Child First Aylesbury Nursery is a busy and vibrant nursery situated in the town centre, ideally located close to the bus and train stations.

The nursery cares for children from 3 months to 3 years, in a unique environment, with a large spacious nursery giving children the opportunity to explore inside and outside. At 3 years old, children transition to the sister pre-school at Rickfords Hill.

With lots of well trained and experienced staff, the range of resources and opportunities for learning are enormous; from painting and planting to running and building, resting and stories and being occupied inside and out – in weatherproof clothes.

The chef provides the freshly cooked food, made from locally sourced fresh ingredients and bread and biscuits are baked on-site.

The professional staff team are focused on providing the very best care and education for all of their children.

My little girl loves going to Child First Aylesbury Nursery which makes leaving her a whole lot easier. I collect her at different times within our agreed times and I've always been happy with what I find on arrival. Staff are very helpful and friendly. The menus are nutritious and appealing. My little
girl eats very well there. I love that there is a sleep time where she can enjoy a little sleep if she wants. I love that she can have a cuddle if she wants. My little girl appears very happy with nursery and is developing well.

Our son has been attending Child First for a while now, and we're really pleased with how well he has settled and how much he enjoys his time there.
The settling in sessions were fantastic and helped ease both him and me as a Mum, into the new, scary world of nursery!! It's been made so much easier
for me and alleviated a lot of the 'mum guilt' by knowing he is safe and well cared for. He happily waves goodbye to me each morning and toddles off for a cuddle with his keyworker!
He loves the food and often has seconds, the menu is varied and healthy so I know he's eating well too.
Communication with the nursery is good, they've let me know very quickly when he did once have a bump to the head, and all medical information is recorded well and accurately.
The staff all seem very caring and attentive to the children's needs, and the range of activities they get up to during the day is fantastic.
I'd highly recommend Child First to anyone.

I cannot rate Child First highly enough - we have been using them for more than 8 years - my 3rd child has just moved to preschool from the nursery and when she leaves we will all be very sad to say goodbye to Child First after such a long time. Are they perfect 100% of the time - of course not, they're
human, but on the rare occasion that anything isn't 100%, it is rectified quickly, effectively and professionally. I've lost count of the number of times I have felt so relieved knowing that my child is in their care when I can't be with them and it's so reassuring to see how many of the staff have been there for years, which provides continuity for not only the children, but the parents too. I would (and do!) recommend them to anyone, they are always constantly improving facilities and offering the children new experiences within a safe, fun and welcoming environment.

I'm extremely satisfied with the service in the Nursery, all the staff are very kind and helpful. With their help, my child managed to settle quite quickly and started to look forward to going to the nursery the next day. I've noticed his English improved enormously and he became more independent. He
also enjoyed the delicious food cooked by their chef and offered there.
Can't tell them enough thank you for their support and care!

My son has been in the nursery for 2 weeks. So far, staff have always been there to receive him from me at drop off. At the end of the day, they provide lots of feedback. I feel confident that they are attentive to his needs whilst there.

My 9 month old son has recently started at Child First and so far we are really happy with how he has settled in. I love that lots of information is given to us at the end of the day about everything he has done and eaten. It means that we can see how he is doing on a regular basis. The staff are all
very welcoming and friendly and a pleasure to chat to. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

My daughter has settled in quickly. The staff and the management team are very friendly and helpful. The nursery itself is very spacious and inviting. Communication and feedback from key persons is great if key person is not available there is always someone to give feedback at the end of the session.
Overall, very satisfied and definitely recommend it to friends and family!

I can not recommend Child First enough! My little girl has been attending for a year (since she was 9 months old) and she has developed so much in that time. The girls in all the rooms are friendly, hard working and have a genuine care for all the children, not just those that they are specifically
assigned to. She has been nurtured and loved as much as she would have been at home and she loves going to nursery every day. As well as the nurturing side of the nursery, she has also developed so many skills since joining. She has social skills that she would not have developed at home on her own with me, and she is a really independent little girl, happy to feed herself, entertain herself and play with others. I can't thank the team enough for making leaving my little girl every day to go to work an easy and pleasant experience.

From the moment we first made contact, through to day by day attending nursery, all the staff have been friendly, welcoming and helpful. We received all the information we could need prior to joining and we always receive a full account of our child's day from our key worker! It is a happy, fun and
safe environment and we are so happy we chose Child First as our nursery. I go to work with peace of mind that our child is in the best care!

My son is 18 months and he really likes it at Child First. He is happy to go in the mornings and is always happily playing when I come to pick him up. The staff are fantastic and form a real bond with each child. They keep an excellent record of his progress complete with photos and artwork he has
done. They have a range of different activities that I would be unlikely to do with him at home (mainly the very messy stuff!) so I know he is getting good stimulation and playtime when he is there. I feel very comfortable leaving him there during my working day and I'm really happy with the level of service that I've received from all of the staff there. I would highly recommend Child First.

Current Review Score: 8.7 (8.667)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.7 (8.667) out of 10 for Child First Aylesbury Nursery is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.3 out of 5 from 10 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.4 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.267 for Child First Aylesbury Nursery is calculated as follows: ( (75 Excellents x 5) + (19 Goods x 4) + (16 Satisfactorys x 3) + (3 Poors x 2) + (7 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 120 Ratings = 4.267

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.4 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Child First Aylesbury Nursery is based on 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.9

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 90 number of registered child places is 18. 9 Positive Reviews ÷ 18 = 0.5

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
