My child has been attending this nursery since the age of six months. We have been always happy with the care provided to my child in different stages as a toddler. My kid grew up happily in this place and there was always positive interaction with the staff members. There was good flexibility in booking
slots on an urgent basis and the staff were able to accommodate different requests.
We noticed our child is happy to attend the nursery, enjoys learning new skills and playing in a well-supervised environment. I would strongly recommend this place, a safe and nice environment for a toddler to spend time in.

Our son attended Nurtureville for a year. There were many things we weren't happy about (ambiguous and inconsistent temperature policies, chronic staffing instability, constant change of key persons, limited fresh food /lots of processed, wellbeing of nursery pets, activities repetitive and unchallenging)
but our son seemed to be settled and we wanted to avoid further disruption for him - he'd bonded with the staff. However we withdrew him following signs of poor emotional wellbeing and amid several Ofsted complaints and inspections. We spoke to them about our concerns, and still felt we had no confidence in the leadership and management of the nursery. It's not the first time quality and consistency of provision has been an issue, it seems a sticking plaster approach where things get better for a year or so then go back downhill. There were some nice staff working there, particularly the younger team members who we imagine could have bright futures in childcare. But not at this nursery.

In response to this review, I would like to share the reality of it in a bit more depth. Where there is a change of manager this can be an unsettling period for most settings. In our policy the manager has a right to refuse entry if a child has a high temperature. This is in accordance to our policy the aim is to limit cross infection. We do have nursery pets that are well care for. Unfortunately, pets do come to a natural end of life and unfortunately our beloved gold fish passed way. We are currently in the process of deciding our next pets. We offer children fresh food including fruit and vegetables for snacks twice a day every day, our meals are freshly prepared and cooked by our trained chef in our 5-star kitchen. I can happily say the young workers who join us as apprentices, have had a very successful run in achieving their qualifications and good practice. We have had Ofsted visits and will continue to work with them as all nursery settings should.

Both my children attend and absolutely love it. The nursery is fairly small and it’s reassuring to know all the staff who are so friendly, caring and down to earth. I have no hesitations leaving my children here. The menu is varied and the open-door policy with the manager is really helpful and personable.
I have no hesitations in recommending and would definitely suggest going for a visit. You will not be disappointed if a 'home from home' feel is what you are after!

Nurtureville in Loughton has without a doubt exceeded my expectations in all areas. I enrolled my son in their baby room in March 2023 and they have been brilliant. They offer a wide range of activities to the children throughout the day, eat healthy freshly cooked food, all areas are always spotless,
clean and tidy and most importantly my son is very happy there. He has settled in very quickly and formed bonds with staff who I can tell really care for him. I am always feeling confident taking my little one to nursery because I know that he will be looked after, loved and happy.
5 stars to Nurtureville Nursery at Loughton!

Our nine-month-old started Nurtureville at the start of 2023 and so far we have been really happy with the nursery.
All the staff are really happy, enthusiastic and welcoming. They go above and beyond in communicating what my baby has been up to that day. We receive updates in person, over tapestry
and in her daily log book.
The activities vary every day which is important to me. Activities include being outside reading books, inside playing with playdough, in a ball pit, playing with sensory toys, lights, bubbles and a lot more. The baby's room has just undergone a refurb and feels fresh and cosy, we love that the room is carpeted! The staff have done a really good job at aligning my baby's routine at the nursery close to what we do at home which is also very important to me and my partner. The variety of fresh food offered is also brilliant. Overall, really happy. Thanks Nurtureville team!

Fantastic nursery. Our daughter has been incredibly happy there for the last 2 years even with a few changes in management. The team are very kind and caring, they do great activities for the kids and it really is a home from home setting. We are incredibly thankful for the work everyone has put in
recently and everything everyone at the nursery does for our daughter. I highly recommend.

Fantastic nursery where the development and well-being of children are clearly the top priority. Staff go above and beyond. There were some staffing issues in spring 2022 which have now been resolved and the team and nursery seem stronger than ever. Loads of fun activities to keep the children entertained.
Good communication with parents in form of a monthly newsletter, daily picture update, and even the occasional parents' evening. Happy to recommend.

