Established in 1977, Windermere Nursery is a family-owned nursery that has been looking after children in the local community for over forty years.

The nursery truly believes that every child matters and is committed to providing a nurturing, happy and safe environment for children to learn, play and grow. All staff who work at the nursery are fully qualified and committed to providing an enriching curriculum to all children who attend the nursery preparing them for their start at primary school and beyond. In their latest OFSTED inspection (2018), Winderemere Nursery was graded as 'good' in all areas.

Windermere Nursery welcomes children from the age of 2 up to 5-years-old, and is open throughout the year, offering flexibility when it comes to childcare. The nursery offers government funded places for all 3 year-olds and eligible 2 year-olds.

My children have been attending this nursery since 2017 - it's fantastic! Children are well taken care of. The staff are always so friendly and approachable. The nursery is well-resourced, with both indoor and outdoor areas. The new online system means we get updates straight from them. Really happy
with this nursery. Thank you to all the wonderful staff for helping my children settle in so well!

I'm grateful to all the staff at Windermere Nursery for helping to look after and nurture my daughter.
She has found another home there and is excited every morning to go.
The staff are genuinely all very friendly and extremely caring. In particular, the manager.

Maria has been the owner of Windermere Nursery for 24 years. Before that, the nursery was owned by her mother-in-law, Irene.


Maria has dedicated her career to providing a warm, happy and enriching environment to all the children in her care.
She believes that every child matters and this is reflected in the relationships that she builds with the children and their families.


Maria is proud of being part of the local community; once parents have brought one child through Windermere Nursery, younger siblings are always close behind.
