Footprints Day Nursery and Out of School Provision care about every step a child makes. The team pride themselves on the individual care and support that they give to all children and families, recognising the Early years as the most important in a child’s life.

Footprints Day Nursery has been loving and caring for children for over 35 years. The excellent location in central Chelmsford serves both parents who work in the city centre as well as those who commute to London, as the nursery is 10 mins from the railway station.

The strong partnership with parents and carers makes it easy for the team to provide the best care and education for children. The large spacious rooms provide children with a variety of stimulating play and learning opportunities focused around the children’s interests. Children leave Footprints as confident happy learners who are fully prepared for school.

The Day Nursery is for children aged three months to five years old and the Out of School Provision is for five to 11 year olds.

Both of my children attended Footprints and we could not have been more happy with our choice, staff are absolutely brilliant and always go the extra mile. We had no complaints whatsoever and it is a truly fantastic nursery with great staff.

My children have been attending for 5 years (from 5 months and onto after school/holiday club). I can’t rate them highly enough. They treat children as individuals and understand what it takes for them to thrive. They go above an beyond to accommodate as needed. My kids love all the staff and look forward
to attending every day.

I now have two children in Footprints, my son is in the pre-school room and has been with this nursery since September 2020 when they were in the depths of Covid. The staff are just the best and so supportive and they communicate efficiently with parents. If you have any worries then they will work
with you. My daughter is not the youngest in the baby room at nine months and absolutely thrives and loves coming in to see everyone. I especially love the fact that they get the children outside as much as possible with the lovely garden they have. This has helped teach my son to get dressed independently. The times are great and we picked this nursery because it was close to us for work being in the centre of Chelmsford. I wish I could pick it up and take it nearer to where I live. In December 2022 they even had a little nativity for the pre-school room which all the staff had put so much effort into and being in the church meant that parents could attend to see the play. I can't recommend it enough!

Our daughter has been attending Footprints Day Nursery for just over a year and I would highly recommend them.


Friendly and caring staff, lovely rooms for the children, nice outdoor area, good variety of food - really cannot fault them.

Wonderful staff, from the reception, manager and especially the staff who take care of and teach my daughter. I just have to thank all the support, love and dedication with our daughter, she has developed a lot.

This is a fantastic nursery, but what elevates it from others is the staff, they really do care, as do the managers. They were fantastic whilst our son was there and we only moved to be closer to home.
If it were my choice I would not have changed and really miss the place. Would not hesitate to go
back.

Our daughter has been going to Footprints for around 5 months and we are very happy with how she has settled in and the quality of care and support provided. We anticipated some difficult times when she first started but were pleasantly surprised by how quickly our daughter integrated, and I think this
is mainly due to the excellent staff and general atmosphere that they create. We looked around several nurseries before choosing Footprints and we feel confident that we have made the correct decision. We feel they listen to any concerns we have and have been proactive in helping support our daughter’s development.

The staff at Footprints are all very friendly and professional and take a real interest in the children. Staff seem to know each child by name, regardless of which room the child is in. My daughter loves going to nursery and having the opportunity to take part in varied activities. At nursery, she is
able and encouraged to express herself and learn new things. I would recommend Footprints Nursery to anyone having seen how happy my daughter is there. I drop her there, confident that she is in very safe and caring hands.

My son has attended this nursery for 2 years nearly and I could not praise the staff enough! Ever since starting he's come on so well and that's all down to Footprints! Brilliant friendly staff always giving 100% into the kids. Wide variety of menu even for the fussiest eaters! I loved the pre school
nativity my son recently took part in, So well put together and the kids really enjoyed themselves. It puts me at such ease seeing how happy all the children are especially mine and how he looks forward to seeing his teachers and friends. I'm really going to be sad for him to leave for school in September. The Managers do a phenomenal job with this nursery and their staff. Don't ever change! Xx

A very nice nursery, a friendly and warm atmosphere, attentive and helping staff, wise management, reasonable pricing. My daughter loves this nursery, she is always upset when we have to go home - and it is the best proof :)

Have had our little girl here since she was one, now she's four. She has loved almost every minute but on the rare occasions that she's had a little "crisis" the staff have been brilliant with her and helped her out.
She's now a confident, sparky, caring, funny wee character who chats constantly.
A lot of that is down to the input from the staff at Footprints so can't give it a better recommendation than that really!

Fantastic nursery! All the staff are friendly and helpful. Even if my son is upset to leave me he always comes out happy and tells me about his day. Footprints Day Nursery was my first choice due to the location and good reviews, I'm so glad they could offer my son the place on the days I requested
- I didn't even look around any other nurserys after seeing how fantastic Footprints is.

My son started attending footprints in June 2013 an since then he has come on in leaps and bounds! The staff are great an I always feel at ease leaving my son in their care. I am gutted that he will be leaving this year to attend primary school but looking forward to my daughter coming here when she

My son is now at school but comes back to use the holiday provision on a regular basis. As a parent of a child who used to attend the nursery, it is fantastic that Footprints Day Nursery provides a holiday club as I do not have the stress of leaving him in unfamiliar surroundings with staff/children
he doesn't know. He gets to meet up with old nursery friends and loves seeing his old nursery nurses' again. His day is full of fun and he would have loved to have been booked in for the whole week and is already asking when he can go back. The staff work very hard on a theme for each holiday to make it different every time a child visits. The activities are varied and trips out are also organised. It is very good value for money. Top marks Footprints Day Nursery.

After looking around a few nurseries in the surrounding area, this is the one I chose. It has a lovely atmosphere and is very welcoming. My daughter started Footprints in September 2015 (just over 2 years old), with a couple of weeks of tears from my daughter and myself! I was reassured all the time
and could contact the nursery at any time. She settled in very quickly and thoroughly enjoys herself. Her social skills, knowledge and confidence have expanded since attending nursery and I am very happy of her progress. All the staff are friendly and helpful, they all have a lovely bond with the children. I look forward to the next couple of years of my daughter being here.

I have had both of my children go to this nursery from the age of 6 months until 4 1/2 years, they have both loved it and I have always felt extremely happy with the care they provide. My children have both been so happy here and love Footprints. The staff are lovely and always there to help or discuss
anything with you and will always ensure that you have been kept completely up to date of how your child has been throughout the day and throughout the year. Brilliant nursery and would recommend to any of my friends and family. I feel at complete ease leaving my children in their care and happy that my children are happy.

Our children have attended Footprints for almost 5 years now. It's the first nursery We looked at and the only one we found with a exceptional provision of care for our children.
The nurture this nursery provides is fantastic. They encourage children to be individual while teaching them essential
skills required to ready them for school. Our eldest left footprints already able to read.
We would not hesitate in recommending this nursery. The staff have excellent skills, patience and are so caring towards the children and parents. It can be stressful to leave your child at nursery distressed. If this happens I get a message during the morning to let me know all is well - that to me as a working mum is priceless.
We loved this nursery from day one. It's calm and above all the people were lovely. It has grown and developed under the management into such a superb Early Years setting which is giving our little ones the best care and start in their education journey.

I cannot praise Footprints enough. Everyone there is so helpful, kind and attentive. My daughter adores going and is very fond of all the lovely ladies and other kids. She is a different child to when she started a year ago and it is all pre school's doing. She comes home having learnt so much each
day, and the best bit is that she has been picking up sign language! The ladies here really do take the kids under their wing and I will be very sad to leave them come summer when my daughter starts school. A couple of generations of kids in the family have gone here and it was recommended to me by many. Highly highly recommend them myself. The kids menus are delicious, and the garden is great with lots of different things to do. Cant rate them enough. Thank you for everything ladies xxx
