Our son has only attended Tigers at Theale for a few weeks but we couldn't be happier. Staff are kind, friendly and supportive, particularly to us as parents. They already know our son well and are really happy to discuss his day upon pick-up, which is something we value. Nothing seems too much, they
have respected our wants and needs. The app the nursery use is fab and we enjoy the regular updates - the links to assessment are something as parents we also enjoy seeing.

Fantastic nursery.
Our daughter really loves her days at Tigers at Theale Day Nursery. The team are all very personable and have formed a great connection with our daughter.
Communication is great and we are kept updated on the goings on throughout the day, which helped ease my wife's concerns when
returning back to work.
The development we have seen in our daughter in terms of her confidence and communication is great.
Our daughter had specific dietary requirements which were easily accommodated by the team. Meals are varied and kept interesting for the little ones too.

Tigers have a wonderful nurturing environment for children, both my children have attended from baby to pre-school and the staff are fantastic at identifying their own needs and working with them it is a very positive place, my children have thrived and I have been delighted at their progress and the
care they have had. My only gripe is the cost versus facilities available as it is small with no green space and since covid, they haven't been to the local park or made use of the forest school facilities at their other setting. Therefore, they are now one of the most expensive nurseries in the area and I am not sure I can justify the cost.

My daughter has loved going to this nursery from the start. I find the colleagues very welcoming and always happy. It makes me feel comfortable leaving my daughter there to go to work. They are busy all day which is great for their development.

Both of my children have attended Theale Tigers and have been very happy there, it is expensive but you do get what you pay for - the staff are fantastic and really get to know your child, food is good with a varied menu and an on-site cook.

We have had nothing but a positive experience with Tigers in Theale. From our first show around to our daughter's care. The staff and so friendly, informative and we have always got a sense that they genuinely get to know your child. Could not be happier with our choice. We always appreciate the little

I have highly recommended this nursery to some of my friends. Since starting this nursery 7 months ago my son has been well taken care of and his development is thriving. He has lots of fun daily with messy play, playing outside, even sometimes going out into the village/surrounding parks. He's constantly
happy and is growing in confidence in interacting with people in general. I have immense trust in the the capabilities of the nursery staff in taking care of the children. The nursery have also been accommodating of his needs and any requests I've had regarding my son's care, and I get regular updates on his well-being which puts me at ease during my working day.

The ladies at the nursery have always been very welcoming and helpful. My son has been going since he was 1 year old. There has been the odd day where he has been a bit upset at drop off but the ladies were great, they comforted him and even sent me pictures to show how within 5 minutes of me leaving,
he was absolutely fine and playing, which I thought was very nice. I would definitely recommend this nursery as at times, their knowledge has been extremely useful.

Since my daughter started Tigers in 2019 I've never felt so grateful and supported by an outside environment. The constant hard work and commitment to help my daughter and I in our situation. The time and effort from her key workers and room staff to office and management. Her learning and skills she
is developing daily are down to the constant hard work the staff put in day to day. The kitchen staff and menu are amazing - very nutritional and balanced. The nursery is very supportive of my daughter's learning and funding new resources for her to learn. She absolutely loves the garden.

We have had the most amazing experience with Tigers. From the moment we stepped in the door for our first ever visit, we immediately felt comfortable in the nursery. Our daughter felt comfortable enough to walk around and explore during her visit which, during the pandemic, was a big deal as she had
only ever been with us. Fantastic staff, they are friendly, professional and do so much with the children on their days there. My daughter's confidence has grown so much since joining the butterfly room and they have really helped her to grow, ready for when she goes to school in September. We will miss the nursery hugely and we recommend them to everyone!

Both my girls attend Tigers Nursery in Theale. My older daughter started in the summer of 2019, and as a first-time parent, I was very nervous. She settled really well, and nothing has ever been too much trouble for the nursery, including my own emotions as a parent! They have also been superb in reintegrating
the children after lockdown. My eldest is now in the pre-school room, and they are preparing her brilliantly for school.
My younger daughter started recently at the end of 2021, and I knew she was going to be getting a brilliant start. She is thriving in the baby room, and her physical development has come on leaps and bounds since starting. Both girls adore their nursery, and I’m so happy their early years are being spent here. The staff makes Tigers such a wonderful setting, and I would highly recommend it to anyone!

The staff at the nursery are very friendly and welcoming. My son had a difficult time settling in when he first started but now he runs through the door each morning! The setting is great with lots for the children to do and every day is different.

Tigers at Theale Day Nursery have been like family to us. Our son has been attending since September 2020. They have supported us with all of his development and at times taken the lead with accessing the correct services. Our son has had a high level of care from the start and they have extended that
to us as parents when we were struggling with adjustments or diagnosis stages. They work incredibly hard daily, but above all, at times it does feel as if our child is their only child to support, from the level of input and care they have put in and continue to do. They are consistent, engaging and prioritise knowing every child. They really are family for us, from the caterpillar room to the butterfly room!

Our 13-month-old boy has been with Theale Tigers since September and absolutely loves his time there. The staff are wonderful and keep us up to date with all his progress and activities through the easy to use parents' app and give us a detailed handover at the end of each day. His development has come
on leaps and bounds along with his confidence. We couldn’t be happier with his care.

My 16m old daughter has been attending tigers in the Butterfly room. She loves it. The staff are so lovely and it’s reassuring to know she’s so well looked after when I drop her off. Would recommend to anyone looking for a nursery in the area. Would love a bit more outdoor space but other than that,
nothing but praise.

Job Title: Nursery Manager

Joined: 2003

I am the Manager of Tigers at Theale Day Nursery. Our nursery has a lovely village, community feel and I am proud to be the Manager, working closely with my Deputy Becca and the rest of my staff team.


I qualified as a Level 3 Nursery Nurse in 1998 and completed the Level 4 NVQ in childcare in 2009. I am originally from Manchester but moved to Read when I met my husband and joined the nursery soon after. I started as a Nursery Nurse and gained experience with all age groups and in my Managers role, I am passionate about the highest quality of care and education for ‘our’ children. I enjoy working closely with parents to ensure we meet the needs of all our families and believe a personal touch goes a long way to establishing good relationships with our families. We work hard on staff training, ensuring our staff have ample opportunities to extend their knowledge and understanding of all aspects of childcare.


When I’m at home I enjoy crafting, reading and spending time with my husband.
