Stepping Stones Day Nursery is a smaller scale and very personable style children’s day nursery.

Set in a bungalow with expansive gardens, there are lots to do for all ages from three months to five years. The pre-schoolers have their own separate building in the grounds, whilst babies and toddlers benefit from bright and airy rooms in the main building.

Home-cooked meals, cook school, Boogie Mites and outdoor learning in the nursery gardens and wild play spaces are all included. All professionals are well-trained to support key EYFS goals.

The nursery received an 'outstanding' grade in all areas from Ofsted in August 2017.

Stepping Stones has provided a wonderful, warm and caring setting for our son, who has settled in quickly, forming strong relationships with the staff.
We are provided regular updates of his day, including pictures of the fun, engaging activities and key moments of learning. He really enjoys the
fantastic outside space available and the delicious home-cooked meals. From day one, he has come home with a smile on his face.
We feel comfortable and confident in having an open conversation about his development and upcoming focuses and feel supported in any decisions or requests we make.
Thank you to everyone at Stepping Stones for all the great work, kindness and care. For first-time parents who are learning a lot and may worry somewhat, it's appreciated. Seeing his progress during this time has given us the greatest assurance that he is in the best hands.

My daughter is at preschool, and she is so happy about it. She learned so many new things and got so many friends. Her social skills have definitely "upgraded" using this nursery. She is always happy and talking all day long about the adventures she got into at this amazing garden they have got. The
staff is very attentive, and the management is always helpful. It's an amazing nursery.

My stepson goes to the nursery five days a week and loves it! The events the nursery hold on special occasions are amazing. The most recent one being Father’s Day when the Dads were allowed in for tea, stay and play. The outdoor area is amazing, and I can see his weekly observations and what he gets
up to daily through the nursery app. Highly recommend.

My 4-year-old had just "graduated" from Stepping Stones Day Nursery and has been going since he was 10 months old. He has always been happy and excited to go to nursery and is surrounded by lovely children and caring adults. My 2-year-old joined post lockdown, and despite being far more anxious, he
was welcomed in and has grown hugely in confidence. Both my boys have gained lots being at Stepping Stones Day Nursery - social skills, age-appropriate milestones and preparation for school. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this nursery - I know my children are happy and well cared for when I hand them over for the day.

My daughter is at the preschool and couldn't have been happier with my choice. She looks forward to going there every day and is learning a lot. The staff is very attentive, and the management is always helpful. Amazing nursery.

Stepping Stones has provided excellent care for both our children from when they were very young right through to school age. My son started at 4 months old, and my daughter at 6 months old. They have been well cared for in each of the age rooms and loved their time there, forming close bonds with children
and staff.
We have always been provided with daily updates, regular parent evenings and activities/events that parents can get involved with if they can.
Also very accommodating of any changes we have needed to make as our personal circumstances changed.

I have two children in this nursery, and both have developed/grown so much since attending this nursery.
My eldest took some time to settle in, but now he looks forwards to going in and seeing his teachers and friends.
My youngest is able to be completely herself at nursery, which makes me feel
that she is very comfortable with staff members, and their comments reflect her personality.
The nursery garden is amazing, and I am very happy with the food choices (especially the cheesy pasta that my fussy eater compliments).
I would highly recommend this nursery as I feel like it encourages independence, creativity and kindness. Most importantly to me, I feel my children are genuinely cared for.

We love the nursery and our daughter too. The garden is fantastic. All the staff are very careful. The activities are age-appropriate, and my daughter is learning a lot each day. In September, she's going to preschool, and I'm sure she's ready for that.

As a first time Mum, with a child born at the beginning of the first lockdown (18 months old), I was extremely anxious sending my son to nursery, but thankfully, I found Stepping Stones. He has settled in very quickly; I get regular updates and photos throughout the day, and the staff are really kind
and attentive. The nursery has a fantastic play area outside and do lots of different activities for him and the other children. He is very much treated as an individual, rather than just another child. He is given healthy and delicious food. I would highly recommend this nursery to anyone looking for a fun, friendly and kind setting for their child.

My son loves going to this nursery. They do lots of fun activities and have a huge garden that connects to a forest where they regularly go to explore. My son has been making lots of progress since he's at this nursery. I highly recommend it.

My 2.5-year-old son has been at Stepping Stones for a couple of months now. He settled in quickly and easily and is always bouncing and happy when I collect him. The freshly cooked meals always sound delicious, and the activities seem to be varied and interesting. Photos and observations are sent every
day, and the staff that I have met, seem warm and friendly. With Covid restrictions, I haven't been able to look around inside the school, but certainly, the garden is fantastic, and it's great that the kids spend so much time outside. I'd definitely recommend Stepping Stones to anyone looking for a small, cosy, intimate nursery.

