Acorn Early Years nursery at Kents Hill is ideally located for local families; close to the Kingston retail district and approximately four miles from Junction 13 of the M1 and four miles from Central Milton Keynes.

The nursery has been purpose-built in an innovative octagonal shape, offering lovely, spacious play rooms and a central atrium. Each room leads to extensive garden areas so that the children have access to a range of activities both indoors and outside. Acorn places a strong emphasis on outdoor learning and the children benefit from Acorn’s forest school sessions. They even help to grow vegetables and look after the nursery chickens in the extensive outdoor play area.

The key person system ensures children know there is always somebody there for them at Acorns. The team believe children benefit from meeting their key person in a familiar environment, before beginning their time at the nursery, and so home visits are offered to all new families to help establish those bonds.

All meals are freshly prepared on-site by the nursery chef and menus are carefully designed to offer nutritionally balanced and seasonal options, with something for every child's preferences and requirements.

Funding & Fees Guide for Acorn Day Nursery (Kents Hill)

  • Full time place starting from £1,560
    Full day from £81.50
    Morning session from £44.00
    Afternoon session from £41.00

  • Fees are inclusive of all meals, snacks, drinks (including approved formula milk), nappies and activities.
    We do not charge registration fees, only a £100 deposit which is refunded against the first month’s fees. We don’t charge for settling in sessions, but we do expect payment for all nursery fees to be paid up front at the beginning of each month, which is standard practice for all childcare providers. We do not charge for bank holidays, our four training days each year, or for the three days closure between Christmas and New Year. We do, however, charge for days children don’t attend through illness or holidays, apart from exceptional circumstances.

A fantastic nursery with a warm and nurturing environment! The staff are incredibly caring, attentive, and always go the extra mile to make learning fun and engaging. Both our kids attended Acorn at Kents Hill and it is the best nursery! The manager and her team really care about the wellbeing of the children, from the outdoor activities, to healthy diets, to development of the kids. Our kids are in safe hands and they love going to nursery every day!

Acorn nursery provides outstanding care for my daughter & did for my older daughter who also attended. All the staff are so lovely & approachable. I wouldn't recommend anywhere else.

Acorn at Kents Hill is a fantastic nursery. My daughter has been here for over a year and she is thriving. The staff are amazing, caring and very enthusiastic. My daughter has a key person at the nursery so we get regular updates on her progress. At the end of each pick up day there is always a chance
to catch up as well. Management here is fantastic. The manager is very hands on within the nursery and hosts some lovely events throughout the year where parents are invited to spend time with their child in nursery.

My son has been attending Acorn at Kents Hill since September 2024 and he absolutely loves it. He is currently in the Acorn room and is thriving. He can be a fussy eater at home but eats pretty much most meals and snacks served by their fab chef on site. They have plenty of activities for the children
to participate in and they go on lots of trips outside of the nursery. He loves his Key person who is lovely. All members of the Acorn room treat him as if they were his key person. They are all so friendly and caring and communication is great. I'm glad a space opened up for him and I couldn't imagine him being at a nicer setting.

My daughter started at Kentshill when she was 12 months old. The journey has been fantastic. Staff are very welcoming and pleasant.
Communication with parents is excellent with regular updates.
Its been 6 months now I have to say she picked a lot of good habits from the nursery, very confident and
socialising.

Our daughter has been attending Acorn Day Nursery at Kents Hill since she was 18 months, she is now 3. Ever since day one she has loved going!
She has developed and flourished so much since attending. The staff know her so well and build activities and learning opportunities which meet her needs,
giving her new challenges regularly. The management and room teams are just amazing! They are so focused on delivering an enriched learning environment.
Their in house chef prepares and delivers the most amazing menu, very rarely does my little one not eat all of the food offered.
As a parent you receive regular updates of progression, development and amazing pictures of the activities they undertake.
I can't recommend this nursery enough!

