Noel Park Day Care Centre is owned by New Age Childcare Services Ltd. It registered in 2005 and operates from a purpose-built community centre adjacent to Russell Park. The children have access to two large open plan playrooms and a large, secure outdoor area. The nursery was rated Good by Ofsted in September 2017.

Noel Park Day Care Centre has a warm, friendly atmosphere and operates a key person system. The experienced staff team speak a variety of different languages and work in partnership with parents to ensure the children's emotional well-being and to meet their educational needs.

The setting is well-resourced and a wide variety of activities are planned for indoors and outdoors, in order progress each child's interests and development. An interactive whiteboard is installed for children to use and there are a variety of educational trips for the children throughout the year.

A variety of healthy food is available throughout the day and vegetarian options are provided.

The nursery is located close to the Piccadilly Line with good access to various bus routes. Viewing by appointment.

First of all, headmistress is very helpful and friendly. My child had a wonderful year there and has improved social skills as well as other activities. The only downside is that the nursery seems a little small compared to the number of children they have and seems short of staff.

Reply from Jennifer Matthias, Nursery Manager at Noel Park Day Care Centre

In response to the assumption that the setting might seem small for the number of children and seem short of staff. We are registered for 43 children at any one time but it is our deliberate policy not to have up to 43 children at any one time. Therefore the nursery cannot be too small for the number of children. We also have a deliberate policy to have at least 12 members of staff working directly with the children at any given time. This is a far higher ratio than recommended by OFSTED. We also have a pool of students on long-term placement from colleges. The setting is free flow, giving access to a large and well resourced outdoor area.

In conclusion, we disagree with this assumption.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.826)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.826) out of 10 for Noel Park Day Care Centre is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 9 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.9 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.926 for Noel Park Day Care Centre is calculated as follows: ( (100 Excellents x 5) + (8 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 108 Ratings = 4.926

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.9 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Noel Park Day Care Centre is based on 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.9

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 43 number of registered child places is 8.6, which has been reached with 9 Positive reviews. Points = 1

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