My son is 2 and has been attending this nursery over the last month.
I genuinely have nothing bad to say about this nursery; the staff are extremely accommodating and welcoming.
My son hasn’t had one day where he’s been upset to attend. Every day he runs in through the front door raring to get in
and play - in my opinion, this shows he’s having such a positive experience every time he attends and is excited to get back.
I’m definitely most impressed about the updates parents receive throughout the day on what they’ve eaten, nappy changes and photos. This is a real bonus for a mum like me that just worries constantly.

My son has been at Stepping Stones since he was 12-months-old and is now thriving in preschool, age 3. My daughter recently started in the baby room and has settled brilliantly, despite being a lockdown baby.
Our experience with the nursery over the past 2.5 years has been fantastic. The staff are
warm and welcoming. They treat each child as an individual and respond to their needs around naps, meals and toilet training. We receive regular updates via the app, sharing information about the day as well as lovely photos of cute moments.
My children are excited to go each day and come home smiling and exhausted. Highly recommended!

Stepping Stones is a nursery like no other. The staff are genuine, warm and caring; the nursery feels more like a home from home rather than a nursery.
The Stepping Stones staff really are outstanding; their knowledge and understanding of the EYFS curriculum are exceptional. They plan fun, engaging
and all importantly messy, activities every day; my daughter’s language, physical, social and emotional development has come on leaps and bounds during her time at Stepping Stones.
My daughter joined Stepping Stones nursery when she was 7-months-old and has had the same key worker throughout her time in the Nest. The communication through the Parent Zone has been exemplary; I receive frequent updates and photos of my daughter having the most wonderful time.
Thank you Stepping Stones for making a worried mummy feel reassured and comfortable leaving my daughter in your capable hands.

Our daughter has thrived at Stepping Stones since she started there just over 18-months ago. She absolutely loves it. The space the nursery has is fantastic, and the kids are outside making the most of this whenever the weather permits.
The staff have always been excellent and whenever we’ve had specific
asks or requests of them (e.g. assisting with our approach to potty training or her somewhat inconsistent approach to eating) they’ve supported us.
The steps that have been put in place around COVID have all made good sense and have generally been well communicated. The only question would be around recent staffing changes, which have seen the manager and deputy manager replaced within a week of each other. The new manager seems lovely, but at a time of so much change, this felt a little disruptive.
Overall though we can’t really fault anything we’ve experienced since our daughter started at Stepping Stones.

The staff at Stepping Stones take the time to get to know each child, likes and dislikes, and personalities. There is a genuine family feel, in comparison to some of the larger Nurseries we visited.
We were immediately sold on meeting the Manager. She put us at ease as first-time parents.
Education,
nutrition and playtime have far exceeded our expectations. I would highly recommend Stepping Stones. Their handling of the Covid-19 situation has been executed extremely well.

My husband and I visited a number of nurseries and we knew the minute we walked in Stepping Stones was just right for our daughter, who has turned 1 year at the time. A year and a half later and I can categorically say it hasn’t disappointed. The setting is perfect, not too big and impersonal. All the
staff are amazing: welcoming, warm and friendly. Exactly what we wanted for our little girl. Our daughter has developed really well in this environment, confident and happy. I am sure she wouldn’t be so far along in her speech etc if she had stayed at home. They have really demonstrated how great they have been through lockdown and the reopening of the nursery. We have felt hugely confident that our daughter’s welfare and that of all the children are at the heart of what they have done. The smiling, happy faces made it so easy for our daughter to return (on a few occasions our daughter was up at 6.30am waiting at our front door to go to nursery!). Thank you so much to all the team!

My daughter loves it. We looked around a few nurseries in the area and this was the one she felt comfortable at; even enough to leave us for a few minutes and go and play! She goes two days a week and she can sometimes be teary in the mornings, but it takes her less than 10 seconds of being inside to
feel at home and happy again. She absolutely loves the staff and babbles about them nonstop. Whenever I peep my head around she looks like she's having a whale of a time and all the children are always engaged in their activities and playing. The food is catered to the children and just by talking to the chef you can tell its made with love. My little one loves the weekly French lessons and I love that the nursery upload observations with photos giving me some insight to how she is, when she's been changed, what she's eaten and her next steps. I couldn't fault it or praise it enough! Forever grateful for the social skills our little girl has picked up and the confidence she's gained too.