A wonderful nursery that I highly recommend to anyone I know with young children. A nurturing, clean, supportive atmosphere with plenty of opportunities for development play and experiences. I am so pleased with our nursery choice, our daughter has been attending for a year now, since 11 months old and I cannot fault anything about the nursery! The care and effort put in to the children, the nursery environment, and activities, more than shows. Staff are professional, approachable, great
at communicating and most of all clearly passionate about the work they do and the children's care, development and safety. The nursery invests in regular training for staff and are always looking to improve which is fantastic. With the focus on outdoor play and natural sensory play and furniture my daughter has thrived and genuinely loves going to nursery!

My child has been attending this kindergarten for a year and a half, and she absolutely loves it. I also feel very happy with the nursery. The teachers and the principal are both friendly and professional. The environment is wonderful, with plenty of outdoor activities. What I really appreciate is that
the kindergarten doesn't rely on modern electronic toys with lights and sounds, but instead, it uses natural materials like leaves, sand, and flowers, which change with the seasons. Additionally, the school provides timely and adequate support whenever there are changes in your family.

From the day she started, the management and team have made our little girl feel safe and happy and comfortable
I was so pleased when we got a spot on the long waiting list, and it was worth it!
Our little girl has been so well looked after with healthy food, exciting activities and outings during
the week.
We love the app that gives us regular updates on everything so at pick up we get to hear the fun stuff, and also they can also mention anything like potty training progress or new words.
When she starts school next year we feel she will have the confidence and excitement to take with her from being in such a happy environment

My child attends the Acorn Day Nursery (Kents Hill) and has been there for 10 months. She loves attending this nursery and runs in on her own without looking back now. They have a wide range of activities set up each day, allowing each child to free play around the room. They spend lots of time outside
and go on trips around the local area. This nursery offers a wide range of different and nutritious meals which change throughout the seasons and recently added to the breakfast menu with a make-your-own porridge station.
I am very happy with my child's key workers. They both send photos over each week and verbal handover is provided on daily pick-up. The app is great, very informative and can contact the nursery via message and they are very quick to respond.

My daughter is full-time and absolutely loves all the time she spends at Acorn Day Nursery in Kent's Hill. It's such a lovely environment and the staff are so friendly, warm and welcoming. They are always doing different activities and posting lots of photos via the app showing their interaction and
involvement. They also take the children out frequently which is great.
It's more like a family for my daughter and so pleased that we chose this nursery.

Acorn Day Nursery Kents Hill is a wonderful, calm and nurturing environment where both my children have thrived. The level of care is exceptional and they get to know the children very well, offering activities based on their specific interests or needs. Just last week my daughter asked for a family
book and the nursery notified me straight away to arrange for this to be created. I collected my daughter today full of smiles showing off her pictures! They've been very supportive every step of the way with me and my children which makes leaving them that bit easier knowing they are being looked after so well. I'd recommend Acorn to all families (and do so!) my daughter is so curious about the world and I believe it's because she is in an environment full of natural materials and plenty of outdoor time where she gets to explore. I can't praise them enough.

Such a great nursery! My son enrolled when he was 14 months old and he attends full-time 5 days a week. The settling sessions were carefully planned by the nursery manager, she was very accommodating with my requests and made a few changes when I asked to help with planning around my son's naps. As
a result every morning my son can't wait when we finally get to the nursery, waves me goodbye at the door with a smile and every time I pick him up I can see how happy he is while playing with others. I noticed how my son has developed already even though it has been just one month since we started. There are also organised walks outside the nursery to have some exploration time in the nearby parks. The nursery uses the app to track meals, nappies and sleep and to upload photos of different activities - this has helped me with the transition a lot! Overall I am so happy we were able to get space here, I can't thank the staff enough for their great job and for how they truly care!

Elena worked in the Early Years sector for many years and has been part of the Acorn team since 2011.


During her time at Acorn, she completed her Foundation Degree in her Early Years and progressed from Deputy Manager to Senior Manager. She is passionate about creating a nursery environment which allows all families, children and staff members to feel happy and welcome on a daily basis.


As a Senior Manager, Elena strives to share her knowledge with other practitioners, supporting them to achieve and reach their personal goals and qualifications.
