About Little Cherubs Day Nursery Shortlands...
They are a small, family-run nursery that continually keeps the welfare and care of children at the heart of everything they do.
In January 2000, Little Cherubs opened its first nursery in Sydenham, the subsequent growth and success of the nursery led them to expand Little Cherubs; finding suitable premises in the Shortlands area of Bromley.
Both nurseries are run by a dedicated Management and Staff Team; some of whom have been with the company since it opened.
They are always committed to finding the best possible staff to provide parents ‘peace of mind’, knowing that their child is being continually cared for in a safe, healthy and loving environment.

The environment
The nursery environment focuses on encouraging children’s growing independence and making their own choices, to support their learning. One of the main principles at Little Cherubs is that 'Active Learning' and ‘Learning through Play’ is vital to the development of children’s potential.
All staff know the importance of a positive play environment for children, so they may develop good social skills and an appreciation of all aspects of the country's multi-cultural society. The planning of learning experiences is further designed to ensure, as far as practical, equality of opportunity between all children and that it celebrates diversity.
Activities are promoted using a balance of child-initiated adult-led and opportunities both indoors and outdoors.
Children’s own work and creations are valued through discussions, displays and recognition.
Staff inform parents/carers each day via the EyLog app about the activities their children have taken part in, with photos, videos so that parents are able to share these experiences with their child.

  • 3 Months – 3 Years: £85.00 Per Day
    3+ Year Price: £81.00 Per Day


    We are accepting ALL FREE ENTITLEMENT funding for ages 2Yrs - 5 Yrs


  • A Deposit of £450.00 is required to secure your space.
    Note; Only refundable when your child has attended for 3 months before giving a 4 week notice period.


    Once your space is offered you will have 48 to pay your deposit & admin fee to confirm your place.


    One-Off Admin Fee:
    £50.00 (Non-Refundable).
    Registration fees are due once your space is confirmed & paid alongside your deposit. This includes all registrations for each child with the nursery. This fees incudes EYlog profile, Library membership & card, uniform (on attending Pre School) & spare clothes tote bag.


    Prices are inclusive of Nappies, Wipes and formula milk** for children Under 1.
    Fees are calculated over a 52 week period & charged on all days.
    Siblings are eligible for a 10% discount. The discount will be taken from the eldest child fees. Not each sibling.
    Children attending the setting full-time (Monday-Friday) receive discounted rate. The discount rate is shown in the fee table above.

My daughter attended Little Cherubs from 11 months old in the baby room and has just left the preschool room to start 'big school'. She has been more than prepared for primary school and continues to talk about her friends and the workers since she has left. I have been really impressed with the warmness
of the staff and their focus on the children. The staff really work hard and deserve a medal. I have seen my daughter growing in confidence over the years that she has attended. I only wish we had known about the nursery when my eldest was younger. My daughter has made great friendships at the nursery and that includes the staff. I was very sad to say goodbye. We were very fortunate to get a place at the nursery as it is popular; the best nursery in Bromley!

My son joined Little Cherubs in the baby room a little over 3 years ago and has just left pre-school this month, ready to start school. He has loved his time at Little Cherubs. The staff have been fantastic and provided excellent care. They make so much effort with the activities they put on for the
children; they have so much fun! I've also been really impressed with how well they have prepared my son for school so that he feels ready and confident with the next phase. I have a younger daughter who also attends Little Cherubs, and she is so happy there too.

My little boy attended Little Cherubs from the age of 1, attending 2 days a week. He absolutely loved going to nursery, loved all the activities, and always mentioned the lovely staff members. We upped his days to 3 from the age of 3 to prep him for school. He could have gone in 5 days a week, he loved
Little Cherubs!


As parents, we have been extremely impressed with the level of care provided, the range of activities undertaken, and the healthy meals offered. So much so, we have booked a place for our baby to attend from May 2022.

Little Cherubs is a perfect home away from home for babies and toddlers, and a great learning and care centre for preschoolers. I have had the privilege of sending my daughter to the setting since she was a year old. The premises are spotless and immaculate, with staff taking the utmost care to ensure
cleanliness and hygiene. The baby room is intimate with a small group of babies getting close attention and care from a loving staff. All needs are met and the staff go above and beyond in nurturing key skills. The toddler room provides room for the children to grow and explore, with the perfect balance of independence and care. And preschool prepares them well for the next step of joining the mainstream schooling system. My daughter was well equipped and ready for "big school" as Little Cherubs prepared her well in terms of school readiness, confidence and even key academic skills (numbers and reading).

