Both of my children go to Building Blocks Nursery and they receive excellent care. The staff are very caring and kind and they love children so much. Food and activities are great. It's sad that it's time to graduate and they are leaving the setting very soon. But memories are created and will be cherished
for a long period of time.

Building Blocks Nursery has cared for our daughter for the past four years and we have never been less than impressed with their team's dedication, knowledge and passion for providing top-class childcare and development opportunities. The key carers, in particular, are all highly qualified and have
formed very strong bonds with our daughter, providing consistently the emotional, educational and practical support she has needed to feel safe, loved and supported.
There are wide ranges of activities and regular day trips away from the nursery, including French classes, yoga, football, dance and forest school. In this last year, there has been excellent preschool teaching support with one of the most passionate teachers I have ever experienced in any setting.
Quality and variety of food and nutrition have been amazing and have really helped stretch our daughter's willingness to try new things.
We could not be happier with choosing Building Blocks, it's an outstanding nursery and we would recommend it to anyone.

Our son has had an incredible experience, he runs in happily, the staff not only provide comfort and reassurance but also entertainment. Often tricky to get him to leave nursery at the end of the day as he has been having so much fun. The staff provide imaginative activities, e.g. building and painting
cardboard castles/rocket ships or searching for insects outside with magnifying glasses. Various outings (supermarket, carol singing, library, park, riding the tram/bus) and events (tea parties, dress ups days). Activities from external providers - football, yoga, music, forest school. The setting itself is so stimulating and is changed around often. The food is also varied and healthy. We have always felt he has been looked after so well and he will certainly miss building blocks, which have provided him with so many happy and fun memories. We cannot thank you enough for helping raise our little boy from a lockdown baby into a confident and happy pre-schooler!

Our daughter started attending from the baby room until nursery school. During this time, she has grown so much and absorbed all the positive things she learned there. She formed very strong bonds with the staff at the nursery who have been very kind and supportive. Not everything has been perfect however
we have seen the nursery making efforts to adapt and improve. The most important thing is that our child loved her time there!

I’ve been very happy with the care our little boy receives at this nursery. The staff are very attentive and supportive. It is them that make all the difference. From the carers to accounts and management. I always feel I talk to people that care and understand. There is a good level of communication
between us. I also like the out of the setting activities that they do, and I hope to see more of them. The building itself is a bit dated but they are renovating it at the moment. The garden area is not great but the people working there are so caring that I wouldn’t like to change just because of that. All in all very happy with our choice and I would recommend.

Our whole experience of Building Blocks has been superb - from admissions to accounts, and of course in particular the Nursery team within the room.
All of the staff genuinely care about the best interest of the kids in their care, and go out of their way to nurture curiosity, make the experience
fun and enjoyable. Our daughter loves nursery and the team who look after her. We’d highly recommend it to anyone.

Current Review Score: 8.5 (8.491)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.5 (8.491) out of 10 for Building Blocks Nursery Wimbledon is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 5 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.8 out of 5 from 5 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.700 for Building Blocks Nursery Wimbledon is calculated as follows: ( (45 Excellents x 5) + (13 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 60 Ratings = 4.7

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 3.791 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Building Blocks Nursery Wimbledon is based on 5 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.5

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 86 number of registered child places is 17.2. 5 Positive Reviews ÷ 17.2 = 0.291

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

My name is Lotte and I have been with Building Blocks since it opened its doors on the 3rd September 2001. Having just completed my BA (Hons) in Early Childhood Studies I was eager to put all my knowledge into practice. I started as a Nursery Assistant and worked my way up to become Nursery Manager in January 2004 of our new Kingston Rd site. In April 2008 I was promoted to Senior Manager for the company with the owners temporary move to America. This evolved into my current role of Operations Director as I took on more and more responsibility within the company.

I work closely alongside Clare Ford, our Operations Manager, who directly oversees the Early Years Managers and ensures that day to day operations run smoothly and continue to meet the high standards that we strive for in our pursuit for excellence.
