Devonshire Day Nursery provides a warm and welcoming environment and ensures that each child’s individual needs and interests are met and nurtured.

Every day is full of activities, led by the highly trained staff team, and following the EYFS principles.

The importance of outdoor play to support social, emotional and physical development is recognised and all children are given access to the garden on a daily basis.

The nursery has a total of nine Dyson Pure Hot and Cool Link fans, two in each of the four rooms and one in reception, projecting and circulating purified air into the rooms.

Devonshire Day Nursery also offer the extracurricular activity of Superstar Sports every Tuesday morning for the Ladybirds, Bumblebees and Butterflies rooms.

Best experience you can expect. The kids learn so much, carers are gentle, nice, friendly and teach the kids so many things. The development of my kid would not have been so good if she would have stayed at home. I can't say enough how happy I am, having her at this nursery!

I've had a very good experience with this nursery with both my children. My daughter went for the months leading up to reception and my son has some since 9 months old. We've had our kids in all 4 rooms and been very happy with the carers and care. Very happy with our experience here over the past 2
years.

My daughter has settled well at Devonshire and enjoys going to Nursery, even asking to go at weekends. Overall the staff and care at Devonshire has been the best thing about this nursery. My daughter has formed very good relationships with her key workers, which is great to lack of space in Bumbles
for 2-3 year olds who are energetic. The area is quite cramped and there is very little light available (natural light).It would be nice to see the nursery incorporate other activities into their schedules e.g. Yoga, ball co-ordination (intro to sports) etc. Other nurseries in the area provide this. It would be nice to see the children go on more regular outings to the park, shops and local area.

My two and a half year old son has been attending Devonshire Day Nursery since he was 8 months old. he has blossomed into a confident little boy, thanks to the outstanding and extremely warm care he has received from the care givers at the nursery. My child runs away from me when I come to pick him
up as he's very happy at nursery. The care provided is outstanding and I feel my child is being nurtured to reach his full potential. I feel extremely fortunate that my son goes to Devonshire Day Nursery.

The nursery is supporting my son at an extremely high level, his special needs is taken care of very well. All practitioners are extremely likeable and they care about the children. We are very pleased with the support he has received in all 3 rooms he has attended so far.

- Really happy with the overall care in Bumblebees room, the staff are all fantastic and really put me at ease when my son first settled in the room. Our key person is so attentive and always gives detailed feedback about what he's been up to, she is so enthusiastic and passionate. Very helpful in prompting
potty training.
- Great activities set out for the children e.g pyjama drama and action club.
- Overall, I feel the staff in Bumblees are more enthusiastic and give better feedback than in the Ladybirds room. I feel I know much more about what my son has been doing and his development that I did when he was in Ladybirds.

The staff are attentive to childrens individual needs and development areas and focus on their individual needs as well as encouraging group development. The facilities are small, but the most is made of the space to provide a stimulating environment for the children. Carers/teachers are very attentive,
caring and provide excellent feedback daily. They are keen to gain most of both parents and children.

My son found nursery half a year ago. I was very concerned at the beginning but the wonderful professionals working with him made us both feel secure and they've gained our full trust. My son is happy at nursery and feels welcomed and excited every day when he arrives. The nursery lead a lasting effect
on his development.

A fantastic and caring nursery! After moving our daughter from another nursery that we weren't happy with, Devonshire Day Nursery has been more than expected. I feel I know exactly how my daughter is getting on and she has the same caring staff there for her. She is thriving and learning so much.

My daughter has been attending the nursery since she was 6 months old and we have been really pleased with the level of care and learning throughout the years. She is currently in the butterflies group and we feel the team and key person are very effective at preparing her for school in September. Her
language, ability to write and recognise numbers and letters have really improved over the past couple of months. I also feel the activities the nursery has in place (pyjama drama and sporty champs) really provide a good support for the butterflies teachers team.
Obviously there is always room for improvement and the management have been quite responsive to some of the concerns that were raised last year through the parents forum (eg. meals, communication between management and the rest for the team). I would highly recommend the nursery to prospective parents.

It's an amazing nursery. Really helped with my sons development, speech has really come together. Was great facilities and serve good food to the children. My son loves coming to nursery, so glad I picked this one.

My child is in the preschool class, they are very friendly and caring. She has attended since she was a baby. My daughter talks about sharing her ideas and things she has done at the weekend with her Key Person, whom she loves. They are very close! The management are very attentive and kind.
My daughter
really enjoys it, it's like a second home to us. There is a good variety of activities, she especially loves the Pyjama Drama class. The rooms are very interesting for the children - they are decorated with different learning areas, and are bright and fun. I like the fact there are three meals offered during the day.

My daughter is continually stimulated at the nursery and seems to come home very day with a new word. The nursery has a family atmosphere and it's a home away from home for my daughter. The staff are attentive and caring.

Emmy Avery

Job Title: Nursery Manager

Emmy is the Manager of Devonshire Day Nursery in Chiswick and has a wealth of experience, having worked in the early years sector for 14 years. Emmy started her career as an Apprentice and has since worked her way up through roles in day nurseries and an independent school.


Emmy has worked for Childbase Partnership for 11 years and has recently gained her BA(Hons) in Early Childhood Studies.


What is your favourite feature of Devonshire?
I love how diverse our team and families are – everyone comes from different walks of life, different ethnicities, cultures and backgrounds.


What are you most proud of about your nursery/team?
The team really know their key children and provide experiences for them to help them thrive in all areas. We have achieved so much in the past few years including winning internal company awards, achieving Healthy Years London Silver status, being awarded Silver as part of Eco-Schools and raising a record amount for charity year on year.
