My child has been at this nursery for more than 2 years. This place is the second home for him, and the entire team is like our second family. I certainly couldn't find a better place for him. The environment is wonderful and clean, and the teachers are the best. Our child has evolved and learned a
lot here, and now he is ready for school.
I couldn't recommend them enough

My son went to this nursery almost 4 years back and when it was time for my younger one to start we knew it has to be The de Lacey Montessori School only. The warmth, love and care children get in this nursery is something I didn't notice in other places. That's the reason we all end up being a family
rather than just a nursery. Both of my kids were always happy to go to the nursery and the nursery focused on overall development rather than just academics or play.
I always have and will always recommend The de Lacey to new parents without any doubts.

Having attended De Lacey myself, I knew that it was somewhere that I would consider for my son. Once he had started, it was evident that he had joined a family. My son is extremely happy at the nursery, he runs in and hugs his key worker in the mornings and is happy when I am there to collect him. Having
recently had my two-year review with them, it was clear that the staff had taken the time to get to know him and have adjusted the way that they teach him accordingly. They have high expectations; his key worker is always communicating ways in which I can continue his learning at home. I have already recommended two of my friends to send their children there, after visiting the nursery they immediately signed up. De Lacey is a home away from home for my son and he has learnt so much and has grown in confidence in just the six months that he’s been there. I can’t recommend this place enough.

I went to see a number of nurseries before making a decision and I have to say none came close to the standards of The de Lacey. The staff are really caring and have managed to create the perfect learning environment. My twin boys have been going to The de Lacey for just over a year and they love it.

This nursery has done wonders for my little boy.... He has been here for a year and a half and has made some lovely friends.

He enjoys going to school and despite saying that all he has done each day is 'play with his friends and play with the cars' , I know he has done much much more.

The school

really pushes our children .. In a gentle way... And expects a lot from them.... Sometimes more than we parents expect... And the funny thing is.. Children surprise themselves with what they are capable of....

There are so many great things the nursery does to make learning fun and grown up... For example the pop up restaurant where they prepare and served food to us guests, baking healthy foods, collecting chestnuts, making perfume, making bird feeders... Even sawing wood to make their own medals for sports day.

The teachers are fantastic and really bring the best out of our children... They are nurturing and firm but fair.

Current Review Score: 8.2 (8.152)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.2 (8.152) out of 10 for The De Lacey Montessori School is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 1 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.2 out of 5 from 1 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

The Average Rating of 5.000 for The De Lacey Montessori School is calculated as follows: ( (12 Excellents x 5) ) ÷ 12 Ratings = 5

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 3.152 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for The De Lacey Montessori School is based on 1 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 = 3

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 33 number of registered child places is 6.6. 1 Positive Reviews ÷ 6.6 = 0.152

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
