Brinds Well Day Nursery in Orpington provides children with a warm and welcoming learning environment where highly trained practitioners promote child-led interests and play.

The fantastic, fully equipped, large garden area offers children a range of outdoor learning experiences and is used in all weathers and seasons. This helps to support children's social, emotional and physical development.

For extra-curricular activities, they currently offer Pro-stars every Wednesday for preschool children. Additionally, every Friday, Caterpillars, Ladybirds, and Bumblebees enjoy Mandarin singing sessions, led by a dedicated music teacher. He customises each session to align with the children’s current interests.

They are located close to the train station, open 7.30-6.30 and are fully-inclusive offering a convenient service to parents.

Management have gone out of their way to help me and accommodate a swap day on more than one occasion, for which I am extremely grateful. The level of attention, administration and friendly approach is truly outstanding. The staff have been fantastic and nurturing with our daughter. They are all really
lovely and caring. We are very happy with Brindswell Day Nursery. Thank you for everything!

My child has been attending since February when he was 9 months! He absolutely loves it! His key person is so caring and gives lots of feedback, helping to reach milestones.
This nursery is fully inclusive, no need to pack anything other than spare clothes! (helps getting ready on busy mornings).
The garden space throughout the nursery is amazing! My child has access to the garden all day, he loves to be outside!

Brinds Well Day Nursery is a well run, friendly nursery with keen staff and excellent facilities. Our little daughter seems to really love it. The meals are excellent and there are lots of activities. The staff seem really enthusiastic and have built a great bond with our daughter. The building
facilities are great, with garden space for each age group and lovely fresh country air.

Overall, pleased with the nursery. The room staff are friendly and kind to the kids. My only issues are;
1 - Consistency in the use of the daily feedback system: it would be good if everything was maintained and managed online. The paper system seems retrogressive when the equipment and system for
a paperless process exists.
2 - The cost of the fees is eye-watering. The most recent increase was substantial. To achieve value for money we should also see commensurate improvements.

Firstly, thank you for taking the time to review our Ofsted-rated ‘Outstanding’ nursery and for the many four and five star ratings. A source of pride to us all.
Daily sheets are a response to previous feedback but we are continually reviewing how we communicate with busy parents, through a variety of channels, so your comments are very much appreciated.
Fee increases for our fully inclusive service are always kept to a minimum and the latest is set against a backdrop of, for example, an average 28% increase in food for our award-winning nursery meals, a three-fold increase in electricity costs, and a 9.7% increase in the statutory Living Wage. We are also maintaining high level investment in nursery facilities, resources, and award-winning staff training programmes in addition to ‘out of hours’ support for parents with a huge range of bespoke resources and access to on-line events which include sessions with an Educational Therapist and First Aid training.

Brinds Well Day Nursery is a great setting. My youngest is currently attending and my eldest left last year to go to school.
The facilities are lovely for the children and there is always a wide range of activities for them to participate in.
Staff are warm and welcoming with the children and go
above and beyond to help them settle in and feel comfortable.

Brinds Well has been a wonderful nursery for our daughter. She has thrived since joining in 2022. Only at 16 months old, she is confidently singing nursery rhymes and is talking. The staff love her and the environment is very nurturing. I would 100% recommend Brinds Well.

I have seen my four daughters through Brindswell Day nursery and have been extremely happy with my experience. My youngest is in her final months before starting school in September.
The staff are friendly, approachable and professional. They clearly care about the children and form fantastic bonds
and relationships with them. Whenever one of my girls has had difficulty with separation, been a bit emotional, or generally had any typical toddler behaviour troubles, the staff at Brindswell have always been on hand to help, re-enforce behaviours I encourage at home and offer tips from their professional point of view. We will be sad to leave Brindswell later this year.

My child really enjoys her time at nursery and is always so excited to tell me about her day and surprises me with the new things she has learnt. The practitioners are so caring and ensure her needs are met and is engaged and happy. The resources are great, especially with the addition of the loose

The staff at Brinds Well Day Nursery (Orpington) are amazing. We have noticed that our daughter has gained so much confidence and language since attending the nursery. The staff all seem to really care for the children in their care and always tailor activities based on each child's interest as best
they can. We receive regular feedback about our daughter's progression and they regular assess her against the early learning goals.
Our daughter enjoys her time at nursery and we have seen her go from strength to strength while attending the nursery.
The management also always go the extra mile to greet us in the morning and know all of the children and their families. They go above and beyond to make the nursery feel like an extension of the family. Couldn't recommend Brindswell enough!

Brinds Well, is a parent's dream. We have two daughters there currently and both are thriving. From the very first settle sessions, the key workers developed great bonds with our daughters and alleviated any fears I had. The staff are what really makes this nursery special. Everyone is kind, friendly
and supportive of the children. It still amazes me that so many staff members know our daughter's names and chats to them when they see them. They make the children feel safe and give parents peace of mind. Our eldest daughter has flourished in her new room and can't wait to tell me about all her friends and the activities they've been doing. Her speech has come on leaps and bounds. The outside space is fantastic and the children are encouraged to play outside, daily. The nursery manager makes you feel like part of the family and is always on hand if you need her. I would wholeheartedly recommend Brinds Well to any parent and couldn't think of a better setting for our children to be in.

My son started here in the end of August, this year and I am surprised how quickly he adapted to the new environment. He absolutely loves going to nursery and looks forward to every day. The staff is lovely and caring, my son adores them all. He talks about them, even at home. It makes me very happy

I can honestly say that Brinds Well Nursery is every mother's dream. The staff are so lovely, so caring and so professional. My son joined in August 2022 with severe speech delays at 2.5 years old and straight away the staff ensured we worked together as a team to help his speech and everyone in the
family has commented over the huge improvement and how much happier our son is, in this healthy and constructive setting. I know my son is safe, having fun and is developing well with the care and devotion of the whole Brinds Well team.

My two daughters have gone to Brinds Well Day Nursery Orpington and my youngest is due to leave in August. The manager there is brilliant and the kids adore her. The rooms are really spacious and there is so much outdoor space; with outdoor play encouraged. I couldn’t recommend this nursery more.

My daughter is always talking about what she has been doing at 'school' and what her teachers have done with her. She is always coming out with words and sounds, numbers and letters she has been learning about. The nursery have been very accommodating towards our individual circumstances as well.

Vanessa Watkins

Job Title: Nursery Manager

Vanessa is the Manager of Brinds Well Day Nursery and has a wealth of experience, having worked in the early years sector for 11 years.


She has numerous qualifications, including Level 2 and 3 in Childcare, Leadership Level 5 Leadership for Children and Young People’s Workforce and First Aid training.


Vanessa is also the designated safeguarding lead for the nursery and is fully trained in Level 2 Makaton signing.


She has worked for Childbase Partnership for 8 years.


What is your favourite feature of your nursery?
The outdoor space; we are very lucky that each room has its own garden and outdoor area. Each garden is unique and really supports children's learning experiences.


Outdoor learning is shown to inspire our children and help them connect with nature. We are lucky with our surroundings, it is very calm and quiet and we hear lots of different birds tweeting throughout the day.


What are you most proud of about your nursery/team?
The passion, commitment and knowledge they give on a daily basis. They give 110% all day, every day and the care they provide to their children and families is outstanding. Every child is unique but the key person will know each individual child fully. They will support their development and well-being through their amazing relationships. During COVID this did not stop, with the home learning we gave to our families from daily videos of our practitioners reading a story to singing and phonic lessons. Practitioners sent activity ideas to support the families at home, whilst my chef was doing cooking lessons once a week with the children virtually. The care, love and support do not stop here at Brinds Well.
