  • Bramley Wood Day Nursery, Bracknell
Bramley Wood Day Nursery aims for exceptional childcare set in a beautiful listed building with its own parkland garden - right in the middle of Bracknell. Very convenient for all major amenities, walking distance from mainline train station.

The children enjoy a variety of experiences including Boogie Mites, access to a curiosity room, school readiness activities and outdoor learning experiences, just to name a few.

The children thrive in their development through carefully planned activities from the long-standing knowledgeable staff team.

The nursery offers a spacious and homely environment with different rooms within each unit designed to allow children to learn through exploration and discovery. To encourage a curious approach to the world, they have created a curiosity room. The room is resourced with natural objects rather than toys to give children the opportunity to create their own purposes for objects.

The larger outdoor garden area with separate areas for each age group allows every child the opportunity to play safely. Bramley Wood hosts a number of events for children and parents in the garden such as the Summer fair, Mother's Day, Father's Day and Graduation.

It is a Day Nursery and Pre-School which strives to have every child ready for school with independence skills gained through daily tasks such as self-service at mealtimes, literacy skills through phonics and confidence to voice their thoughts, ideas and opinions through the BLAST course and views of the nursery activities.

Bramley Wood is an all-inclusive nursery, not only does it provide daily meals, nappies, wipes and creams but also adapts every activity to ensure all children can participate.

My son started at Bramley Wood in January 2016 and we are thrilled with the progress he has made. He loves going to nursery and the staff have always been very friendly and helpful! My son has additional needs and the nursery have been fantastic in accommodating him and he has come along greatly since
joining. I would highly recommend and my only regret is not finding this place sooner!

My son has been going to Bramley Wood Day Nursery since he was 7 1/2 months old.

Although over the years there has been a change is staff, and particularly in the group he would be in, it hasn't affected his learning or development. He is currently in the Preschool group, which is great, and all

the staff are very good, approachable, friendly and he likes them all, he always comes home happy. I sometimes have a nightmare getting him out to go home!! In fact all the staff in all groups have been great.

The management team are also great, and whenever I have any questions relating to bills, or anything else, they always get back to me pretty much straight away.

I think the new Parent Portal is a good idea, I just keep forgetting to go on there to find out what is happening in the week!

I would recommend Bramley Wood to anybody, and compared to a couple of others I had previously looked at were a lot cheaper.

My personal observation is sometimes, to say “thank you” however it is just not enough!

On arrival, you greet us and welcome us with a smile. You listen to the special needs and requirements as per individual requests. You are considerate, understanding and always behave in a professional manner.

Day on day, hour on hour, you nurse our children, see to their needs, feed them, change them, educate them, discipline them and play with them, all the while keeping them safe until our return to pick them up.

Yes, you are employed to do so but no matter how much you earn, it is just not enough!

You look after our children with great care and passion, and any responsible and sane person would know that it is not a walk in the park, you seem to carry out your “job role” like water off a duck’s back.

You are all practically our extended family! So you see, saying “thank you” is certainly not enough. May God Bless you all for what you do; day in day out.

Our son has been attending Bramley Wood Day Nursery for the last nine months. We have been very impressed with the effort staff put into helping him settle in, both at the start and when he moved up to the next room. He has developed a close bond with his key worker and the nursery had provided a supportive
environment for him in which he is thriving both socially and in terms of his learning development. We are given really good feedback on how he has been each day and I feel confident to leave him at the nursery as he is very well cared for. I think he will be sad to leave to go to primary school.

A very happy nursery with professional and enthusiastic staff. Lots of messy play and educational games with French lessons and wonderful outside play areas. Children are very well looked after and love their nursery and carers. Food is lovely and varied, freshly cooked everyday with any dietary (or
fussy) requirements taken into account.

My son went to Bramleywood for 2 years before starting school. He adored the nursery and made great friendships. The children are taught to socialise and develop their imaginations. They play dress up, read books, take part In assault courses, little movers, French lessons, cooking, singing, ICT and
art work. My son came home happy every day. The nursery is open from 7.30am to 6pm and although my son was due to go all day during term time the staff were happy for me to pick him up early whenever I managed to get home earlier which was very convenient. My son was safe at nursery and staff were easy to talk to. The nursery went above and beyond by giving up their time to do carol services and graduation ceremony's in their own time. I would highly recommend this nursery.

Current Review Score: 8.6 (8.602)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.6 (8.602) out of 10 for Bramley Wood Day Nursery is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 5 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.7 out of 5 from 5 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.900 for Bramley Wood Day Nursery is calculated as follows: ( (54 Excellents x 5) + (6 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 60 Ratings = 4.9

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 3.702 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Bramley Wood Day Nursery is based on 5 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.5

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 124 number of registered child places is 24.8. 5 Positive Reviews ÷ 24.8 = 0.202

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
