Bright Horizons Mount Vernon Day Nursery and Preschool provides high-quality care and education for children aged 3 months to 5 years.

The secure and spacious gardens allow the children to take their learning outdoors, the large outdoor space is suitable for all age groups and there is an undercover canopy area to use on warmer days.

The nursery offers French and Spanish lessons, as well as Boogie Mites and myHappymind programmes as a part of their Healthy Hearts and Minds activities. They also follow unique 'Growing Enhancements' and 'Ready for School' programmes to prepare your child for their next big steps.

To further support this, the three- to five-year-olds are provided with a uniform of polo shirts and sweatshirts.

The nursery was rated 'Good' by Ofsted in March 2017.

Thoughtful and considerate of the child's and parent's needs as well as preparing and accommodating for upcoming assessments.
Assistance with child support and learning as well as observing protocols. Some of the staff members are excellent.

This is a fantastic nursery - they focus on holistic development, and they're super prompt on feedback and support.
Both of our kids have been enrolled here and we feel that the staff here is personally invested, they're supportive, and most importantly the nursery is very well resourced.
I highly
recommend this place to any parent who's considering sending their child to a nursery.

My son has been attending since he was 10 months old and loved it. The management and their staff are exceptional. As a team, they have created a homely and nurturing environment that is full of fun. The staff genuinely cared about my son and helped him progress. We knew that when we left him in their
care that he was safe and learning new things. This feeling of assurance is something invaluable and completely down to the nursery’s strong communication and their dedicated professionalism. I absolutely love seeing the creative ways that they teach the children and support their development. I highly recommend Mount Vernon because they are so passionate about early years and this is evident in everything that they do. The menu is very healthy and varied, the facilities are big and new and they have extra curriculum activities free of charge.
My son would smile as soon as he would see the nursery building that's when I knew we made the right choice.

Both of my sons have attended/still attend the nursery and absolutely love it. My oldest son, who has started school, still asks to go to nursery as he enjoyed his time there so much! The staff are wonderful: they are kind, fun and very supportive of the children. When my sons were diagnosed with a
bleeding disorder the nursery worked very closely with my husband and I, to understand the treatment requirements of my children. Since my son's diagnosis nearly three years ago the nursery have been superb at managing their needs.
The nursery environment is very stimulating and each day there are special clubs the children take part in, in addition to the varied activities already provided. My youngest son is a big fan of the cookery club and each week is VERY excited to share with us the food he has made!

Mount Vernon is an absolutely fantastic nursery. My daughter is very well cared for and has learnt so much from going and she only attends two days per week. The staff are welcoming, knowledgeable, very caring and nurturing with the children. They do so much with the children in just one day. My daughter
always comes away having had the best day with the staff, children and all of the activities they have done throughout the day.
The children's rooms are full of learning and fun things for the children to do. The garden is perfect for the children to play together in good weather. The facilities are fantastic. I have so much trust each time I drop off my daughter knowing that I can go to work and not worry about her. I can't recommend this nursery enough!

Our daughter has been attending Bright Horizons Mount Vernon for just over one year. The nursery has done wonders for her confidence, development and social interactions. The staff are all brilliant, and each one of the managers takes a keen interest in every child. We cannot speak highly enough of
the staff. Everything that is done with the children is both fun and educational, and every day our daughter comes home talking about what fun things she has been doing! The nursery keeps parents informed of developments, and what activities they have been doing. Finally, nothing seems too much to ask from any of the staff. If you have anything particular that you would like help with (for example toilet training, learning about becoming an older sibling etc) they will tailor things for your child’s needs. We cannot recommend Bright Horizons Mount Vernon highly enough. Thank you all!

I would like to say that I am overly happy with this nursery and the love and care they show my daughter that I couldn't be happier. My daughter goes to nursery so happy and I know she has the best time when she is there. All the staff are lovely and very good with all the children. They teach the children
so much and even when the children get upset they start singing to make them happy again which I think is so lovely.

We switched nurseries after a year due to moving house and was anxious about changing our child's routine. However, from the minute we walked in for our appointment and we were met by the amazing carer, we knew we had made a good choice. There was a real sense of family and community when we visited
and this is apparent in the approach the nursery takes every day. He has great room leaders and staff in the 'hedgehog room' and all staff we encounter are friendly and professional. The weekly review of the rooms is a nice update to receive and the on-going activities and engagement ideas are refreshing and enjoyable. Would totally recommend this nursery to anyone considering it.

