Kiddies’ Cabin is a 63 place day nursery on the site of St Marks Hospital in Maidenhead. It has been established since 2006. Ofsted have rated the nursery as ‘Good’ since it opened, until the most recent inspection in August 2017.

Their last Environmental Health Inspection was in March 2018 and they received a 5 star rating.

Children are cared for by experienced and highly qualified staff who offer an interesting, educational environment full of experiences which allow the children to explore and grow.

Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust owns and operates three nurseries in Berkshire which are open to everyone; parents do not need to work for the Trust in order for their children to attend.

Each nursery has stimulating outdoor play areas and children are encouraged to spend time outside developing their gross motor skills and having fun with their friends. Inside you will find warm, cosy environments which are perfect for children to take part in numerous, creative and entertaining activities.

The nursery offers the 30 hours funding and is registered to accept Tax Free Childcare payments.

Funding & Fees Guide for Kiddies' Cabin Day Nursery

  • £82 per day non-funded rate. Different rates for the children of BHFT employees.


    9.5% discount for full time attendance, 5 days per week. 9.5% sibling discount on the older child's fees.


    15 and 30 hours funding available for eligible children of all ages.


    Full days only offered, minimum of two days attendance per week.


    Deposit equivalent to one month's fees at the non-funded rate required to secure the place. Fees charged monthly in arrears.

My daughter has settled very well into the nursery. The staff have all gone above and beyond to ensure she's been happy and comfortable with the transition into the new setting. My daughter loves her nursery days and is very happy. Management team are all very supportive and organised making nursery

Our daughter started at Kiddies Cabin only 6 weeks ago, so this is very much an initial thoughts review. I was nervous about her starting somewhere new and taking time to settle, but this hasn't been the case at all. She loves Kiddies Cabin and settled in straight away. The facilities are superb, she
loves the outdoor space and the toys (most of all the scooters) and there is a huge range of activities to keep her occupied.
She also loves the staff, she can't wait to get to nursery and see her care team every morning, and I feel that she is in the very best of hands. The staff all seem really caring and also challenge the children to learn and develop in their play.
We're all really happy with every aspect of Kiddies Cabin so far and look forward to our daughter continuing her journey there.

Our daughter started at Kiddies Cabin in September as we moved to the area from London. It's been a wonderful experience and I can't praise the team there enough as they have supported her to settle in. She loves nursery, talks about it all the time, the carers, her new friends, the activities they
get up to. We're so grateful, it's made our move a much easier process for all involved! The facilities are great, with lovely outside spaces, the nursery is super professional but also kind and caring, they challenge the toddlers and invest in interesting things for them to do. We feel confident that our daughter is getting the best development opportunities to set her up for pre-school, but also that she's having a lot of fun.

This is an exceptional nursery.
My daughter has been attending Kiddies Cabin for two years now. All the staff are professional, knowledgable and so caring.
My daughter's needs are met and she has grown and developed brilliantly. She has become confident and is always happy.

We were confident from our first visit that this nursery would be a great fit for us so were pleased when we were finally offered a place after a long wait on the waiting list (a testament really to how desirable the nursery is!) Our children have settled in really well and the staff members couldn't
have been more lovely and supportive and always have the best interests of the children in mind. It was a big step to hand our children over to a childcare setting for the first time but we really do feel they are in the safest of hands. The nursery itself is great quite rustic in feel (in a good way!) but with good facilities and lots of focus on learning and development. The garden was a big selling point to us and we love that the children are able to access the outdoors throughout the year and in all weathers! The kids are always happy and tired at the end of the day which is a great sign. Overall we are really pleased with Kiddies' Cabin and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to others.

My daughter finishes her journey with Kiddies Cabin this month and she has loved every second spent at the nursery. The building and facilities are exceptional but the stand-out feature of the nursery is the staff. All staff are caring and create an environment which makes the children feel safe and
comfortable.
The staff engage the children in fun and interesting activities and give them the opportunity to learn and grow in a way that suits the individual child. Days are well structured and staff transition children well, whether that be from one room to another, or preparing them for school.
My child has felt happy and secure at the nursery and as parents we know our daughter has been well cared for.
We would highly recommend this nursery.

