manager! It's been really good to see how the other side of the job runs. I have the best of both worlds, admin and fun with the children! What more could you want?!
