A delightful and nurturing nursery in Coulsdon Town

Coulsdon Day Nursery and Preschool, situated in the heart of Coulsdon Town Centre, is set in a spacious building and supports the children’s development, from the age of 3 months to 5 years and offer term time only sessions - please ask for further information.

There is an easy parking area for drop-off and pick up, as well as a buggy shed for convenience, situated just off Chipstead Valley road and within easy walking from Coulsdon Town and Coulsdon South, train stations. The nursery fees are all-inclusive, from healthy lunches and snacks to your chosen branded nappies and wipes included in the fees.

The baby room, Bluebells, is a beautifully decorated and large space, with the babies' own sleeping area and access to their own shaded secure garden with age-appropriate resources.

The Toddler and Preschoolers enjoy their Daisy room, which has two separate rooms with access to a large garden allowing free access and boasts a growing area, bikes, a climbing frame and mud kitchen. The nursery offers an enriching Ready for School programme giving every child the opportunity to gain knowledge and confidence to thrive in school and beyond.

Community enrichment is important to the nursery and the children benefit from trips to the local library, parks and pet shop. This gives the children greater confidence in visiting new areas and gives them the chance to see other parts of the community.

Our daughter has attended Bright Horizons Coulsdon Day Nursery and Preschool since she was 6 months old. The staff have been absolutely amazing since the moment our daughter started and continue to amaze us every single day with how much their dedication and hard work is teaching our daughter to flourish
in every way. There is always something fun and new that they do with the children each day they visit nursery. They have a fantastically varied, healthy menu for the children and the staff are nothing short of exceptional. We cannot thank Bright Horizons enough for taking care of our daughter.

Our daughter has attended this nursery from 6 months old, her development has definitely been accelerated since joining the nursery, she has great engagement with both staff and other children. All staff have a personal approach and know our daughter and she has a specifically assigned carer which helps
with consistency. The facilities are great and exceed our expectations. The nursery is a safe and clean environment. They have a great outdoor space which is often in use (weather permitting). There is an app that provides updates throughout the day and staff also provide a quick update at pick-up time. Would highly recommend.

My son went to Bright Horizons Coulsdon Day Nursery and Preschool from baby room to preschool and thoroughly enjoyed his time there. The staff are amazing and really care about the children. Everything seemed well considered, from the toys and choice of games in the rooms to the menu and food choices
offered by the onsite chefs. I would recommend this nursery to everyone. Keep up the good work, and we will miss you now we have moved on to big school!

Bright Horizons has been so amazing, that I cannot recommend it enough. The team is great, everyone is child-focused. Three staff members in particular in preschool manage the kids so we'll, do a lot of activities and encourage my son to pursue his interests. There is a sports coach and they spend a
lot of time in the garden but in between the children have a lot of freedom to play on their own or with their friends.
The management is amazing as well, they've done everything to accommodate our needs with changing schedules and having him extra days.
Even the cook is very popular with my son! We are very grateful for the Coulsdon team, definitely 5 stars!

Overall, very good experience.
My baby girl is now 26 months old and has been to the nursery full-time for almost one year. It’s noticeable her development. All the staff are attentive and always there to clarify any questions or address concerns. The food is cooked fresh every day and she eats well
there. It’s also very good to have an app to track her day.

Both our girls attended Bright Horizons since they were 18 months and 13 months (respectively). We've transitioned from the Bluebells room all the way to Preschool. Special shout out to five staff members in particular for their care, support and for going above and beyond. Our eldest was super shy
and one of these staff members in particular really helped bring her confidence out. The nursery manager and deputy manager are great and responsive. We like Bright Horizons, Coulsdon because the hours make it doable for us working parents. The big one for us is the varied home-cooked meals, which my youngest loves. We're talking actual meals cooked from scratch, not heating up chicken nuggets or quick ham sandwiches. They include fresh fruit and health snacks. There are also plenty of activities for the kids so they're never bored. They also bring in ceramics and photoshoots which is a nice touch. We would recommend Bright Horizons to anyone considering childcare for their little ones.

Two of our children have attended Bright Horizons Coulsdon Day Nursery and Preschool and both have absolutely loved it.
The team are fantastic and great at engaging the children in a whole variety of activities.
There is plenty of outdoor space to run around, play with mud kitchens, bikes etc.

