Brinds Well Day Nursery in Orpington provides children with a warm and welcoming learning environment where highly trained practitioners promote child-led interests and play.

The fantastic, fully equipped, large garden area offers children a range of outdoor learning experiences and is used in all weathers and seasons. This helps to support children's social, emotional and physical development.

For extra-curricular activities, they currently offer Pro-stars every Wednesday for preschool children. Additionally, every Friday, Caterpillars, Ladybirds, and Bumblebees enjoy Mandarin singing sessions, led by a dedicated music teacher. He customises each session to align with the children’s current interests.

They are located close to the train station, open 7.30-6.30 and are fully-inclusive offering a convenient service to parents.

Overall excellence when it comes to this nursery and from experience, I will say I have had no reason to worry having my child go to this nursery and have seen the great impact and changes academically.

Our daughter has a wonderful time at Brinds Well Day Nursery - she loves attending and always comes home happy and engaged. She has developed many skills - her key workers and all of the staff provide excellent and continuous care and attention. We believe that this has been key to her fast advances
in social, cognitive and emotional development. As parents, we always feel welcomed and supported and believe that the staff and management are very good at understanding our child's individual needs and implementing our requests. All the staff seem happy and very well-trained and experienced in child care. We would highly recommend this nursery.

We have both our daughters go to Brinds Well Day Nursery. Very happy with the setup, atmosphere, activities and care provided. Since starting in the baby room, my eldest has now moved to preschool. She has been happy and settled well and is school-ready this September. My youngest has started in the
baby room and has picked up great skills in communicating with me. I always love that there is so much to explore in the baby room and she has settled quite nicely.

My daughter has been at BrindsWell since she was a baby and now she's left for school. The staff here are amazing and even once your child moves rooms, the previous key workers are always still so keen to know how they're doing and they hug in the hall.

My baby has settled well and loves his time at nursery. He has grown a very close bond with his key person, who is wonderful and many of the team. Everyone is warm and friendly; reception, the chef and the staff of the individual rooms themselves. It is a comfort knowing our little one is well cared

Our son went to Brindswell from 1-year-old to starting school. He learnt so much at Brindswell, most significantly how to make and be friends with other children. During pre-school, his independence and readiness for school was developed, making the big transition to school easier for the whole family.

He's taken a while to settle into the nursery environment but the staff have been amazing. He's getting there day by day and is a lot more confident. His confidence outside of the nursery environment has massively improved and he is surprising us every day with what he has learned. So far, Brinds Well

As our son embarks on his final few days with Brinds Well Day Nursery, we couldn't be more thankful to all the staff for making his three-plus years at Brinds Well an amazing foundation for his future. The staff have accommodated and supported our son (and us) throughout his journey and have taught
him so much, not just academically but also emotionally.
During his time at Brinds Well, the staff spotted some sensory-seeking behaviour as well as some other autism traits. Brinds Well has supported us getting external support but have also made several adjustments to accommodate our son and make his time at Brinds Well more enjoyable for him.
His manners and kind nature have been nurtured by the Brinds Well team and I honestly couldn't have thought of a better environment for him to have grown up in.

This nursery is absolutely amazing - the staff are so kind, patient, loving and professional. You really feel that your child is in the best hands from the moment they step through the door. The manager goes over and beyond to make sure children get the best possible care. All the teachers are so attuned
to the children's needs and emotions - I have been really impressed with how supportive they have been to my little one, while encouraging independence and socialisation. Thanks for everything!

Absolutely love Brinds Well Day Nursery. They go above and beyond to make sure kids are looked after as well as go out of their way to accommodate any requests from parents. My son started going to nursery about a month ago and he has enjoyed every minute of it. Although he only goes to nursery three
days a week, he has already fully settled. His key person has been an amazing support and I cannot thank her enough for the care she provides to him. He absolutely adores her. Thank you.