Kiddies cabin is such a lovely nursery!
Our daughter started just before she was 11 months and is now moving over to the toddler room. All the staff are so welcoming and very nurturing. She can be a little quiet at drop off however, there is always someone there greeting us, with a big smile and open
arms for a cuddle. We struggle to get her to leave at the end of the day! We are always kept up to date with important information, both verbally and through email. We get sent home photo cards of what she's been doing and we love the certificates and wow moments celebrating her achievements and development milestones! The size of the rooms and the gardens are brilliant, there are so many opportunities for the children to learn both through child-led and adult-led activities. We are extremely happy with the nursery, the staff and the facilities and we highly recommend Kiddies Cabin Day Nursery!

It has been a long journey with Kiddies' Cabin, starting in the summer of 2016 and will now sadly come to an end this year in August. Both my kids are proud graduates of Kiddies' Cabin.
The staff in rooms and office are very helpful and warm. Kids love them all. Kiddies Cabin is an exceptional nursery
which I would highly recommend! With airy/spacious rooms and a big garden area/decking place make it really fun for the kids. I will miss all of them a lot, especially all their summer fayres and charismas fayres.

Kiddies' Cabin is a very warm and friendly nursery, and creates a very homely environment. My daughter continues to excel in her learning and development. She always comes home in a happy mood. Kiddies' Cabin are very effective in their communication, whether that be to inform me of my daughter's day
at nursery, any incidences or through emails to inform me of weekly themes, events and notices. The nursery has a very large and inviting garden with different areas of interest such as a mud kitchen, a race track, a playground and a vegetable patch. They also have a decking area. I think having all this outdoor play is a fundamental part of my child's development and it shows in her courage and ambition to explore. I'm really happy with the nursery and I couldn't recommend it enough.

It is not possible to praise the staff at Kiddies Cabin enough! If I could give 10 stars I would. Sending your little one to nursery for the first time can be very stressful but the Kiddies Cabin team made it easier and my heart feels lighter knowing that my son is growing up in a caring and supportive
environment.
- There is an excellent curriculum with a variety of activities for the children and my son has developed and learned so much since he started there in August. Especially his language skills have blossomed.
- The outdoor space is plentiful with many different things to do.
- I love all the community activities that are organised which bring parents together
- Getting the information about my son's day at pickup is lovely as well.
But the best thing I would say is seeing that my son enjoys being there. Thank you very much Kiddie's Cabin team!

After visiting practically every nursery in the area, I instantly knew Kiddies' Cabin was the perfect fit for my daughter.
All the staff I have met are friendly, caring and clearly have a genuine love of looking after children. Whilst perhaps other nurseries may have more tech e.g checking in apps
etc. Kiddies Cabin more than makes up for this with their spacious rooms and fantastic outdoor areas.
As a parent who was really nervous to send my daughter to nursery, knowing how loved and cared for she is puts my mind at rest. 5-stars!

My son started nursery in mid-October. Over the period of six weeks, he has settled in so well in his room. He has grown a special attachment with his key worker and is always happy to go, and on occasion, cries when he gets picked up. This, to me, means he loves going and enjoys it so much that he
is sad to leave.
Whenever we pick him up, we get a detailed explanation of what he has done in the day and never feel rushed when asking questions.
I am very happy with the nursery and especially his key workers.

The staff at Kiddies' Cabin Day Nursery are friendly when giving feedback at the end of the day and when on the phone. They greet my child with enthusiasm in the mornings which helps him with settling in. They are fantastic at replying to emails and are very helpful in answering my many questions. It
seems that they are trying different methods of feedback, moving away from sticky labels to whiteboards explaining what children have done during the day. I feel this shows that they are willing to adapt and work towards finding what’s best for all involved.
