A purpose built day nursery, specified by Childbase to the highest quality standard. Developed on behalf of the Stoke Mandeville Hospital to care for children of the Trust employees and the local community, Willows provides a happy, sociable environment where every child is treated as an individual. Willows Day Nursery has obtained their Green Flag Eco-Schools Award.

The nursery has five main playrooms for individual age groups, including sensory rooms and additional sleeping areas. Outside is a large, enclosed and fully equipped garden with separate areas for different activities including a baby garden with a decking area. There is also a forest school, running sessions Monday - Wednesday. In addition to the daily routines, Willows also offer the extracurricular activity of Char Char Chimps to their under 2’s. They attend every Friday from 2:30pm until 3:15pm.

I have two grandchildren presently at this nursery both started before a year old and are now 2 and 3. They both settled in happily and quickly, the staff handling those early days that were filled with the emotion of separation sensitively and so naturally, knowing when a hug or a quick distraction
looking out the window allowing Mum or Nan to leave without too many tears. They have blossomed in their care and are always excited to be going to Nursery. There is a wonderful diversity in activities helping their physical, mental and social skills. It is such a happy environment, lots of smiling faces from the receptionists to the key workers and even the dinner ladies. They're greeted by name by everyone and the key workers really do seem to care and take interest in your child and what they have been up to. The daily feedback is very welcome. We would definitely recommend this nursery.

My son attended Willows Day Nursery since Jan 2015 and feel his speech and development has grown a lot in this time. The staff are great and very welcoming. There are always 3-4 activities available to the children and a large outdoor area which is very safe and secure. My son has moved through Caterpillars
and Ladybirds and soon to move to Bumblebees which we are all looking forward to. We have had great experiences so far and would definitely recommend.

I have recently increased my son's days at Willows as he gets so much from attending. The staff were very helpful and made it easy to increase his days. He loves interacting with all the other children, and with the staff. He is always excited to go in and loves all the activities put on. Thank you

Both my grandchildren attend The Willows and I collect them on a weekly basis. Both the children are always happy at nursery and I feel their key workers have a great bond with them. The staff are friendly towards me, they give me relevant feedback and the rooms are always busy with lots going on for
all the children.

Willows Day Nursery is a lovely nursery with very friendly and helpful staff. My son has been there for two and a half years and loves it. He always has a smile on his face when I pick him up and is happy to go there on his nursery days. His key workers have always been fabulous wanting to know all
about him and how he is at home. The management and reception team are always very helpful and quick to solve any problems. I feel that Willows is a safe and friendly environment for my son to grow and learn.

Fantastic staff, really helpful and kind. Extremely accommodating to changes in shift slots. One particular member of staff is always approachable and prompt to reply to queries. Another went above and beyond to help me with a flat tyre and her kindness did not go unnoticed. One staff member in Bumblebees
is very friendly with my son and makes me feel like he is being left in safe hands. A fantastic nursery, highly recommended.

My daughter has found the past few months coming to nursery quite difficult in terms of separation from me, but the girls in her room were so supportive, always greeting her with a cuddle in the morning and distracting her if she got upset. She has formed a lovely relationship with everyone and although
she still has a few wobbles in the morning, enjoys her time at nursery.

Both of my children have attended Willows and are now at school. They had a great time at nursery and made lots of friends. Some of whom are now at school with them. It was such a good stepping stone for them, teaching them their letters, numbers and phonics before they got to school. This seemed to
give them a head start when they started learning the same things at school.

Daughter moving up to big school this month after 3 and a half years full time at Willows Day Nursery. The staff team have been fantastic with preparing my daughter for her transition. My son started at The Willows when he was six months old. I was understandably nervous at leaving him at such a young age however he has settled in incredibly quickly and really enjoys his time at nursery. I was concerned about the impact of losing one-on-one time with me with constant cuddles and encouragement
however I needn't have worried. All of the staff know his name, not just those in his room, and they all say hello and smile at him. He gets lots of cuddles and feels happy and secure enough to explore the room and play on his own as well. He's full of smiles as soon as we go through the front door and it's such a relief to leave him happy and smiling every day. I'm a strong believer in parents and educators working together for the benefit of the child and I feel I am able to do this with his room staff. There is a reassuring blend of routine and flexibility, cleanliness and messy play which is ideal.

Jane is Manager of Willows Day Nursery in Aylesbury and has a wealth of experience, having worked in the early years sector for 24 years. Jane is Level 3 qualified and has worked for Childbase Partnership for 24 years.


What is your favourite feature of Willows?


My favourite feature of the nursery is the garden and Forest school area as we have recently had these renovated.


What are you most proud of about your nursery/team?


I am proud of how the team pull together when support is needed.