My child has been at the nursery for 3 years. The space is fantastic and certain members of staff are brilliant, especially those working in the rooms. However there is a high turnover of staff which is quite unsettling for the children once they form bonds with their keyworkers. Mainly however the
admin and office management has been constantly disappointing. The overall central communications and operational management is inefficient and lets down the nursery. In these 3 years, we have never had any contact or communication from the parent reps in any of the rooms so the link between management and parents is weak and it is difficult to provide constructive feedback directly in a way that is heard/accepted. Parents leave their precious children here so we of course want the nursery to perform well. Brinds Well has the potential to be outstanding if the management improves.

Our son has only been attending this nursery since the beginning of the year but our experience thus far has been excellent. The staff in his room, and particularly his key person, have already got to know him very well and nourish his development and interests through a variety of activities. We love
that his room opens out directly to an outside space (as our son loves being outside). We also love that you can drop-them-off/pick-them-up directly from their room which enables you to see them ‘in-action’, as opposed to from a common entrance/corridor space (because you are not allowed in their room), as was the case at his previous nursery. Out of hours workshops and resources are also a unique plus. We look forward to watching our son continue to grow and flourish at Brinds Well!

We love Brinds Well Nursery and are so pleased with our choice.
The staff are fabulous, the meals the children get served are really varied and nutritious, and the activities have helped our child develop in leaps and bounds. The nursery has a lovely family feel to it. Would highly recommend!

We’ve really enjoyed seeing our boys grow and thrive whilst being at Brinds Well. They enjoy being at nursery every day and you can see this as they run into the rooms and are always laughing and smiling when we collect. The staff are all super friendly and personal. They all know every child’s name
and are really enthusiastic when they provide a summary of what the kids have been up to during the day.

As a whole family, we are so pleased with Brinds Well, I have absolute confidence dropping my son off that he will receive first-class care during his time there. He happily runs in to play with his friends, his key worker and staff make the environment really warm and friendly, his learning has rocketed
and the attention given to his specific interests is invaluable. There is nothing I would change, it’s a wonderful environment for children to thrive in.

We were so apprehensive about our son starting nursery, as our firstborn, but my husband and I have been so impressed with the experience so far. The nursery was brilliant at organising initial settle sessions, and whilst our son isn’t old enough to tell us he loves his days at nursery, we can see he
does from the photos, videos and the odd chance we can see him playing before he spots us at pick up (which is so special). He clearly has so much fun! The staff are so kind, caring and reliable, and the menu and activities are so varied. The premises are beautiful, and are, in my view, the nicest nursery in the area in terms of big, bright spacious areas. The nursery is extremely thorough with regards to accidents, and medication, and they always give detailed daily feedback on how our son has been that day. The app is also lovely to see insights into our son’s day. We also love the weekly newsletters. Overall, it is a wonderful, family-orientated nursery, highly recommended!

Vanessa is the Manager of Brinds Well Day Nursery and has a wealth of experience, having worked in the early years sector for 11 years.


She has numerous qualifications, including Level 2 and 3 in Childcare, Leadership Level 5 Leadership for Children and Young People’s Workforce and First Aid training.


Vanessa is also the designated safeguarding lead for the nursery and is fully trained in Level 2 Makaton signing.


She has worked for Childbase Partnership for 8 years.


What is your favourite feature of your nursery?
The outdoor space; we are very lucky that each room has its own garden and outdoor area. Each garden is unique and really supports children's learning experiences.


Outdoor learning is shown to inspire our children and help them connect with nature. We are lucky with our surroundings, it is very calm and quiet and we hear lots of different birds tweeting throughout the day.


What are you most proud of about your nursery/team?
The passion, commitment and knowledge they give on a daily basis. They give 110% all day, every day and the care they provide to their children and families is outstanding. Every child is unique but the key person will know each individual child fully. They will support their development and well-being through their amazing relationships. During COVID this did not stop, with the home learning we gave to our families from daily videos of our practitioners reading a story to singing and phonic lessons. Practitioners sent activity ideas to support the families at home, whilst my chef was doing cooking lessons once a week with the children virtually. The care, love and support do not stop here at Brinds Well.