Started our daughter at Nurtureville at the start of October and she loves it there! They're all very friendly and caring. Switching from a childminder to a nursery was definitely the right decision for our daughter.

Both of my sons attend Nurtureville and they are both happy and thriving. There was a period earlier on this year when there were a lot of changes and staff issues but new management has really turned it around. The new staff seem happy and are very friendly and I feel the children are well looked after,
fed well and given plenty of fun activities throughout the day.

It is rare to find a nursery that you can genuinely call a home away from home but that is exactly what Nurtureville has been for our child over the past few years. The staff are absolutely brilliant and we have been so impressed by their diligence, good humour and care - they really do prioritise the
best interests and welfare of the children over everything else. Thank you Nurtureville for all you have done to help our daughter develop and flourish.

Really friendly nursery who I wholly trust with my child. My little one is very settled there and I love the photo updates so we can see what kids have been up to. Nursery has always supported anything we have asked them to.

Would love to see a return of the allotment where students grow their veg.

I can honestly say the team at this nursery are second to none, they are all absolutely amazing caring people, my child has grown so much and has learned so many important things which he will keep with him/her forever. I can not thank them enough for their efforts over the last 1.5 years. The facilities
and activities for our young minds are amazing.

Perception is not reality with this nursery, unfortunately. Serious breaches followed by a recent Ofsted investigation.
Having been told when looking at the nursery that there was new management and this was bringing all good changes, we found the opposite to be true. First, the deputy manager and
our child's key worker left, then the manager, and more workers from other children's rooms, then followed by the new key worker for our child. Regularly the pictures of our child showed them to be looking bored, sat alone and with vacant tired expressions, when at home they are engaging smiling, and active, never sitting alone.
Regularly on drop off all children of all ages were together with limited staff, breaching the Ofsted quotas.
Our child was picked up straight after a meal but had filthy hands from playing outside that hadn't been washed.
We were emailed to say that an internal review was happening to address shortages etc but in fact, it was an Ofsted investigation following complaints.

Reply from Kayley Rogers, Manager at Nurtureville Nursery & Preschool Loughton

In response to this review, I would like to share the reality of it in a bit more in-depth. With a high staff turnover and new management stepping in things needed to be addressed. Working closely with Ofsted which was not an inspection but a visit, to discuss a complaint they have since been back within the two weeks as stated and are very happy with our changes that have been made. Even with staffing issues, measures were put in place to ensure no room was left over ratio and we had support from our director and other nurseries to ensure we remained compliant. I do apologise you feel you had a bad experience with Nurtureville but I can ensure you that now we are under new management new measures have been put in place to ensure things like this do not happen again.

My little boy who is 19 months has been attending this nursery 2 days a week since the beginning of December. The staff are amazing with him and he has really come out of his shell. He had little to none interaction with adults and other children his age prior to attending this nursery and he is so
much more confident in just a few months of him being there. Staff are always happy and approachable and I’m over the moon I chose this nursery for him.
Thank you so much to the manager and the team.

We are extremely happy with our son's development since he's started going to Nurtureville he has come out of his shell, growing in confidence and self esteem. He's also talking more and his vocabulary in English has expanded. The staff is loving and really competent. Also, come across as honest. They
keep us updated about progress regularly.

Current Review Score: 8.3 (8.320)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.3 (8.320) out of 10 for Nurtureville Nursery & Preschool Loughton is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.4 out of 5 from 6 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.9 out of 5 from 5 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.403 for Nurtureville Nursery & Preschool Loughton is calculated as follows: ( (55 Excellents x 5) + (6 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) + (5 Poors x 2) + (5 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 72 Ratings = 4.403

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 3.917 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Nurtureville Nursery & Preschool Loughton is based on 5 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.5

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 60 number of registered child places is 12. 5 Positive Reviews ÷ 12 = 0.417

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
