Springburn Childcare is set in an area of outstanding natural beauty and is surrounded by open countryside, yet only two minutes away from the M4.

The children develop and learn through positive outdoor experiences and play. The children can investigate the wildlife areas or grow fresh fruits and vegetables to learn about the growing cycle and the importance of healthy eating.

The experienced and long-serving team creates a safe and caring environment for all children to confidently develop. Staff provide fun and interesting activities to deliver the early years curriculum, as well as additional extra-curricular activities. Springburn was rated 'outstanding' by Ofsted October 2018.

Nursery features include a contemporary wooden building, specifically designed from a child’s point of view; three separate outdoor spaces, adapted to each stage of development; natural surroundings; quick access to M4 junction 14; a large off road car park for safe and convenient drop-off and pick-up.

Menus are created seasonally, there is an on-site chef who prepares carefully balanced menus and freshly cooks all meals, using only high-quality ingredients.

I have visited a few nurseries and by far Springburn exceeds all my expectations.
The staff are all absolutely amazing, very professional, friendly and approachable.
They look after my children as I would expect and my children love the members of staff in the pre-school room.
My children started
in Badgers and I have watched the grow and learn through play in the safe environment that Springburn offer.

My Son has been attending Springburn since he was a year old. He's now nearing his third birthday and still loving every day.

For him, he is well looked after by the girls who he sees genuinely care for him. He is always happy to say goodbye to me when I drop him off and go to their arms for a morning

cuddle. He has a real bond with all of them and I see a strong connection. We recently went on holiday and several times he told me he missed "x and Y at nursery".
His practical needs like nappy changes and meals are well looked after. He says he enjoys the food he is given and that is evident by the fact that he eats every meal.
Every day he tells me what he's done and I can see his development of different skills from dexterity and practical skills to the softer skills of socialisation, sharing, politeness and consideration of others.

For me, I feel content that his time at Springburn enriches his life, teaches him new things and gives him a stable place to be looked after each day.

Springburn Childcare manages to combine professionalism and excellent educational standards with a warm, friendly and caring environment. Talking with the management team is like talking to wise friends; the staff clearly love the children and I've been delighted by the manners and gentleness our little
boy has been taught while in their care; the ethos towards healthy living means that on most days our little boy tells us with delight about playing outside; I'm always amazed at the range and quality of good food he eats while he's there. Every day we receive an update on what activities he's been doing (an amazing array including all kinds of messy play, painting, planting, dressing up, listening to stories as well as information on food and toileting) and a photo. The staff are well informed and work very much in co-operation with you as a parent. I recommend Springburn Nursery to you as an excellent choice for your child.

My child has attended Springburn for more than a year and despite being tearful at drop-off, she seems to enjoy her time there. The nursery tries to keep the same staff in each room to ensure consistency and to give comfort to those that need it. This helps with the tears at drop-off as there is someone
she is happy to go to.

The food seems good but I'd like photos of the dishes to be sure. My daughter generally eats all the food though there are occasions when she rejects what's on offer. Unfortunately, when this happens no alternative is offered which is a shame as I've had to then feed her at home. I would like to see bibs being used more as clothing is often covered in food which can leave stains.

The facilities are good and outdoor space is well thought out. They try to go outside as much as the weather allows.
The manager is approachable and flexible if you need to change days (as long as space is available).
They genuinely seem to care. It's a great nursery which I'd recommend.

Thank you for your valued comments. We are pleased your daughter enjoys her time at Springburn. All younger children wear bibs at meal times and are closely supervised whilst eating. We do also encourage the children to feed themselves which unfortunately can be a little messy at times.

I feel very lucky that my daughter goes to nursery at Springburn. She absolutely loves it. The staff and management are excellent and really caring. They are fully aware of my daughter's personality and quirks and she is always doing new things and bringing home her creations. She has been there for
2 years and still looks forward to it!

I cannot fault or praise Springburn enough. They have a lovely clean, safe, light environment for my son to play and learn in. The staff are professional, well trained to spot and look out for anything and as a result of this, I feel happy to voice any concerns that I might have and talk to them.
What
makes Springburn stand out for me is that they focus on what is really important for the little people (each and every one) so for example in my case my son is a fussy eater (a parent's nightmare!) but the staff at Springburn take it in their stride to encourage and reward my son with stickers. This goes down really well with my little man. My son is growing up into a happy, bubbly and cheeky chappy who can tell me about his day and friends at Springburn. The other wonderful thing at Springburn is that there are toilets made for little people! This not only encourages but it promotes little people responsibility when going to the loo even with all the little mishaps.

My daughter has attended Springburn since she was 6 months old. The staff are amazing - so caring and genuinely interested in her as a person. I rarely get a wave goodbye when I drop her off in the mornings as she's so focused on the staff, the toys and of course breakfast. The food is all homemade
and smells delicious; my daughter nearly always eats everything so she obviously approves too. My daughter is very happy at Springburn - I really couldn't ask for more than that.

Current Review Score: 8.8 (8.825)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.8 (8.825) out of 10 for Springburn Childcare is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 7 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.1 out of 5 from 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.723 for Springburn Childcare is calculated as follows: ( (63 Excellents x 5) + (17 Goods x 4) + (3 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 83 Ratings = 4.723

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.102 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Springburn Childcare is based on 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.7

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 87 number of registered child places is 17.4. 7 Positive Reviews ÷ 17.4 = 0.402

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
