My daughter has attended for 5 months and has developed so much. All staff are polite, helpful and welcoming.
My daughter is full-time and never comes home unhappy. When dropped off in the mornings she gets excited before entering the building.
I'm impressed with the fresh food given every day with
an onsite cook.
I get daily updates on my daughter's progress.
The management are lovely and very approachable and know all the children's names and parents.
I can't fault this nursery. Very impressed and pleased.

I really love this nursery. It's bright, airy clean and tidy. There is a clear educational structure but with a very homely feeling environment. Most importantly my son loves it and doesn’t want to leave some days!! 10/10 from me!!

I'm on my 2nd child at Palace Day and I would never consider putting my children anywhere else. I love everything about it. The staff and rooms, the care they receive is above what is expected.

Absolutely brilliant nursery, couldn't wish for a better place to take my daughter, she's so happy there. The staff are lovely and genuinely love and care for the children like they would their own.
They completely put my mind at ease (I'm a worrier).
Would highly recommend them.

Current Review Score: 9.4 (9.429)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.4 (9.429) out of 10 for The Palace Day Nursery is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 7 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.6 out of 5 from 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.783 for The Palace Day Nursery is calculated as follows: ( (70 Excellents x 5) + (8 Goods x 4) + (5 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 83 Ratings = 4.783

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.646 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for The Palace Day Nursery is based on 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.7

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 37 number of registered child places is 7.4. 7 Positive Reviews ÷ 7.4 = 0.946

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

I enjoy working with all the different age groups and particularly enjoy getting hands on with messy play and exploring the different textures and materials on offer for the children. Hi, I’m Christine Wallace (Chrissie) and I am the Third-In-Charge and Designated Safeguarding Lead of the Palace Day Nursery. I lead the Little Gems room. I have worked in childcare since 2003 after completing a BA(Hons) in Sociology. I have completed studies in Level 3 and Level 4 Childcare. In 2020 I qualified in the Early Years Teacher Status. I love working with all age groups and joining in their fun and games. I love messy play and instilling a creative side with our children. I also love reading, singing and dancing with the children to lots of different types of music. I believe it is important for young children to be able to express themselves in a variety of ways.
