Our experience has been generally very positive. The nursery is very light and spacious. There is a lot of outdoor space which they made use of. The children have a lot of activities going on, including some exercises. The food is prepared on site and our child has shown enormous enthusiasm for it.
Above all our child is happy there and has formed good bonds with the staff. The management has recently changed and there have been a number of changes almost all for the better. Although there was some staff turn over at the time it seems to have settled again. Our only significant reservation is that the invoicing system is incomprehensible even to two highly numerate people like ourselves.

I have had a very positive experience with Bringing Up Baby. The staff are professional and provide my daughter with a fun, varied and educational learning experience. It is a well run nursery with a professional, hard working team. My daughter doesn't want to leave at the end of the day, which is always
a positive sign!
I would highly recommend them!

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.2 (8.222) out of 10 for Little Garden The Clapham Day Nursery & Pre-School is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 3 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.5 out of 5 from 3 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.694 for Little Garden The Clapham Day Nursery & Pre-School is calculated as follows: ( (26 Excellents x 5) + (9 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 36 Ratings = 4.694

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 3.528 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Little Garden The Clapham Day Nursery & Pre-School is based on 3 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.25

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 54 number of registered child places is 10.8. 3 Positive Reviews ÷ 10.8 = 0.278

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Nursery Manager

My journey with Little Garden Day Nurseries started in August 2017 at our wonderful Brentford Day Nursery and Pre-school, as Deputy Manager. In my first managerial position, I have had the privilege of working with some outstanding managers at my previous nursery, I feel I was prepared and structured to take this challenge and still striving to be.

Since I was a little girl I had always wanted to be a teacher, I used to love playing role-play with my cousins back home in the Seychelles (where I grew up). My inspiration also comes from my older sister who is a Montessori teacher currently working in Italy.

I have over 15 years’ experience within the childcare sector and I have loved every minute of my job whatever role I have embarked on. When Little Garden changed ownership in 2019, I met Andy Morris and his wonderful team. From then on, I have learned the phrase ‘Every day is a school day’ - although we are teaching the children, the children also have an impact on us. We all learn something new every day. I must say this is one phrase I will carry with me for the rest of my life.
At the beginning of this year, the whole world began battling COVID-19. At Little Garden, we went from being a team to a family. We strive to keep everyone safe and our mission remains the same, we work tirelessly to ensure everyone in our care is kept safe, and their well-being and safety are met and as part of this, I was transferred to be the Clapham Manager.

My name is Souad and I have worked at Clapham Day Nursery for just over two years.

My journey in childcare started in 2014, I had progressed to preschool room leader, during this time I developed my management skills and knowledge. In 2020 I was thankful that an opportunity opened for the Deputy Manager position, to which I was successful.

I am passionate about my role within the nursery, and it is amazing working with such a fantastic team. I am excited to move the nursery forward and work alongside a manager that strives for outstanding.
