Devonshire Day Nursery provides a warm and welcoming environment and ensures that each child’s individual needs and interests are met and nurtured.

Every day is full of activities, led by the highly trained staff team, and following the EYFS principles.

The importance of outdoor play to support social, emotional and physical development is recognised and all children are given access to the garden on a daily basis.

The nursery has a total of nine Dyson Pure Hot and Cool Link fans, two in each of the four rooms and one in reception, projecting and circulating purified air into the rooms.

Devonshire Day Nursery also offer the extracurricular activity of Superstar Sports every Tuesday morning for the Ladybirds, Bumblebees and Butterflies rooms.

I just want to say what a wonderful time we’ve had at Devonshire Day Nursery. I remember being filled with trepidation dropping our son on his first day when he was such a little baby but he’s grown into such a wonderful little boy and a lot of that is down to the time he’s spent with you all there.
All of the staff have been super and he’s enjoyed his time in Caterpillars, Ladybirds and Bumblebees and come on leaps and bounds in all of them. We’ll miss you guys!

Both of my children started in the Bumblebees room when they turned two years old. During this time the staff got to know the family very well. Management was always very accommodating and understanding to specific requests and care needs. The fact that there was consistency of care through a key person
assigned to my children was very reassuring, even though all the staff in Bumblebees were so loving and enthusiastic and always engaged and ready for a new day of learning and activities.
My son especially loved the extra music programming called Pyjama Drama and the beautiful garden outside. We were very pleased with the option to keep track of our children's weekly development plan through the ParentZone app which focuses on Early Year goals and observations of growth. My children thrived at Devonshire and are/were very ready to transition to start school in September.

We've had nothing but a wonderful experience at Devonshire. The most notable and important part of this is the fantastic staff - the teachers are incredibly caring, nurturing and also stern in that they foster respect and responsibility amongst the children. All educational activities are approached
in a fun and engaging way for the kids, and I see growth in my child's emotional and intellectual intelligence every day!

Really high standard, safe nursery. Well trained, helpful, nice, experienced staff. Great communication with carers and management.


Useful email subscription which let you know the menu, planned schedule (games, learning to help and prepare my 2 year old daughter) for the next day and gives an idea

on how to play and learn with your baby at home.


I can highly recommend that place with an honest heart.

We've had a thoroughly great experience at Devonshire - from Caterpillars right up to Butterflies. Whilst there have been changes along the way the management have worked well to ensure these transitions have had as minimal impact on the children which has been the most important. The staff are very
welcoming and the managements staff, in particular, are very open to ideas, input and involvement from parents.
I have very fond memories at Devonshire and thank all the staff for all their great hard work.

My little boy has been attending Devonshire Day Nursery since he was 9 months old. The staff are lovely and made me feel at ease leaving him there. Even although he only attends afternoon sessions, I would definitely recommend this nursery to other mothers on the basis that my little boy has been very
happy playing there. They have also been very accommodating when I have needed extra sessions at last minute.

Emmy Avery

Job Title: Nursery Manager

Joined: 2009

Emmy is the Manager of Devonshire Day Nursery in Chiswick and has a wealth of experience, having worked in the early years sector for 14 years. Emmy started her career as an Apprentice and has since worked her way up through roles in day nurseries and an independent school.


Emmy has worked for Childbase Partnership for 11 years and has recently gained her BA(Hons) in Early Childhood Studies.


What is your favourite feature of Devonshire?
I love how diverse our team and families are – everyone comes from different walks of life, different ethnicities, cultures and backgrounds.


What are you most proud of about your nursery/team?
The team really know their key children and provide experiences for them to help them thrive in all areas. We have achieved so much in the past few years including winning internal company awards, achieving Healthy Years London Silver status, being awarded Silver as part of Eco-Schools and raising a record amount for charity year on year.
