A light and spacious nursery in Finsbury Park

Right in the heart of Finsbury Park with direct access to the Finsbury Park tube station situated 5 minutes away from the nursery. Finsbury Park Day Nursery and Preschool is within the catchment area for schools in the Borough of Islington, Haringey and Hackney.

The opening times are 7:30am - 6:30pm and offer a variety of full and part-time places providing high-quality care and education for children aged 3 months to 5 years.

Finsbury Park Day Nursery and Preschool is a light, spacious, purpose-built day nursery all on one level the rooms all have direct access to outdoor garden areas.

Each child is individually planned for to focus on their education and development by their very own key person. Staff work alongside parents to ensure that every child's individual needs are met at all times. The friendly and enthusiastic staff team have a wealth of knowledge and understanding of childcare, which is continued through regular training to ensure the highest quality practice possible.

The nursery has been awarded an Ofsted rating of ‘Good’ (July 2018) for their commitment to high quality childcare and education.

Great experience! My daughter loves to go to the nursery. Overall everything is smooth. The only thing that I don't like- the staff changes quite regularly. Everybody is very nice and competent but my daughter is quite attached to her key person who is leaving! Other staff left as well but overall great
facilities, great food, great staff.

I highly appreciate the care provided to my son who is 13 months at this nursery. They helped my son settle and he is a happy toddler. He does not cry when we drop him in the morning and is a happy chap when we collect him in the afternoon.

My little one absolutely loves coming to nursery. All the staff are very friendly and caring. My daughter always talks about the staff and children in her room and always asking when she is next in.
You get a very welcoming feeling which is the thing you want when you walk into the nursery.

My little boy started at Asquith as a 10-month-old and remained until he started primary school. It is a beautifully equipped nursery site and the garden renovations made a real difference. The best thing about the nursery was that I always felt my little one was given affection, supervision and care.
There were particular "stars" over the years, all of whom went out of their way to challenge and teach as well as to care. Areas that I felt could be improved included quality of written communication, the degree of education and structure as children got older and above all, staff retention and contact as to when they moved on. But overall it was a good experience albeit poor in the first six months and I was grateful to many there.

Thank you for your feedback, it is most welcome. We have been working on many of the issues that you have raised over the past few months to improve our service.


Following a change in management, staff have been working more closely as a team which has resulted in improved staff retention. We have promoted a few staff within the nursery to room leader. We will continue to invest in our staff to ensure this continues.


Our new room leader in our Pre-school room, who has instilled a solid routine and introduced more focus on learning and development through play and interest in preparation for school.


Our resources are now replenished each month to maintain interest.


We have created lots more areas to explore and learn on the way in every room.


We have taken on board parents feedback and communication and as a result is a lot stronger. Alongside our regular newsletters, we have created a booklet detailing each member of staff and who each child's key person is for parents.


We do operate an open door policy and greatly appreciate parents feedback to contrinue to improve our services for children and their parents.

Her journey began at Finsbury Park Nursery in 2013, where she started as a nursery assistant. Through her dedication and hard work, she steadily progressed to become the nursery manager, a role in which she truly thrives.


As a nursery manager, she embraces the opportunity to support and nurture young children's development, working closely with families to create a supportive and enriching environment at Finsbury Park. Her extensive experience in the early years sector has equipped her with a profound understanding of the developmental milestones and needs of young children. Job Title: Deputy Manager

Mariam has been working in the early years since 2011, beginning at Finsbury Park in May 2018 as a third in charge and progressing to Deputy Manager.


She holds a Level 3 qualification in childcare and a degree in Early Childhood Studies.


She enjoys working with young children and creating a stimulating environment for them to develop and learn in.
