A WELCOMING AND RURAL NURSERY IN SAFFRON WALDEN.

The bright, inspiring nursery in Saffron Walden provides exceptional care and education to children from 3 months to 5 years.

They focus on understanding every child’s unique personality and interests, and use these to encourage learning and exploring. Each room features age-appropriate toys, activities and equipment to inspire children’s natural curiosity. The children particularly enjoy the reading nooks, dedicated art corner and building blocks, as well as taking part in imaginative play in the construction role-play area.

The nursery also practices Growing Enhancements – a unique Ready for School programme focusing on reading, writing and mathematics – to support your child in their transition from nursery to school. Growing Enhancements also include Creative Cooks, Active Athletes and Growing Artists, allowing your child to express their creative side and discover new passions.

Outside, Saffron Walden Crocus has plenty of space to discover nature. There are climbing frames, raised beds for gardening, tricycles, an up-and-over tunnel and various outdoor games – all sectioned into age-appropriate gardens and surrounded by greenery.

Our son has settled in really well at the nursery. The staff have been so helpful with our queries, are really friendly and communicate regularly with any updates. He runs into the nursery every morning and is clearly very happy to be there! We couldn't ask for more.

Our daughter started at the nursery in August 2020. She has settled in really well and all the staff have been extremely nice and caring. We couldn’t have hoped for a better place for our daughter in her early years. She absolutely loves it and has a lot of fun every single day.
We would really recommend
this nursery. Everything is perfect, the food, the staff, the care and the activities.

My little one absolutely loves it at this nursery, when I ask her in the mornings if she's ready to go to nursery she runs to put her shoes on. The staff are all so friendly and put up with me phoning daily when she first started, just for me to hear that she was happy and doing well. She especially
loves playing outside and is getting so confident in all the skills she's learning. We get daily feedback on how her day was, what she played with, what she ate and nappy changes. I walk away each morning knowing I can trust that they'll nurture my baby.

My eldest, whom is now in Reception, started here when she was two and a half. Straight away she and us were made to feel like an extension of the family. Now my youngest whom is eighteen months old is also here and we couldn't be happier. Her needs are met, physically and emotionally and communication
between them and us has remained open and consistent. The team have excelled over the past twelve months, dealing with day to day changes in legislation due to Covid-19. The nursery is always clean, the security and safety of all children is of paramount importance and the staff are wonderful. They all care and it is a privilege to be a part of what feels like a home from home for both of my children. A huge thank you to each and everyone of you.

My little boy always has a lovely time at nursery, the staff are friendly, caring and plan lots of fun activities to stimulate them. Given the recent challenges of lockdown and the fact he hasn't been able to socialise as normal, the staff have taken the time to integrate him at his own pace and make

The nursery has been absolutely wonderful for my little boy. He joined when he was 11 months and he loves it. The staff are kind but also work to help with discipline and growth. They are thoughtful and have really developed relationships with my son. He is very happy at the nursery and is thriving

Both our children were at Crocus from babies until school age. We have always felt reassured that they were in a safe and nurturing setting. It has been lovely to see them blossom from all the stimulating activities and the close relationships they developed with both staff and peers. The staff produced
amazing journals for my children over the time they were there which has been wonderful to look at with them - so many happy memories. I am very grateful for the care Crocus has provided and know that it has given my children a really good foundation for starting school.

My daughter has been going to this nursery since the beginning of August 2020 and she has settled in perfectly. The staff are so friendly and all take the time to get to know your child which definitely put me at ease that my daughter was being very well looked after. They spend time getting to know
what your child likes and dislikes, and tailor their days as much as they can around their favourite activities. Since starting, my daughter's communication skills are coming on in leaps and bounds and she seems to really enjoy herself. It has been the perfect fit for us, we are very happy and would definitely recommend to others!

Both of our children have attended this nursery, and we couldn't be happier with their experience in all of the rooms.
The team provide wonderful nurturing care to the children, and they are led by a wonderful centre manager.
The manager and her team have responded exceptionally well to the incredible
challenges presented by Covid19, and my wife and I feel that our children are not only safe, but they are also happy and well cared for.
My daughter skips in and skips out at the end of the day.

Both our children have been to this nursery and have been so happy during their time at the Crocus. My son has been at the nursery for 2 years and has thoroughly enjoyed his time there. He is not the easiest child to deal with as he is so full of energy and not easy to sway once his mind is set on something. Over lockdown he was constantly asking after the staff in his room and if he was going into
Nursery. He has now moved onto primary school, and on his first day, went in, a bit hesitantly, but full of confidence. I put that down to the wonderful staff in pre-school fully preparing him for the next stage in his journey. They have always had good communication with us, and always answered our questions. The support provided over lockdown was plentiful and relevant. I know that I shall miss going there.

My daughter was at a nursery previous to this and she really did not like it and she loves everyone and everything. We put her into bright Horizons in September 2019 and she has done nothing but thrive and come on leaps and bounds since. Her speech and socialisation is fantastic and she never wants
to come home, she loves it so much. Special shout out to my daughter's key worker who is absolutely fantastic with her, especially when she has her meltdowns. The nursery is very well organised and structured with a full breakdown of your child's day time routine to include what they have done, eaten, any accidents etc. Would highly recommend this nursery to anyone and I am so sad to see her leave and go to school.

Professional and organised, the staff build real relationships with the kids. My daughter looks forward every day to seeing her friends which includes her teachers! My daughter has developed leaps and bounds during her time here it's difficult to quantify this since this is the only nursery we have

I have worked at The Saffron Walden Crocus Early Years Centre for the last 9 years.
I started as a Nursery Assistant, completed my level 3 and am now a Third In Charge.
I work 3 days a week Monday, Thursday and Friday as the Room Leader in Toddler room.
I am also one of the settings Senco’s.
I have a 3 year old daughter and a 1 year old son.
