Cedars Day Nursery is situated in Leighton Buzzard, close to the train station, and offers parents a fully inclusive service all-year-round. They have also obtained their Green Flag Eco-Schools award.

The nursery ensures that outdoor play is an important part of each child’s learning. Access to a large natural garden creates opportunities for all age groups of children to develop social, emotional and physical skills.

The children plant, harvest and taste a range of vegetables in their own vegetable plot.

The nursery focuses on parent partnership - once a month arrangements are made, such as stay and play or parent workshops.

Cedars also offer the extracurricular activity of Hart beeps every Monday morning from 9am across all rooms.

Long-standing, highly trained practitioners help support children's learning through a range of activities designed in line with EYFS principles.

Our son was at the nursery two years and he has developed massively. Great support from everyone at Cedars. Great healthy food cooked for all children with all allergies. The staff go above and beyond to ensure all children are developing. We are very grateful for everything to the nursery and the great
progress our son has made.

My daughter has been at Cedars Day Nursery for about 3 years now, I also had a son that went here was he was younger, and I cannot fault the nursery.
The facilities are amazing and the staff are incredible.
My daughter has great relationships with all the staff that she comes into contact with and
always feels happy here.
Considering she was a Covid baby and so was limited in some of her initial social interactions, she has thrived at Cedars.
I highly recommend the nursery and will be very sad when she leaves this setting for school next year.

Cedars is a wonderful nursery. Everyone is so kind, and really feels like a warm hug the moment you enter. They do lots of different fun and creative activities for the children every day! They really care and are very well looked after. My son first attended this nursery back in 2017, and now my daughter
is currently there. Both of my children have excelled and my daughter is extremely happy at this setting. Every room is just amazing, especially the preschool room where they really provide great preparation for school. The staff are nothing short of incredible! My son still talks about his time there to this day and my daughter loves going there and is really thriving. I can't thank the staff enough for making their time at nursery so fun and enjoyable. It’s such a good feeling to leave your children in a friendly and safe environment, knowing they are well looked after. I cannot recommend this nursery enough.

Overall, we’ve been very pleased with Cedars Day Nursery and both our children enjoyed attending. There are lots of great activities for the children to do. The number of posts on the app has reduced with our second child and so we don’t always know how his day has been.

Thank you for your kind comments – a source of pride to us all - about your children’s time at Cedars. With regard to communication, the number of posts on the app follows Early Years Foundation Stage revisions which focus on reducing ‘paperwork’ to heighten the quality of the activity underway and the interaction between practitioner and child. ‘Snapshot’ observations are supplemented with ‘monthly learning story’ and ‘age and stage’ developmental assessments. This is in addition to updates at the end of sessions and regular parent newsletters detailing activities in each room and the resources and events freely available to parents through the app.

We have our two children staying at the nursery: ladybird and caterpillar. Over the last two years, we have been extremely pleased with the care they have received. As a working parent, receiving updates of all the fun activities they have been doing, food, naps and nappies is invaluable.
The management
have been great at communicating through the Covid period too.
I highly recommend Cedars Day Nursery.

Our daughter has been at Cedars Day Nursery since we moved to the area and she has loved it. We have had no worries or concerns during her time there and they have shown an incredible interest in her learning and development.
There is great communication, you can easily get updates on what your children
are up to and they go to great lengths to help prepare children for the transition to school.

Amazing nursery! We just moved to the area and I was so nervous about putting my daughter into a new nursery, but she’s settled in really well and loves the staff and her new friends. They also have lots of different rooms for the children to explore, great outdoor space and delicious meals! Also, love

Cedars Day Nursery is an exceptional nursery and I can’t recommend it highly enough. The staff are caring, friendly, professional and enthusiastic about their jobs. The nursery has wonderful resources, particularly in the garden, all of which are well maintained and well presented. The team offer a
mix of activities covering a variety of topics and adapt these to suit the interests of the children. The menu is fabulous and I have been really happy with standards across all areas. Both of my children have thrived at Cedars, ten out of ten for me.

Friendly, attentive, and caring staff. Always fun events for children to get involved in. Activities are varied and the care for the well-being of the children is amazing. Our son started Cedars Day Nursery at 18-months-old and absolutely loves it. Post pandemic we were worried about him settling but the staff really helped with his transition. The setting is professional, clean, welcoming and engaging. The app to receive updates about our son is in real-time so we really
feel in the loop during the day. The outdoor space is lovely and the kids are out playing a lot. We feel very lucky that our son attends Cedars and couldn’t be happier. We would recommend this nursery to anyone.

My daughter had her last month at Cedars Day Nursery. She had attended since she was 9 months old and graduated from pre-school in August 2021.
She thoroughly enjoyed her time at Cedars. The team provided the best care over the last four years. My daughter loved going to nursery/pre-school and by
the time it came to start school she was ready and well prepared for it. She has flourished at Cedars and I can't thank them enough.
During covid, Cedars gave clear and regular communications and my daughter really didn't seem disrupted by the changes. For the pre-school children who were having their final year at nursery, they threw monthly parties for those children who couldn't have a party outside because of Covid.
Cedars provided lots of support to children and families during real-life experiences. Child-appropriate videos for the children about why the adults will wear masks, information on loss and grief, and how to support your child if affected.
Cedars always go above and beyond in every aspect.

My son has settled in fantastic at nursery and is doing really well. I love the app and all the updates and being able to see and read about what he has been up to all day is great. My only suggestion would be (and this may not have been done because of Covid) but it would have been nicer to sit and
be taken through his first few days for example how payment works. Talk face to face about him and set expectations I guess. I would have preferred this than having loads of emails and forms to fill in.

Both of our sons attended Cedars Day Nursery and I can honestly say that choosing this nursery was the best decision that we made. I was happy to leave our children in the care of the staff there and was very pleased with the updates provided regarding their care.
I am very sad to say goodbye to the
staff and wish everyone well. We will all miss you.

Both of my girls went to Cedars Day Nursery and they both loved every minute of their time there.
The range of activities they do is fantastic and the pre-school is amazing at getting them ready for school.

Lauren is the Interim Manager of Cedars Day Nursery in Leighton Buzzard and has worked in the Early Years sector for 8 years. Lauren holds a Level 3 qualification in Childcare and is the Designated Safeguarding Lead.


Lauren is also Mental Health First Aid at work and First Aid trained.  Lauren is very passionate about ensuring that Cedars Day Nursery meet the needs of the children and their families.


What is your favourite feature of Cedars?
The wonderful team the large outdoor space and the surrounding community.
