At Little Pioneers Sutton they love hands-on, interactive play as its perfect for encouraging learning and development at every age level. They love to learn about baking from their onsite chef and get moving during their P.E. lessons.

They are big on happy children which is why they have areas for growing food (and eating it), regular visits to local care homes and take care of each other and the world. They are also big on safety which is why ALL their staff are paediatric first aid trained.

They are silver eco schools accredited, a programme that sees children lead the way in making little changes that deliver big environmental differences. They have 5 Little Pioneers who help share their core values with children such as encouraging them to make their own decisions to taking care of the world.

They have a ParentZone app which keeps mums and dads informed about life at nursery with photos from their day, assessments, meals eaten and even toilet training progress.

Little Pioneers Sutton Nursery has 5 home rooms split over two floors into the following age groups: on the ground floor there is one room for 3 months – 1 year olds and one room for 1-2 year olds, with access to their bathroom and nappy changing area and milk kitchen. There are three further rooms on the first floor: one small room for the 18 months to 2 year olds (depending on their development), one room for the 2-3 year olds and one room for the 3-5 year olds, all with access to their own bathrooms.

Our daughter loved attending little pioneers. She was there for three years and has many wonderful memories from it. The staff are excellent and the facilities and location are great.

I highly recommend this nursery. I was so worried about leaving my daughter, but from the start, it felt like she was in safe hands at Little Pioneers. The staff are capable, kind and friendly and seem to really like being there, so it’s a happy environment. The kids are very well looked after and have
lots of outdoor time and fun activities every day. My daughter bonded with her key workers so quickly and they really helped her settle in and took time to get to know her personality and likes. There’s an app which keeps you up-to-date about nappies, food and sleep, but they also send observations about milestones the kids reach. My daughter is learning so much there and often comes home wanting to sing nursery rhymes like she has at nursery! I’ve been so impressed with Little Pioneers, and I’m excited about seeing my daughter learn and grow as she continues to go there.

I feel that both my children who have attended the nursery full time, with the first starting at nursery in 2012 and the second about to finish nursery and start reception, have flourished in the care of the staff, from toilet training to learning to count and recognising numbers in readiness for school.
The staff are friendly and my daughter has developed good relationships. My daughter enjoys the outdoor play area very much and comes home looking like she's had the best time ever. Would definitely recommend this nursery.

My son as only been attending the nursery for just over 3 months now and I wouldn't want him to be anywhere else. He loves being around other children and has built great relationships with the staff. He loves being greeted in the morning by the management team and waves goodbye to them every night.
I Have recommended my sister to this nursery who now has her little girl coming here 2 days a week and also loves it. I wouldn't recommend another nursery other than this one.

My children have attended this nursery since 2014 (my eldest from 2014 to 2017, and my youngest from 2016 until now).
We could not have hoped for a better start for our girls. The staff are lovely and attentive to every child’s needs. The transition from nursery to school was seamless for my eldest
and I can see my youngest will have no issues when she starts reception this September.
There’s a chef onsite cooking fresh food from scratch daily - no frozen meals. The place had a lovely refurb recently, the rooms are well equipped and the outdoor space is spacious and full of fun areas.
We have built some really special relationships at this nursery over the past 6 years and I could not recommend it enough.

My son has been at Little Pioneers Sutton Nursery since he was 1 and he is now in the pre-school room. I have had no issues in his time there and the staff are extremely friendly and engaging.
I have always felt comfortable leaving him and he has settled well into each room, it has been lovely to
see that when they could tell he needed to progress they would accommodate this by moving him up or giving him more challenging activities.
He has formed some lovely relationships with his key-workers and tells me things he has enjoyed during the day.
I love the app they use to keep parents involved and we can keep up to date with observations and assessments.
He has always eaten well there, they provide a variety of meals which he loves.
He has learnt a lot and I am confident he will go into full-time school with a good set of skills that he will need.
Whenever we have needed help with toilet training/behaviour etc they have been so helpful and it has been great to have guidance/reassurance, especially being a first-time parent.