My son has attended Little Cherubs since the beginning of 2021 and is very happy there. He started in the baby room and transitioned well to the toddler room. This was all thanks to the staff. They helped with settling him in both rooms and his key workers were so supportive. The staff are always friendly,
helpful, and welcoming. The daily log app is a great way to see a record of how the day has gone - what food they've had, what activities they've done and provides an easy and quick way for me to communicate with the team about anything. In addition, the nursery also put on webinars which are a helpful learning tool for me as a parent i.e first aid session and mindfulness yoga. I would highly recommend this nursery.

Little Cherubs is a wonderful nursery, and I cannot recommend them highly enough! My son attended Little Cherubs full-time for 4 years, from 10 months old in the Baby Room all the way to the Preschool. I always felt the children were lovingly cared for, and the staff took time to know every child individually.
I loved seeing my son building a special bond with the staff, and it always gave me full confidence leaving my son at Little Cherubs. Needless to say, he absolutely loved going there every day, and it was so sad when he left to go to Primary school this summer!

Little Cherubs is an amazing setting for a child of any age. The facilities are perfect and the staff care about the children and enable them to develop their own personalities and friendships within their groups. Great communication and a real sense of community. A really lovely nursery.

I can't recommend Little Cherubs enough! My son and daughter attended over a period of 7 years and thoroughly enjoyed their time there. All the staff are fantastic, they really get to know the kids right through from the baby room to pre-school. Both my kids were more than ready for school and that

I would completely recommend Little Cherubs (Shortlands). It is such a friendly, happy nursery/preschool which my son was so sad to leave to go to primary school this year. All the staff are great and go above and beyond to make the children feel safe and happy whilst also providing excellent learning
activities. I was always kept well informed of my son’s development and progress as well as daily updates via the nursery’s app.

A very friendly and welcoming nursery. My daughter started there when she was one year old and it took her a while to settle in but with the great help from the staff she settled in well and has loved it ever since.


They have really good facilities and the activities for the pre-school room is really

educational but with a really fun way of learning. My daughter always has crafts, drawings, cakes and other things she has made in the day that she brings home.


They also provide French lessons which is included within the fees and a good choice of extra curriculum activities including learning all the different sports.


I would highly recommend this nursery as I visited about 10 before this one and this was the only one that felt homely, welcoming and that the staff actually naturally enjoyed looking after the kids and not just a job to them.


My daughter looks forward to coming to nursery each day. Thank you for making her feel happy and content.

Little Cherubs create a safe, stimulating, fun learning environment for my pre-schooler who has grown in confidence. Little Cherubs is the best nursery we have attended. My daughter has been there for just over a year now and I can't thank the team enough. The manager, deputy manager, my daughter's key workers and all the staff. They have been so supportive and so helpful. They deal with issues that happen during
the day and just get on with it, they don't call parents at every inconvenience, only when absolutely necessary. Our daughter looks forward to going to nursery every day and we feel totally at peace when we drop her off. There is a wide variety of resources to support children's learning and the staff give detailed feedback on your child every day, including sharing with the parent any particular activity or toys your child enjoys playing with. It's a private nursery running a business but at the same time, very caring and understanding. I would choose Little Cherubs nursery over and over again.

I can’t recommend Little Cherubs highly enough, they have been fantastic and my daughter has enjoyed her time there.
Staff are all very nice and genuinely seem to enjoy working there. They engage with the children well.


It’s also a lovely environment with lots of activities for the children both

inside and outside, sports for tots and French have been big favourites with my daughter.


We will be sad to leave at the end of August to start reception.

My little girl has been at Little Cherubs since she was six months old and is now starting school in a couple of weeks. She has always been very happy here as the staff in all three rooms (baby, toddler and pre-school) room are so warm and welcoming - it is like a family. The things she has learnt at
Little Cherubs, especially in the last 18 months (writing many words unaided, simple maths, reading and general other subjects about how the world works in general) means she is more than prepared as she takes her next steps into big school. I cannot speak highly enough of the place and I am sure she will be very sad to leave everyone in a couple of weeks.

Job Title: Area Manager

I have worked in the childcare industry for 23 years, having started my career at a preschool nursery as an assistant. I joined Little Cherubs back in 2000 at the Sydenham nursery and during my time there achieved my Level 3 qualification in childcare. Over the past 20 years I have steadily worked my way up to Manager at the Shortlands nursery since 2004 and now am the Area manager of both nurseries.


I love developing the children’s understanding of their world by using role-playing scenarios such as: re-enacting tea parties for the Royal wedding, taking singing sessions and cooking activities and making an inclusive environment in which all children are able to participate.


My career highlight has to be attaining the Ofsted ‘Outstanding’ firstly at Shortlands in 2017 & then followed by Sydenham in 2018. The delivery of childcare has changed so much in the last 21 years and I believe that Little Cherubs has a good balance between providing first-class‘ family care’ and quality learning opportunities for children in order to develop the skills necessary to move on to the next phase of their learning.
