The play-based curriculum strikes a great balance between structured learning and free play, encouraging creativity and foundational skills in language, math, and social development. Safety is a top priority, with secure entry, child-proofed areas, and well-trained staff.
Communication with parents is strong, with daily updates via a parent app and regular progress reports. Meals provided are nutritious, though more organic options would be a welcome addition. While a bit pricier, Fledglings offers excellent value for the level of care, making it a highly recommended nursery.

Thank you for sharing your feedback about our nursery. It's great to hear that you find the staff caring and pleasant, and that you overall have a positive experience at the nursery. Limited walks due to staffing shortages are valid points. Quite often additional staff members are needed when going out on walks due to the ratio's of staff to children needed, and these are not always available. Regulations and rules are often in place to ensure the safety and well-being of the children, but it's crucial that they are communicated clearly and effectively. Expressing concerns about the cleanliness of the children upon leaving is also important feedback and will be passed on to the nursery.
Consider discussing your observations and concerns with the nursery management. They may appreciate your input and might be able to address some of the issues raised. Open communication between between parents and the nursery is key.

I have worked as the Manager at Fledgelings in Hornchurch since June 2022 and previously I have had over 10 years nursery experience in other settings.
The Fledgelings team and I are committed to providing the best learning and development opportunities for the children in our care, and work closely with parents to give a supportive and welcoming environment to everyone.
I work closely with my team to ensure they are confident practitioners and support their wellbeing, training needs and continuous development.
I have recently completed Mental Health First Aid and hold certificates in Safeguarding, Leadership and Management, SEND and the EYFS.