As a first time mum, sending your child to a nursery is always the most daunting experience. However, since the moment we walked into Mount Vernon Nursery we felt at ease and 1 year later we feel the same. Not only is the space and rooms for the nursery amazing, the food is made on site and the fantastic
nursery staff, key workers and management team are all incredible. Leaving my daughter here for the first few times and then full time I was always supported and so was she. She has transitioned to other rooms within the nursery and the time and effort to help settle her in has been second to none. What I also like is that everyone at the nursery knows me by my first name and everyone is so pleasant to be around. It really is a nursery that has a family feel and each day I am more than happy to know that my daughter will be well looked after. Big thank you to the Mount Vernon Team!

This nursery has the most professional and honest staff working here. They give you so many details of your child's day, how they have learned and what they have been taught, what they have eaten how long they have slept. The staff are so warm and welcoming. My child enjoys getting up in the morning
and can't wait to get going to nursery. Sometimes I don't get a goodbye - off he goes to play when we get there. I'm so happy my child is happy and I feel so safe and secure knowing my child is getting the love and care to help him grow.

My son has been going to Mount Vernon Day Nursery now for 9 months. He started at the age of 6 months and he has really developed his motor and social skills during his time there. The staff are exceptionally good with him and the other children and prepare a range of different activities for them each
day.

Excellent level of care - the carers build close relationships with the children and take a keen interest in their development. Activities are varied, including arts, sports, Spanish and baking. Our son is learning lots and loves it there. We have a great relationship with the staff and they give us

My husband and I are very pleased with our experience at this nursery.
The ambience is very warm and friendly. All the staff are extremely helpful and airy. My daughter started off a little anxious and now she doesn't want to leave.

We have had a brilliant experience at this nursery. We have been sending our child here since he was 2 and a half years and now he is 3 and a half. His transition from baby room to preschool has been great. It has been smooth with no problems at all. I have been informed by the care they provide with
all the staff involved. They have been so supportive throughout. They have always listened to our concerns and helped us throughout. We would highly recommend this nursery to anybody. We will miss you all - thank you.

Our boy leaves to go to big school tomorrow! He's been here since he was 8 months old and loved coming here every single day. He's grown into a confident, well behaved, articulate little boy. Teachers have been so caring and nurturing; I didn't worry about his safety or wellbeing whilst I was at work.
The food is amazing - he always has seconds! I am always surprised by how clean the nursery is - very important to me! Thank you for memorable, happy times!

Bright Horizons Mount Vernon is a great/amazing nursery. The staff are exceptional, guided under the brilliant leadership of the nursery manager. My wife and I have been really happy with the nursery and the team. Our daughter has learnt many great foundational skills at Mount Vernon and continues to
flourish there. I would say it was hard to leave her at 9/10 months but I have to say the exceptional care that the team have provided for both child and parent has been above and beyond.

Joined in February 2018 into the Squirrels room. My son has a lovely day every day. He joins in with lots of activities, eats well and the team including his key person support him so well. I joined Bright Horizons in 2010, which is where my career really took me on a wonderful journey to where I am today!
I started as a nursery part time member of staff and found that I loved my job! I couldn’t see myself doing anything else. The passion I had for working with children pushed me to go further from my level 2 which I studied at school and became a full time nursery assistant studying my level 3 through Bright Horizons.
I was promoted to a 2-3’s room leader and then again on to become a deputy manager.
I transferred from my role as a deputy manager at The Park nursery in Watford, to here at Mount Vernon in April 2017. I have taken all my different experiences from working amongst age group ranges to members of staff to be able to provide exceptional care to all children who attend the nursery. I strive myself in supporting families and providing a loving, caring and educational environment for all.

I joined Mount Vernon Nursery in the summer of 1995 and I proudly have over 30 years’ experience in childcare. I am a mother and a grandmother. Fostering a maturing environment for a child in the early years has been a passion of mine. I am motivated by the ability to be a part of introducing the concept of education to a wide spectrum of children. Helping to ensure our families receive excellent care each and every day is key to my role. After all these years at the nursery, I still look forward to what tomorrow brings.
