Alba - Early Years Day Nursery is the UK's first ever "Head Start - Joy Nursery". Every aspect of teaching has been adapted using the latest neuroscience research, to help pupils develop the most valuable of skills - the skill of wellbeing. Evidence shows that wellbeing, the long term joy that comes from within, rather than from external sources, is badly needed for modern children. Research also shows - it can be taught, making them happier in the long term, more emotionally resilient to stress, setback and stresses, happier and enjoying closer relationships in life. So they combined the latest available evidence to help pupils develop this amazing gift for life.

The unique environment and curriculum goes well beyond Ofsted's expectations for an early years provider. Emotional intelligence, mindfulness and compassion are at the core of everything they do. The vast outdoor space - 22 acres of land and garden - plays an important role in this process. From growing herbs and vegetables with the children in the summer, to building hedgehog and bug hotels in the autumn, to nature walks throughout the year - pupils learn to notice, appreciate and take care of nature around. They learn to listen, to observe and to respect their own feelings and those of others.

The nursery believes that nurturing a desire to learn serves pupils well for the rest of their lives, providing scaffolding for future learning. STEM experiments, yoga, and mindfulness play a key role in daily life, building on their curiosity and developing concentration. The sensory room provides a source of exploration and wonder. And activities are designed to nurture children's curiosity, while developing a range of their physical, social, emotional and creative skills.

Funding & Fees Guide for Alba - Early Years Day Nursery

  • Main sessions (9am to 4:30pm): £90 for 0-2 year olds, £62 for 2 year olds, £52 for 3-4 year olds

  • Funded hours apply to 9am to 4:30pm session


    Breakfast club from 7:45am to 9am and Wrap around session from 4:30pm to 6pm is also available at an extra cost.


    Stretch funding sessions are available as well as Holiday Club for school holidays (for 2-8 year olds)

We couldn't have picked a better nursery! My son went here for 4 years and my daughter has been here for the last 2 years. A home from home feeling. My children have been so happy here. The staff are so friendly and kind and the owner cannot do enough for you. A little gem of a nursery!

My daughter started The Early Years Day Nursery when she was nine months old and the settling in was so quick and that is because the staff were taking extra care over the small details of my child. Now we are all back to nursery again, my daughter is 3 years old. She can speak English and the staff
make her feel good there. In this nursery, kids feel they are at home. The nursery is small and makes the children feel special. I would recommend this place in all aspects.

The nursery is an excellent centre for early learning and provides an intellectually stimulating environment that is balanced with play-time activities. We are thrilled with how much our son has developed since joining Early Years Day Nursery and has achieved many great milestones. The staff are superb
and go above and beyond their job. Great outdoors, fresh and nutritious food but most of all it has the most welcoming feel. We are extremely happy with the all-round development of our son. He is growing to be an active, balanced and confident child. We couldn’t have chosen a better nursery and highly recommend Early Years Day Nursery to any parent.
