Funding & Fees Guide for Mouse House Nursery School SW11

  • All our kindergartens offer the government 15 hour funding for eligible children over two, and the government universal 15 hour funding for children over three which provides funding for a nursery education place for up for 15 hours per week to all 3-4 year olds.

Children are eligible for the funding from the term after they turn the required age. The child’s birthday needs to occur on or before March 31st, August 31st and December 31st to be eligible for the funding from the following term.

We also offer a number of full day places, which will include the 30 funded hours for those families that meet the government eligibility criteria.

We will apply to the borough council on behalf of parents once a child is eligible. The funding provided does not cover the total cost of placing a child at The Kindergartens, therefore we charge an additional hours and services package. The additional services charge is due to the cost of providing qualified staff of a high calibre; maintaining a smaller teacher to child ratio; the provision of peripatetic staff to deliver extra curricular activities including sport, music/drama and dance, in addition to Forest School, snacks and other consumables.

    The funded hours are offered between 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. each day.

Please call our admissions team to discuss the fees for your chosen setting.

    Fee sheet available upon request.

We have been blown away by our son’s development since starting Mouse House. The meticulous curriculum is second to none and you can clearly see how it is a stepping stone to prepare your child for their next educational steps. The staff are friendly and invested in our child’s education and wellbeing.
He loves being there and learning with his friends. Whilst the nursery doesn’t have any green space of its own, it’s located right next to Wandsworth Common and the children are frequently out. Having had a recent makeover, the facilities are otherwise very impressive.

Both our daughters absolutely loved their time at Mouse House. The teachers nurtured their creativity, encouraged their curiosity and fostered an eagerness to learn. They always went to nursery happy and came back home happy.
We are very grateful to the teachers and management at Mouse House for providing
a home away from home for our children and getting them ready to start their journey at school. We have and will continue to highly recommend Mouse House to other parents!

Both our children have attended Mouse House during the past few years. They both thrived and enjoyed their time at the nursery. They became more confident and sociable after one year.
The nursery also prepared them well for the reception. Our older one found reception and year 1 very easy, due to
the good foundation the nursery gave to him. The teachers at the nursery are warm and caring. They showed great affection and responsibility towards our children. Staff retention was good as both of my children managed to be looked after by the same teachers.

Brilliant environment for a young child. We've attended other nurseries in the area and our child was much happier in the Mouse House setting. We have two boys and his younger brother will also join Mouse House very soon!

My daughter has been very happy at Mouse House Nursery School all year which is the acid test for me. The teachers are really kind and fun and the headmistress is engaging and helpful. The weekly schedule includes lots of diverse activities and outings which are great for the children's development.

I could not have hoped for a better start to my son's education. The teaching staff are incredible and were so attuned to his needs throughout. We had daily relevant feedback as to his progress and happiness and it was never too much trouble to schedule additional chats when we wanted to explore something
in more detail. Behavioural and emotional challenges that we met along the way were dealt with by implementing an aligned 'home and nursery' strategy that we worked on developing and implementing together. I felt the school and teaching staff were exceptional and went above and beyond in making my child feel secure, loved, happy and in creating an environment that he wanted to be a part of. The preparation for transition to 'big school' was also excellently well thought through. Mouse House have prepared my son for his next steps brilliantly. I can never thank you all enough.

My wife and I couldn't be more happy with the experience our son had first at Mouse Hole and then transitioning to Mouse House. Both have been superb, and in the latter, he has really flourished under the caring and considerate attention given by all the staff. He absolutely loved it. I wouldn't hesitate
to recommend it to anyone.

Our 3-year-old son moved to the area just 2 weeks before school started, coming from daycare and a single child to a new school, a new house, and becoming an older brother, all at once. All the teachers helped him settle in very quickly, he had no problem whatsoever and came back from school excited
every day. He was eager to show off his drawing, letter and number tracing, and any stories he heard from school every day at pick up. All the staff do amazing jobs and we would absolutely recommend the nursery to anyone.

A warm and caring nursery school - our son joined in September 2020 after a long period at home. Transition and settling in were managed seamlessly and he has never looked back! From exciting topics and high-quality afternoon clubs ranging from sports to drama and science, there is a wide choice of
activities to keep the children engaged. My son has finished this term, more than ready to start school in the Autumn with confidence in his reading, writing, and maths ability beyond what I anticipated - and most importantly a love of learning instilled.

My son is always happy to be there. He doesn’t like weekends as the nursery is closed. He keeps on asking when the school is back on again.
Lovely teachers and a lovely nursery. I can’t recommend it enough. Thank you so much for the lovely year.

We are very happy with our daughter's experience at Mouse House. The staff is great and welcoming, her teachers are fantastic and really know how to get the children engaged. Forest school is amazing and she loved learning interesting things while jumping in puddles and playing in the 'wild'. The communication
with parents is brilliant, they make sure we get updates about our daughter's progress, and now that we're allowed back into the school we're invited inside once a week during drop-off to see what she's been doing and have a chat with the teachers. For those who sign up for the extended day programme, there's a great choice of afternoon clubs (2 options per day). The school has a very active community of parents and teachers, always organising parties, events and using them to raise money for the school preferred charities. Now that she's going to school, we're looking forward to our son joining Mouse House next year.

Current Review Score: 9.1 (9.102)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.1 (9.102) out of 10 for Mouse House Nursery School SW11 is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 8 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.3 out of 5 from 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.802 for Mouse House Nursery School SW11 is calculated as follows: ( (74 Excellents x 5) + (16 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 91 Ratings = 4.802

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.3 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Mouse House Nursery School SW11 is based on 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.8

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 80 number of registered child places is 16. 8 Positive Reviews ÷ 16 = 0.5

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
