Formally a Baptist church, the setting has been carefully restored and refurbished to create a safe, warm, and welcoming environment in which children can grow and develop through the child-centred approach and focused learning.

The nursery's outdoor space is used all year round and in addition, children take regular trips on outings to the local area.

The team value their partnership with parents and aim to work with your family, providing daily updates and photos about your child’s routine and activities.

Scribbles is an excellent nursery - from the moment our daughter joined we were all made to feel welcome and I felt reassured from the outset that she was in good hands. Staff are extremely friendly and great with our daughter, they do lots of activities and her food looks great. We're really pleased
with Scribbles and our daughter is very happy there.

Scribbles is a lovely nursery - both my children go there and they love it. The staff are great, caring and trustworthy, and go out of their way to make sure that the children are looked after properly. For example, at the end of lockdown, they offered that we drive past the nursery a couple of days
before to give my children a heads up that they were about to start nursery again - my children loved it. Scribbles have also been great at supporting my eldest daughter who is autistic - they worked with the council to make sure she gets extra support, have attended the training (both staff and management), working with the surrounding professionals (speech therapist, pre-school team, specialised setting) to get the best outcome for her, and most importantly keep making sure that my daughter is integrated and supported by the other children. It feels like a very warm and happy place, and I would 100% recommend them to other parents as a result.

I couldn't have wished for a better childcare setting for my daughter who has been at Scribbles for just over a year. The staff are caring and think of such exciting activities for the children to engage in. She brings home the most creative things that she has made and happily babbles about her day
on the way home. Her confidence has grown and this is due to the nursery's encouragement of the children to become independent learners (with lots of support). My daughter is two and she loves helping to make meals, set the table, read us a story, get dressed by herself etc and this has been encouraged by nursery staff.

Both my children have been at Scribbles and are extremely happy. A very inclusive environment - I think they celebrate nearly every culture and teach the children about the diversity of our world, human and otherwise. Government restrictions permitting, they engage with the local community from fundraising
for charity, visiting the residents at Age UK and participating in the annual town festival. They also try to include the parents in activities: trips, religious festivals, career day, parents evening, etc. I will be very sad when my youngest graduates to primary school.

Our daughter absolutely loves it here. The staff are brilliant with her and she’s learned so much it surprises us regularly. A great facility, clean and organised, we couldn’t recommend it highly enough.

Brilliant nursery. Great atmosphere and the staff are fantastic! My two girls love it there. The managers are always very helpful and accommodating. Our eldest daughter is autistic and even though this is a mainstream nursery they are going above and beyond to help navigate her preparation for school.

Very friendly, very knowledgeable staff. Always prepared to go the extra distance for your child. I would wholeheartedly recommend this place. Our boy who has been there for a year now loves it and always comes home with a smile!

Both my children (now ages 1 and 3) attend Scribbles Nursery and we've been very happy with their care. They are both cared for lovingly, with attentive caregivers, clear boundaries, and lots of fun playtime as well as educational and developmental activities. Their teachers send us regular reports
and help us mitigate and identify issues, and they've been helpful with things like potty training. We feel very lucky to have such a special nursery close and convenient to us! The only thing we might wish for is more outdoor space to run around in, but the nursery is located within London so this is a common issue in urban nurseries, and they're very creative in how they use outdoor space to get kids moving there.

Hi, I’m Voula, the Nursery Manager.


I am a qualified teacher with a Degree in Nursery Education, I’m the Designated Safeguarding Lead and am qualified in Paediatric First Aid.


At The Finchley Day Nursery & Preschool we love learning through a variety of activities. We enjoy science experiments, practising our writing skills and phonetics, and learning all about numbers, as part of our school readiness. We love going on trips to the woods and allotments, and developing our physical skills through running, climbing, and yoga.


Caring for our children is such a rewarding career and I strive and encourage our children to progress and reach their full potential and be happy independent learners.


As a team we build close bonds with the children and work together in achieving our goals.

Hi, I am Melissa the Deputy Manager at The Finchley Day Nursery & preschool.
