The Cumnor House School Nursery in Purley is situated within the tree-lined, gated community of the Webb Estate, a residential conservation site. As part of Cumnor House School, which offers a rich and diverse curriculum for boys and girls aged 2 to 13 years, this co-educational nursery is one of two Cumnor House nurseries, providing an engaging, interactive, and collaborative environment – where your child’s educational journey begins.

Open during term time to align with school hours, the nursery provides a safe space for children aged 2-4 years to learn about themselves and the world around them. Children are encouraged to engage with a range of learning opportunities and challenges through play, ensuring that all children thrive. Balancing high academic standards within a playful environment, the nursery prepares children for academic success while focusing on future-oriented learning, equipping even the youngest learners with essential skills.

The nursery is situated in a wonderful open location that enables children to benefit from their own dedicated outdoor play area, specific eating area and nature garden. Inside the classroom, children have access to a reading area, educational devices, games and resources that aid mathematical thinking and reasoning skills, and a wide variety of creative resources.        

Book and attend a Toddler Group session, held every Monday morning from 9-10am, tailored for children aged 18 months to 4 years. These sessions allow parents and children to experience the nursery in action and meet the staff. Children can engage in a morning filled with activities while parents gain valuable insights into the nursery and settling-in process.

My son has been attending this nursery since September 2023 and he has loved it since the start. He is now in Preschool and the care and dedication provided by the team is apparent in how happy he is there. He has grown so much in confidence, made great friends and really misses it during the holidays!

The staff are always incredibly attentive and have a drive to ensure the children grow to be their best selves.

My son has been attending Cumnor House School Nursery for the past 18 months and we are extremely happy with our experience so far. The staff at the nursery are all so friendly and caring, and they have really helped my son settle in and feel comfortable. The facilities are excellent, with lots of fun

We have had a great experience at Cumnor Nursery since our little boy joined. He is now in preschool. In terms of his teacher, I have never come across such a calming individual before, she makes the children feel at ease and the parents too. She is extremely approachable and so kind and always there
to help with a smile and truly cares about the children. We know that our little boy is in good hands. We will be so upset when we leave.

Excellent care - really pleased with the services provided. The only negative is the cost as it is very expensive however everything else is excellent. The staff are great with the children and our son is very happy.

We couldn't be happier with Cumnor House nursery. The staff are amazingly attentive and kind. They nurture the children as individuals and really work hard to build them into their best selves.
There is plenty of stimulus and academic material to stretch them, there's also a good focus on outdoor activity.
We
have moved our daughter from another nursery and we couldn't be happier we made the move!

I was very anxious about my daughter starting the nursery, we visited several different settings and Cumnor House Purley Nursery was by far the best place we could find. Clean, secure with plenty of indoor and outdoor space.
Now at the end of the first term, I'm certain it was a good choice. Every
day I'm sure my daughter is safe, well looked after and thanks to the wonderful team she is thriving. Thanks to the amazing teachers and the rest of the team.

All the team in the Kindergarten are fantastic. Our son started in September, 3 days a week, and has really settled in well. The team are so friendly and warming and really treat the children as if they were their own. It's really lovely to see and we have noticed changes in our son in such a short
space of time and he's so happy going in so confidently! All of the staff are really helpful and welcoming and can see how well organised the day is for the children. Would highly recommend.

I decided to put my son in Cumnor House Boys' School when he turned two. This happened to fall during the height of the pandemic. Though I was nervous and reluctant, the school and teachers went above and beyond to make me comfortable that we had made the right decision. They gave him all the support
he needed to make new friends, learn new skills, and also have fun. Two years later, he is still at the school and thriving. He now goes into school with a smile on his face every day and that is in no small part due to how Cumnor have been throughout the process. I cannot recommend Cumnor House Boys' School highly enough and thank them for their support and compassion.

Lovely, well-experienced staff. Beautiful, tranquil and safe location. Lovely parent community. My son loves preschool here and cannot wait for the start of each new day. Mrs Upfold joined Cumnor House in January 2020, leading her team to create an engaging personalised learning space for all of our pupils. Spearheading the Early Years Quality Mark which Cumnor House was awarded in June 2021. Bringing teachers into our Pre-School rooms from September 2021 ensures that the quality of learning and the building blocks of phonics, reading and writing will be embedded from the age of 3, giving our pupils excellent preparation for their transition through to our Reception classes.
