Building Blocks Nursery has been brilliant for our children as they've grown from babies to primary school kids. The staff are always welcoming and we are completely confident letting them look after our kids; the kids are keen to go there. The early years education pre-school was invaluable in helping
getting ready for school and the wrap-around care was invaluable. We are sad to leave. There are too many staff to thank individually - but thank you all!

We have absolutely loved Building Blocks and my child will be sad to leave everyone there when she starts school. She has been there from Beautiful Babies and throughout each stage of her Early Years experience, Building Blocks has cared for her and helped her thrive. She has had wonderful learning
experiences, and access to amazing extracurricular activities and trips and has developed wonderful relationships with the staff and her peers there. We have been so happy with the quality of her care there, that we recommend the nursery to everyone.

Building Blocks Childcare Teddington has been wonderful for our family. My eldest has attended since September 2022 and has had the best time. She entered in the Premier Pre-school and is now in the Nursery. The extracurricular activities are fantastic (forest school, ballet, swimming, sports and drama).
The teachers and staff are attentive, kind and caring. The food is also fresh every day and delicious! Our youngest has just begun her Building Blocks journey and is in the Top Toddlers. From the initial home visits to the settles, to the day-to-day running, I can’t fault them! We are really grateful to have such a wonderful nursery on our doorstep.

We first moved to Wimbledon a few years ago. Building Blocks have played a big part in helping us through our journey of settling in our children and enabling us as parents to find our feet. My youngest was 4 months and Building Blocks did an amazing job in providing the care and support needed so we
could focus on our day-to-day commitments. Our kids have thoroughly enjoyed their time at Building Block Nursery. We are very thankful to the staff and management for their continued support and assistance throughout our journey. We are very sad to leave BB due to our personal circumstances. We wish we could continue this journey forever however all good things must come to an end as they say.

Both my sons are in Building Blocks Teddington, one in the baby room and one in the nursery (last year before school). Both are incredibly happy. The staff are fantastic and over the years we have built a really good relationship with them and feel they really care for our children. The activities they
engage the children with are fantastic and for the older ones, there are so many trips (swimming, forest school as well as library visits and local playgrounds). This combined with the individualised care they receive makes it a really brilliant setting.

We couldn’t be happier with Building Blocks Nursery. Our son joined the Beautiful Babies room in September 2023 and he has been flourishing ever since.
I was quite anxious about enrolling him into a nursery and had been dreading the transition, but the staff made the whole experience so enjoyable.
It has been a pleasure to watch them nurture and encourage our little boy every week.
We are incredibly grateful for everything they do and will recommend them to everyone we can!

My daughter has been at Building Blocks since December 2020, and my son is due to start next month. I only have good things to say about the level of care, education and attention to detail my daughter has received. She loves going to nursery and adores her educators. She has flourished into a strong,
confident young girl since being at Building Blocks, and I look forward to seeing how she develops further in her final year.

After-school club only:
They left my autistic 8yr old at school because they missed him off their register.
I had to leave the office to collect my child.
They graciously refunded the fees for that day and "apologised for any misunderstanding and inconvenience caused".
Disgraceful! Does anyone know
if there was a breach of care here?

Thank you for taking the time to share your personal experience of Building Blocks – After School Club. We are sorry that this isolated occurrence has left you feeling that your overall experience of Building Blocks was negative. I have attempted to address this with you personally to reiterate not only the efforts taken to resolve on the day itself but consequently the full procedural review that has taken place to prevent this very unusual circumstance from occurring again. I would be grateful for the opportunity to speak with you directly and discuss this in more detail with you. Please contact me on (email / phone) Kindest regards Liz

Both our sons were cared for by Building Blocks Childcare since 2016. Our youngest just finished this summer as they will be going to the same school. We have nothing but a positive experience with the nursery and it will sadly be missed. Many of their peers are moving onwards to the same schools which
gives them a nice transition to their next journey with the foundations set so well by Building Blocks Childcare.

Amazing, kind, beautiful, loving staff. Made me and my child at ease every day, always there for anything. Extra resources were brought in for my disabled child, whatever he needed. My son has really improved and progressed massively within the 2 years he has been there.

My daughter began preschool in January 2021 and due to lockdown, had been in contact with very few children. However the carers at Buildong Blocks Childcare Teddington ensured that she was eased into her new surroundings gradually and made to feel welcome. Academically, not only has her vocabulary come
on staggeringly but she’s making so much more effort to express her needs and feelings every day. We can also see a massive improvement in her confidence and the way she interacts with her brother at home, which is very clearly a direct reflection of the encouragement to engage with others at nursery. Her enthusiasm to learn grows more each week and it’s just been an all round pleasure to observe. We’re so grateful for the effort and dedication that’s put in and my daughter adores all of the staff. Thank you so much, Building Blocks Childcare Teddington.

My daughter always has a wonderful time at Building Blocks Childcare Teddington and even though she's only currently attending once a week, she always asks if she can go more often! The staff are very kind and thoughtful, I'm always impressed at all the activities they provide and it seems a genuinely
lovely environment where my daughter's confidence has really grown.

My daughter attended full-time from 2yrs to school age and my son is currently in the pre-school room having been there since the age of 10months. What makes my children happy to go to Building Blocks Teddington day after day are the fun and nurturing staff. They make huge efforts to create stimulating
activities and put a lot of thought into the environment. Before the pandemic the children had regular trips for 'forest school', swimming or just a walk to the garden centre/local train station etc which I really valued. Weekly menus have always impressed me and the kids really enjoy the food. It's well managed from the office admin side too. Where I've wanted key carers to pay particular attention to something they have been very supportive. The outside space isn't as big as I would like but they co-ordinate and rotate well amongst the rooms to make it work well. Building Blocks has been a great start for my kids, thank you.

My two children are currently attending Building Blocks Childcare Teddington and they both love it. The settling in process is thorough and the staff and team really make you feel at ease and confident in leaving your baby with them, they really take the time to get to know your child. The activities
my children take part in daily are enriching and exciting and my four year old doesn’t stop talking about what he’s learnt! Building Blocks Childcare Teddington also offer a range of extra curricular activities, such as forest school and swimming, which is a huge bonus. It’s very clear to see how much they are both benefiting from their time here. The staff are all extremely skilled, knowledgeable and caring with a clear passion for early years education.

Both my daughters attend Building Blocks Childcare Teddington. Through the continued care and commitment from their staff, many of which are long standing, they have flourished and are confident learners. Two home cooked meals is a great support, along with the recipes we follow at home too and a big
range of extra curricular activities such as forest school and swimming are weekly favourites. Web cameras provide a reassurance and connection if we wanted and for grandparents too. Highly recommend.

Current Review Score: 9.3 (9.331)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.3 (9.331) out of 10 for Building Blocks Nursery Teddington is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 9 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.4 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.981 for Building Blocks Nursery Teddington is calculated as follows: ( (106 Excellents x 5) + (2 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 108 Ratings = 4.981

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.35 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Building Blocks Nursery Teddington is based on 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.9

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 100 number of registered child places is 20. 9 Positive Reviews ÷ 20 = 0.45

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