I find the management of the Nursery really poor. Management Team do not accept criticism, instead of taking it on a constructive way to improve the services, they become very defensive and show no sympathy for parents whenever things go wrong. I have been concerned about the safety of my child in this
nursery. It seems that children are not closely monitored. Since my child has been attending the nursery he has had several accident forms reporting accidents he had. The most recent one is about him being bitten by another child. He appeared with three bites on his arms which is totally bruised and swollen. Clearly, it proves a lack of supervision. When queried with the management what happened. They had no clue. Very disappointed as I had a high expectation with this nursery especially because some of the care workers are really good and certainly deserve a more efficient/ effective management... so certainly not a well-managed place to leave your child in if you want him to be safe.

Fell in love with the nursery from the open day and have been so happy with it since my son started in January at 10 months old. I feel he is really well looked after, well fed and he certainly sleeps well after a day there! They keep me updated with what he gets up to day to day and he seems to be
developing well. The fact that the nursery is really close to the train station is a real bonus too! Highly recommend.

I looked around many nurseries in Sutton within walking distance from home. This nursery was the only one that I liked on my first visit. The staff were friendly and the children came over to wave or say hello in each room we viewed. I just felt my daughter would like it here. I thought it would take
her a while to settle but she settled in quickly. On her first settling in session, I stayed for a while and noticed she ate all the food offered to her when she is usually picky with food at home. The staff are great with her, giving me positive feedback about her afternoons there. The children are offered plenty of activities throughout the day, so I can imagine they never get bored. My daughter is happy there and I would recommend this nursery to a friend.

Friendly staff, fun activities.
It's a bit out of the way for us (door-to-door from our house it's about 30 minutes to get there). I wish it were closer to the train station, especially as I work in Canary Wharf and need to be at the nursery before 6:30 to pick up the kids (not easy). However, it is
located right next to the park playground which is a bonus.

The staff here are very accommodating towards first-time parents who also have separation anxiety when their first child attends nursery for the first time. The communication and handover upon collection are great. My daughter talks so positively about both staff and other children.

My daughter joined the nursery in September 2018 when she was 11 months old. She is now fully settled in and is very happy there. They do crafty activities that I haven't been brave enough to try at home and the staff are all very enthusiastic with the children.
I'm very pleased that I chose this
nursery.

Both my children have been attending for over a year. They have both developed lovely relationships with key workers and staff.
Progression to new rooms have been handled well, progress discussed to gradually transfer. Nursery staff also let the siblings see and play together during play times.
Developments/achievements
are communicated by App and parent evenings. App sends notifications to the phone showing photos and commentary of tasks/learning experiences – this is lovely to receive whilst at work.
Parents are consulted at forums and fundraising/social events are set up throughout the year. The nursery is managed really well. Staff turnover is low, many being there for years.
Siblings discount is offered, application of tax-free childcare/extra hours entitlement has been simple.
The facilities are great. Recently redecorated, rooms have a good range of play and educational toys.
There are goldfish and giant snails, to help teach the children how to care for animals.

My child has settled into his new room at nursery very well. After some attachment issues leaving myself in the mornings, he now has become so confident and happy at nursery.
This is all because of the wonderful staff and care that is given to the children.
The girls in the room are great. I am
very grateful to all the staff and his key person for taking the time to make him feel happy and comfortable in his new room.

My little one has been going to The Co-op for 3.5 years now, and they have been so caring and supportive. My little one wouldn't sleep and they would walk around with her for hours to get her to sleep, that's dedication and the plus point is it's a 4 min walk from the station.

Current Review Score: 9.4 (9.415)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.4 (9.415) out of 10 for Little Pioneers Nursery & Pre-school, Sutton is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 9 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.6 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.833 for Little Pioneers Nursery & Pre-school, Sutton is calculated as follows: ( (90 Excellents x 5) + (18 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 108 Ratings = 4.833

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.582 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Little Pioneers Nursery & Pre-school, Sutton is based on 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.9

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 66 number of registered child places is 13.2. 9 Positive Reviews ÷ 13.2 = 0.682

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