The nursery is very well run and the staff are exceptional. So caring, welcoming, loving and friendly. We’ve got to know the staff so well over the years and there’s a very low turnover. From the moment we walk through the doors, we’re welcomed with warm smiles and friendly faces.
Staff organise the
rooms to a high standard with activities which are creative, exciting and fun. There’s always lots of messy play and outdoor play in the large, well-equipped garden. In Pre-school they practice writing, numbers, phonics and reading and it’s amazing how fast my child is learning.
Management are accessible, approachable and accommodating. They have really got to know our kids/family. They run the nursery smoothly and efficiently with a lot of care and dedication. Our kids eat so well at nursery, with lots of fruit and vegetables and nourishing, wholesome meals.
Over the past 3 years, we’ve had a wonderful experience. I feel lucky that our children have been so well nurtured and cared for.

Our daughter has really enjoyed Bright Horizons. Her development since she started has been fantastic, and she has clearly picked up so many skills from the time she has spent there. She gets to take part in so many new and fantastic experiences each day. The staff have always been so welcoming towards

There is a very friendly and positive atmosphere, and our daughter is always excited about starting her day there and reluctant to leave when the day is over.

My daughter was at Bright Horizons Coulsdon Day Nursery and Preschool since August 2019 and left in August 2023 to start school.
The nursery has been brilliant with her the whole way through, even navigating the tricky period over COVID and lockdowns. She took a while to settle in as a baby and they
were always so patient and caring for her and reassuring for me! Whenever I picked her up, she had always had a lovely day.
As she grew older, she absolutely loved it and formed strong friendships with other children and strong relationships with the staff who looked after her. In the pre-school room, they challenged and developed her with various learning activities and prepared her really well for school which has given her a fantastic start. They also spent a lot of time outside in the garden which she loved.
I always found the staff to be wonderful and see that they genuinely care for the children. We got regular updates via an app and from the office staff.
I would highly recommend the nursery.

Our little one has been at Bright Horizons, Coulsdon for nearly a year now and we all love it there. He absolutely loves the staff and is really thriving under their care. The people there really make it and they know us and importantly they know him and what suits him. They regularly go above and beyond,
including most recently when my wife was away from us for a few weeks, they helped our little one make some beautiful keepsakes for her to take on her journey. They also kept a close eye on him (and me!) to spot any changes in behaviour. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Bright Horizons, Coulsdon to anyone.

The nursery is newly refurbed and looks bright and fresh. My niece enjoys nursery, every time I pick her up or drop her off, she is so excited to see her carers. She always has lots of fun and brings lots of art home. She also eats well there and the food that is on offer always sounds good. They have
a good size garden too which my niece loves playing outside on the bikes and in the mud kitchen.

Our little one started nursery early this year. As first-time parents, finding a friendly, welcoming nursery was vital for us. Here with Bright Horizons Coulsdon, we can say we found exactly that. Extremely dissatisfied with the care that my child has endured here. App and staff handovers (if you get one) do not match resulting in a complete lack of trust. High staff turnover results in no consistency for your child and also often a staff shortage meaning on any given morning they might start
turning kids away.

I can’t really comment on the quality of the nursery as I haven’t tried any other ones. My child made friends there so it’s good.


The parking situation is a nightmare. It’s a problem nobody needs! I don’t understand why other parents are so obsessed about entering the nursery building to drop off/pick

up. They have too much time I suppose? And have trusting issues. When your children go to school you won’t be entering the school and staying with them!

I have been working in childcare since 2006, where I started as an apprentice and gained Level 2 and Level 3 in Childcare and Education with City and Guilds. I have been in Bright Horizons for 16 years starting with Casterbridge where I worked at Wishing Willow in Banstead. I then progressed in my job role from Nursery Assistant to Nursery Nurse when I gained my NVQ Level 3 then from there I was promoted to room manager then to a junior deputy and from then to Deputy Manager.


I am now the nursery Manager. Since 2016 I have worked at Coulsdon Day Nursery and Preschool. My role is also the Senco Coordinator where I work closely with the staff team and parents to ensure that I am here to support them if needed at any time. I also have the role and responsibility of being the health and safety coordinator where it is my job to ensure the nursery environment is kept clean and safe and to report if we have any health and safety concerns and to also ensure everyone is kept safe.
