St Quintins is a truly exceptional nursery. The staff are compassionate, competent and nurturing - all the values that are a necessity to providing outstanding childcare. Management are always willing to go above and beyond to help and support parents with anything they require.
The environment and
atmosphere of the nursery is homely, bright and full of colourful images and artwork that the children have created. My son managed to meet all his milestones - his language, numeracy and creativity have come a long way through the activities and education that the nursery provides. The nursery has a lovely layout and an incredible outdoor area for the children to really express themselves through play. The team here are incredible, my son will flourish in his next chapter of education thanks to everyone at St Quintin's Nursery!

Reply from Vanessa Bailey, Nursery Manager at St Quintin Nursery

Dear Amiraa, thank you for your kind and honest words. You have been a strong parent role model making the time and putting in the effort to work closely with all of our nursery staff, working hard to put in place all the strategies we have at our nursery.
Our common goal has always been to make the most of the amazing learning and play experiences on offer for your son. Both our efforts together have led your son to exhibit greater persistence, confidence, resilience, self-esteem, social skills, independence and better performance in all the areas of his learning. Going forwards, he will continue to do you and his dad proud, being very lucky to have both of you so dedicated and committed to his development and progress. We wish you all the very best for the future and hope that you will keep in touch, especially for us to see him in his new school uniform. Take good care and again, our sincere thanks. Warmest regards, all the staff team at St Quintin Nursery.

I cannot recommend this nursery enough. My daughter had been to two nurseries prior and was unable to settle and would not talk while there; however, as soon as she started St Quintin's, there was such a positive change in her. She wants to go to nursery - she talks and she’s completely come out of
her shell. My daughter has made friends, found comfort in the staff and feels safe in the nursery. My daughter is reaching all of her age-expected targets. I couldn’t be prouder of her. I feel comfortable leaving her at nursery. My daughter was a fussy eater and still can be, but at nursery, she’s more open to trying new foods, and she can even use a knife and fork correctly. The staff are always there to support, and it has a real family feel. This nursery has been a blessing and an absolute necessity to my daughter's education. Thank you, St Quintins!

Dear Ella, thank you so much for your very kind words. St Quintin staff are most happy to hear that your daughter has thrived whilst in our care, but we couldn't have done this without your support and commitment as her mother. Thank you for working so closely with us at all times.
St Quintin has done exactly what it has set out to do, being passionate about children’s learning and putting children and families at the heart of what we do helping each child reach their full potential. Your daughter will continue to do you proud! She is a very happy little girl who wants to learn more and more each day, and that is down to both you as her dedicated and loving mum, also her wonderfully devoted Grandma, who your daughter is very blessed to have in her life. We wish you all nothing but the very best for the future and hope that you will return soon for your daughter to show off to us her new uniform when she starts school. Thanking you kindly once again!

I have felt very happy and content with trusting the nursery with the car, guidance and dedication of my daughter and feel the nursery is run well and maintained to a good standard. I am mostly very happy with how my daughter has grown and developed in the nursery environment and how she has connected
with the staff and other children.

Thanks for the opportunity to express how grateful and happy I am of having my daughter in this nursery. From day one to her upcoming last days I felt extremely comfortable leaving her in the nursery. The loving, caring and knowledgeable staff nursery made me feel like this. The staff even guided me
in any of the troubles I found while being a mother for the first time, e.g. Potty training and sleeping pattern issues etc. My daughter is always happy to go to the nursery and she always talks about her carers with great joy. One more time, thanks again for the amazing help from the manager to the key persons throughout my daughter's years at the nursery.

I am very lucky to have found a place where I feel comfortable to leave my son. The workers are professional, kind and welcoming and they are also long-term so you have the continuity with them. My son has is own key worker who is wonderful with him. The environment is fun, educational and engaging.
The outside space is amazing when the weather allows it. My son has thrived and looks forward to going each time.
He is happy and comfortable which puts me at ease. I would gladly recommend this nursery to any person looking for childcare as it delivers exactly what it says. Well done St Quintins!

As a mum who runs a local children's salon on Portobello Road, I hear a lot about what our community has to offer. It was through recommendations that I heard about Spring Nursery. My little baby started very young and we feel blessed that we found it. My daughter has had undying personal attention
and care. Her own keyworker, as well as all of the other staff, are so kind, happy and motivated to engage with the children. They have long-term staff rather than a high turnover, and everyone has a smile for us each day when we arrive.
To see my child blossom, learn new things and explore with adults and her peers is invaluable. The nursery provide a wonderful environment and promote all of this to happen. The activities they do are both fun and educational, and the garden is a beautiful size and sunny as weather permits. My daughter enjoys playing all day and joining in with the guitar music, singing, reading and meeting little friends. I highly recommend Spring as a nurturing nursery.

Current Review Score: 8.3 (8.338)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.3 (8.338) out of 10 for St Quintin Nursery is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 2 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.3 out of 5 from 2 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 5.000 for St Quintin Nursery is calculated as follows: ( (23 Excellents x 5) ) ÷ 23 Ratings = 5

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 3.338 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for St Quintin Nursery is based on 2 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 = 3.125

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 47 number of registered child places is 9.4. 2 Positive Reviews ÷ 9.4 = 0.213

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
