Rated Outstanding by Ofsted (December 2013), Carlton Hill Nursery & Pre-School provides childcare and education to children from birth to 5 years old.

They're in Maida Vale, close to the tube. The Nursery is based in a beautiful period building with a spacious garden.

The experienced staff plan the day’s ‘free play’ and ‘focused activities’ with the children. They might make wooden toys and props, cook in the home corner, take part in science experiments like 'Fizzy Balls', climb trees, grow fruit and veg, or spot insects in the ‘jungle’... there are so many ways to learn!

The children eat well too. The on-site chef prepares all meals using healthy recipes from LEYF’s menu.

I cannot recommend Carlton Hill Nursery enough. Our daughter has been there from 8 months of age to 3 and a half.
She has thrived and really felt safe and loved in what was really like another family for her. We cannot thank enough the great staff (the director and administrator) and of course the
wonderful teachers she's had throughout the years!
Carlton Hill Nursery is located inside a beautiful house, but the greatest thing is the outside space, with a very large garden. This allows all kids to be outside when it's sunny: the babies have a safe, separate space to play, while the bigger children can enjoy activities like gardening or discovering animal life.
Carlton Hill Nursery also provided regular feedback and information: photos and descriptions of activities on an app and a detailed one-to-one meeting with the main teacher every year. We were amazed at everything our daughter learnt there!

Fantastic nursery with staff that genuinely care for the children. My son absolutely thrived at Carlton Hill Nursery & Pre-School, he started as a very shy 11-month-old and blossomed into a happy, intelligent and confident toddler. We couldn’t have asked for anything more.

We were extremely impressed by this nursery. Our son's key worker and other nursery staff were incredibly nurturing, kind and compassionate toward our son. They provided excellent opportunities for him to learn and grow. Thank you, Carlton Hill Nursery & Pre-School, for all that you did to give our

Our son was at Carlton Hill Nursery & Pre-School for 3 years, starting at 9 months. The team at Carlton Hill, in all the different rooms, have been caring and kind and have made our son into the happy and confident boy he is today. Throughout his time at nursery, he loved the garden where they did playing,
gardening and even marshmallow toasting. I would highly recommend the nursery to anyone.

My daughter attended Carlton Hill for 2+ years and we were extremely happy with it. The care, attention and nurturing from staff and management were exceptional. My daughter began to develop her personality and thrive with the help of her carers.
Nursery management is outstanding. Very responsive
and extremely good in looking out for their children.
Also, an enormous garden for kids to play in is a major selling point, especially in these crazy times.
I would highly recommend Carlton Hill to any parent.

A very warm and welcoming atmosphere for our little one. The setting itself is in a beautiful building, and a big garden and lots of space outdoors. The staff there works with passion, and there is not a big turn over like some other places, and there is a continuity with key person for the child. I
could see a good range of resources and activities. Lovely staff, lovely place.

My daughter is extremely happy going to Carlton Hill nursery every day. She is engaged in multiple activities with the teachers and other children. The environment is super clean and the outdoor space is brilliant for children this age. The care she receives from the staff is excellent and she is flourishing

Carlton Hill Nursery is a fabulous little nursery in St John’s Wood area. The staff and teachers are extremely kind, nurturing and receptive to your children’s needs. Our son attended when he turned 1 year old, and the transition was seamless. It soon got to a stage where he was excited to go every
morning and sad to leave at the end of the day. They also offer healthy meals, which is really convenient, and have a really nice outdoor space for the kids to play around so they don’t have to leave the nursery. Overall we were very happy with the development we saw in our son, and most importantly, he appeared to be happy every day and well-nourished and taken care of. Special mentions to his key worker, and the head of the nursery for always keeping an eye out for him. Overall we would highly recommend this nursery to anyone living in the area. We, unfortunately, had to move our son after a while due to practical reasons and were quite sad about it. We wish the team all the very best!

The nursery is located in a close distance to our home, which makes pick-ups and drop-offs very convenient. The outdoor space is a massive plus, given the fact that no other nursery really can provide that.

I love this nursery! My daughter is happy to arrive there every morning, she became confident and developed beautifully.
She loves her key-person and I have complete confidence in them.
It has a great outdoor area where they grow vegetables and play, freshly cooked meals, a lot of messy play and
activities.

Carlton Hill Community Nursery has been a very caring environment for my son since he was 10 months old. He has learned very good communication and social skills, developed good interaction with kids and created friends. It would be great and useful for more frequent updates on kid's development and

Carlton Hill Community Nursery is a wonderful place for young children. All teachers and staff are very caring and welcoming, we feel like we are part of family there. Our daughter started at 7 months and from the beginning, we were made to feel at ease when settling her in. We are informed every day
about our daughter's development and general daily routine.
She is very happy there and seems to enjoy all activities. We can see enormous progress since she joined and this is all thanks to the excellent staff at Carlton Hill Community Nursery. I would thoroughly recommend the nursery to anyone.

The most important and extraordinary experience for me and my son. Staff always care for my son. He learnt so much this year, manners and discipline. Our daughter has been very happy at Carlton Hill Community Nursery. The staff is caring and loving. She always comes back singing the new song they've learnt at school. The garden is ideal and we love that they always take them outside and teach them about nature. It's nice to know and see that she

My son has thrived at Carlton Hill having moved him from another local nursery. The management help to create a homely feel a theme which is echoed by all the staff. The premises are wonderful, a quiet location away from busy streets and it has a wonderful garden which is one of the main attractions.
Each floor is structured in a way to create different spaces for the children including reading and ICT as well as art and water play. This helps to manage the children and allow for more one on one time for the pre-school children.

We are extremely happy with our son's progress and overall development since beginning at Carlton Hill at 7 months old. The staff in the baby rooms are attentive, caring, warm and engaging with both the children and parents. I am very pleased with the variety of activities they offer throughout the
day that keep my toddler engaged and learning in all aspects of development--sensory, fine motor, communication, gross motor and social skills. Additionally, he has become a great eater from the variety of foods offered at meal times. I feel confident that he is safe and thriving while I am away at work. I am especially thankful for the stunning garden Carlton Hill has for the children to visit daily, sometimes more than once a day! I am looking forward to the new implementation of electronic correspondence and daily updates that the nursery is starting--it will be lovely to see pictures of my little one each day!

Our experience with Carlton Hill Community Nursery has been very positive and would highly recommend it to other parents.
The teachers are very caring and approachable and the kids get the right balance of structured activities and free play.

Carlton Hill Community Nursery, unlike our previous nursery, is not just a daycare. They provide an environment where there is plenty of learning and fun within a structured framework, which I believe is very important when it comes to preparing my child for pre-reception/reception.
Our experience
with the staff has been positive – they are friendly, approachable and have taken a genuine interest in our son’s welfare. As a result, our son has shown a greater enthusiasm for learning and continues to surprise us with what he has learned from his time at the nursery. We are very happy parents and wouldn’t hesitate for a moment in recommending Carlton Hill.
