Acorn at Jubilee Wood is situated next to Jubilee Wood Primary School, located in Fishermead, a short walk from Central Milton Keynes. It is a 64 place nursery catering for babies and children from 4 months up to 4 years.

The nursery has two large garden areas plus an onsite Forest School woodland area. Outdoor play is a key aspect of Acorn’s ethos and the children benefit from spending time outdoors every day, whatever the weather. Included in the fees are regular Forest School sessions. These exciting educational experiences are suitable for pre-schoolers and are delivered by fully trained forest school leaders and offer an innovative approach to outdoor play.

The nursery is bright and spacious and offers free-flow access throughout each age group. The team work closely with parents and carers to develop children’s interests and skills, ensuring each of them reaches their full potential. A variety of imaginative and creative play activities can be enjoyed alongside regular outings and trips, and in addition to three large playrooms and a central hub area for messy play, there is a large hall for active play and a cosy sensory room which is very popular with all the children.

All the nursery meals are freshly prepared and delivered each day by Acorn Catering, which operates from the hub kitchen at their Shenley Church End nursery. They use local ethically sourced produce to create their delicious meals and all the menus have been designed to be nutritionally balanced ensuring they offer a variety of foods.

A home visit from the manager and your child’s key person is offered to all new families as children benefit from meeting their key person in a familiar environment, before attending the nursery for settling-in sessions.

They currently offer under 2, 2, 3 and 4-year-old funding and 30 hours funding for 3/4-year-olds.

Funding & Fees Guide for Acorn Day Nursery (Jubilee Wood)

  • Full time place starting from £1,300.00
    Full day from £68.00
    Morning session from £40.00
    Afternoon session from £35.50


  • Fees are inclusive of all meals, snacks, drinks (including approved formula milk), nappies and activities.
    We do not charge registration fees, only a £100 deposit which is refunded against the first month’s fees. We don’t charge for settling in sessions, but we do expect payment for all nursery fees to be paid up front at the beginning of each month, which is standard practice for all childcare providers. We do not charge for bank holidays, our four training days each year, or for the three days closure between Christmas and New Year. We do, however, charge for days children don’t attend through illness or holidays, apart from exceptional circumstances.

Always helpful and attentive to our daughter's needs.


She has settled in fast and her development has improved dramatically in the few months that she has been at Jubilee Wood. Staff are always there to help and assist.


Our daughter loves the forest school and yoga activities on offer at this

nursery.

Acorn Jubilee is a lovely nursery with kind, caring staff. The nursery itself is spacious, clean and bright with lots of great outdoor play areas and also a forest area which my daughter loves playing in. I like the enthusiasm for allowing children to play outside as much as possible and the link to
forest schools. When my daughter developed a stammer a while ago, the nursery staff were really supportive and used the recommendations from the therapist to help her overcome it. She's got to know them really well over the last 2 and a half years and I know she'll miss them when she starts school in September.

Acorn at Jubilee Wood day nursery has been an amazing nursery. They are all really kind and caring. They care for the children as if their own. They are all happy and friendly and very welcoming. They always have fun and engaging activities which are always based on the childrens' interests.

Lovely nursery. Lots of space and gardens. My granddaughter loves to go. Staff are so nice and look after her every need so well. Nursery parking is good. Safety is very good, food is good and they get lots of fresh fruits for snack.

My daughter loves going to nursery, she likes the staff especially her key person. The staff are very friendly, welcoming and helpful, the only thing I would say is that they are not always very organised, but that's probably because they just moved there and can get quite busy. But overall I am happy

Really lovely staff I feel completely happy leaving my 11 month old with. The setting is clean and always seems to have resources for the children. My son goes to this nursery, when he first started he didn't talk much and didn't like being away from me. Now he loves going here and his speech has improved a lot. There is a lot for him to do here, indoor and outdoor activities.

My son started nursery at the age of 3 months at the nurseries previous location (Willows). The staff at the nursery are friendly and keen to ensure the children learn new things on a daily basis. The move to Jubilee Wood has resulted in more space for the children to play inside and out. The weekly
Forest School trips were a big draw for me to the Acorn nursery and they do not disappoint, my son loves the trips to the great outdoors, drinking hot chocolate around a fire and making huts.


The children have various different sections in each room, varying from dressing up, a builders hut, a kitchen, to drawing, painting and reading. There is something for every child, and the carers encourage the children to use their imaginations.


My son leaves in September for school. I will be really sad to see him leave a place he loves and that I love too!

In my opinion Acorn at The Willows is a great nursery for my little Lady. The staff are extremely friendly, relaxed and likable. I actually enjoy leaving my little baby there, as I know she will be well looked after, she will eat well and she will play with various toys. She is also learning to interact
with other babies. I love how multicultural the nursery is. That was something that has initially attracted me to the nursery, as well as the staff. My baby is learning loads of skills at the nursery, and she is extremely happy there. Only one thing that I can object to is the updates that are sent to me regarding my baby. When I came for a tour back in October 2015 I was told that I will be getting daily updates (more than 1 per day, it sounded like every few hours) and progress on my baby, by the App that the nursery uses. Unfortunately, this is not the case. On average since my baby has been at the nursery, we get 1 review every 3-4 weeks.

Amy’s childcare career first began in 2008 when she started working for Acorn as a nursery assistant. She is very passionate about providing high-quality learning opportunities for all children and giving them the choice to experience things they may not have at home.


She has a Level 5 in Childcare and a real passion for working with children.
