Kiddies’ Cabin is a 63 place day nursery on the site of St Marks Hospital in Maidenhead. It has been established since 2006. Ofsted have rated the nursery as ‘Good’ since it opened, until the most recent inspection in August 2017.

Their last Environmental Health Inspection was in March 2018 and they received a 5 star rating.

Children are cared for by experienced and highly qualified staff who offer an interesting, educational environment full of experiences which allow the children to explore and grow.

Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust owns and operates three nurseries in Berkshire which are open to everyone; parents do not need to work for the Trust in order for their children to attend.

Each nursery has stimulating outdoor play areas and children are encouraged to spend time outside developing their gross motor skills and having fun with their friends. Inside you will find warm, cosy environments which are perfect for children to take part in numerous, creative and entertaining activities.

The nursery offers the 30 hours funding and is registered to accept Tax Free Childcare payments.

Funding & Fees Guide for Kiddies' Cabin Day Nursery

  • £82 per day non-funded rate. Different rates for the children of BHFT employees.


    9.5% discount for full time attendance, 5 days per week. 9.5% sibling discount on the older child's fees.


    15 and 30 hours funding available for eligible children of all ages.


    Full days only offered, minimum of two days attendance per week.


    Deposit equivalent to one month's fees at the non-funded rate required to secure the place. Fees charged monthly in arrears.

The staff at Kiddies' Cabin are all very welcoming and friendly. The outdoor facilities are amazing and great for my son, as he loves being outside.
My son always comes home happy and telling me he has had a good day talking about all the staff in his room.

My son started at Kiddies' Cabin after the 1st lockdown in 2020, we are so pleased with how much he’s developed in that time, especially after having 3 months at home with us. He went into the Buttercup room and we’ve felt supported and cared for by the staff in there. We also find the nursery management
team extremely helpful and approachable. My son has become a happy confident child and we would definitely recommend the nursery to others.

My son loves going to Kiddies’ Cabin Day Nursery. The staff are great, the rooms are a good size and the outdoor area is brilliant. Communication with the parents is also good. I cannot fault them. Get in early to get a space.

Really happy with the nursery and staff since my son started just over a year ago, at 2 years old. Everyone working there is friendly and my son settled in really quickly after leaving his last nursery. He is learning lots and the staff give good individual feedback each day. The environment at Kiddies' Cabin is light, fun and welcoming. The spaces for different activities both inside, on the terraces whatever the weather or in the garden are varied and educational. The staff are very sweet, thoughtful and kind to the children. Would highly recommend this nursery.

We are very happy with the care provided by Kiddies' Cabin to both our children over the years. It provides the best value in the area, has excellent staff and facilities, and the children enjoy a lovely range of activities.
Our first child has recently left to start school and believe her experience
at the nursery has helped enormously. Our second child joined at 10 months old just before the pandemic. The staff have settled him in well and he is always eager to go to nursery each day!
We would highly recommend Kiddies' Cabin.

This nursery is all you want as a parent. They feel like family to us. Both carers and management are outstanding.
What I like the most about this nursery:
- The team and their professionalism: There is barely any turnover in the team, most of the people I met back in August 2016 with my first child
are still there. They enjoy their job.
- The children are their top priority and they want to make them happy. They are extremely creative in the way they interact with them. No children will get bored there!
- The communication is excellent: you receive a good overview of your child's day to day. Also, you will get notified if they notice something unusual (eg child crying when having a wee - possible wee infection etc).
During the first lockdown, they were very good at keeping in touch. We received activities ideas per email each week from the manager, we even got a handmade birthday card for my son's first birthday from all of his carers!
I highly recommend this nursery.

The children's safety is most important and they are good with that. The reason why I am not so happy to recommend the nursery is that I think they are just doing the minimum. The activities are not creative and nothing is really organised, they are just watching the kids. They could do much more.

Food= 10/10 varied balanced diet
Outdoor space= 10/10 always outside at any opportunity. Nursery has great covered decking area so can be outside if raining.
Indoor space = 9/10 variety of play areas, i.e; dressing up, cars, dinosaurs.
Carers = 8/10 very good level of care, follows your discipline,
provides feedback, regular parents evening.


Thoroughly recommend.

Kiddies Cabin Maidenhead is a welcoming friendly fun place for your children to learn and flourish. The whole team are hard working and committed to each child. The time the staff take to build relationships with the children is unremarkable. My child has been at Kiddies Cabin since 2015 and he has
grown and developed with the help of all the staff into a smart inquisitive young boy. When asking him what's he has done that day he reels off a list of things they have done (sometimes endless) Reading painting playing singing and he does so with such excitement. The whole nursery is kept clean to a very high standard and the children's rooms are more than adequate to stimulate and engage the children. I can honestly say I feel it's is a safe and caring environment for my child to be in and have no concerns in regard to the care of my child when in their care. Fantastic staff and a fantastic place :)

My daughter recently started at the nursery. She has settled remarkably well and so quickly for her young age (12 months). The warm welcome in the morning to the many cuddles and fun games make this a wonderful environment for her to thrive in. Her carers are a great professional face for the nursery
